Interview 9 June, was approved
Case updated 15 June, says ready
Case updated 25 June, says ready
Snap same....interview was 17th June - approved, case updated 18th June - Ready and then case updated 25th June still says ready....
I am wondering actually if the montreal consulate are working this weekend! like US DoS says they are. hoping to hear tomorrow or Tuesday!
-
I had my interview for I130 on 17th June and was approved. they told me 2 - 3 weeks because of all the issues.
However Montreal released this on their consulate page:
-------------------------------------
Resumption of Visa Services 26 June 2015Visa Update: Visa processing has resumed at the U.S. Embassy and consulates in Canada. Interview appointments are now available. Some posts in Canada have openings as soon as June 26. To schedule an appointment, visit https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ca/niv.
For those travelers whose interviews were cancelled during the systems outage: check your email for a message with instructions to reschedule your interview, or visit https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ca/niv.
If you are waiting to receive your approved visa: we are currently working to eliminate the backlog of visas awaiting printing, and anticipate that we will be able to print the majority of visas by early next week. You will receive an email when your visa is ready to be picked up at the Loomis location you selected when you applied.
We deeply regret the inconvenience these technical problems have caused for travelers waiting for visas and are working hard to return to normal processing. Updates will continue to be posted here, and on the State Department website travel.state.gov.

so we should hear next week for the visas being printed. -
update for the Canadians waiting for their approved visa: Montreal consulate released this - for us the red bit is relevant. Hopefully we will hear next week!

Can I ask what you brought for proof of relationship?
we don't have any assets together like a house etc. so
I had
- pictures of us together everytime he visited
- stubs of things we did like go see a movie
- pictures of our wedding
- receipts of gifts I bought him and he bought me
- boarding passes of our holidays together
- i printed a calendar of the times he visited me
- i printed our Skype chat logs for the last year!
I even offered to show her some of the stuff and she said no its fine. So it really depend on the CO.

Hi everyone, I believe in my P4 letter it said to bring the original AOS form...yet I mailed the original to the NVC. Should I print another one and have my sponsor sign it again? Should I bring his paystubs and tax forms and employment letter (financial evidence that I sent to the NVC) as well? Also, should I bring evidence of the validity of our relationship? Is it really questionable? I am in Canada and we live 30 mins away from each other, we are the same age and we own a house together in the US and we have been together for 2.5 years now. If so, should I bring photos or more than like emails and texts?
Just be on the safe side - and bring everything rather have everything in case they ask and you don't. So many different reviews that people were asked for different things
They didnt ask to see my AOS at all. They have a copy when we submitted it. some COs ask and some don't...I had his tax forms with me just in case. They didnt ask to see any proof of relationship or pictures for me but I had everything.

Hey Zirq, looks like we will be getting our visas soon, Im not sure about this but do u think loomis will deliver the package to our home or we have to go and pick it up, the closest one to me is Markham and that is still far.
Hey happy that i can help in some way..if you have more questions please feel free to ask.
SNAP! thats good to hear.... I live in Markham so mine is also picking up from markham but its not too far from me. On the montreal website under the courier section there is an option I think....once the waybill number gets assigned to the visa and is on its way to loomis,...from what I understand you can email them and they pay i think $20 to have it delivered to the house!
https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ca/iv/information/courier - this is the link maybe once in transit you can contact loomis in markham and ask them
Document Delivery Service to an address within CanadaAn applicant may request that his or her passport be delivered to an address within Canada by following the procedure below.
Step 1: Once the waybill number appears on the Applicant Summary, the applicant has to send an e-mail to csc@loomis-express.com and provide the following information for each applicant:
- Applicant full name (as written in the passport and visa application)
- Waybill number
- Daytime phone number
- Full address in Canada (ONLY)
- Special instructions (i.e. leave at reception, leave on 3rd floor suite 100, etc., additional contact information)
Step 2: Loomis will call applicant within 2 business days to arrange payment. The costs for each shipment will depend on whether the package needs to be shipped within the same province or it is a national shipment.
- Same Province: $18.84 + Taxes
- National: $20.55 + Taxes
Step 3: Once the payment transaction is complete, Loomis will send the documents to the address defined by the applicant at step 1.
NOTE: If the applicant declines charges or Loomis cannot collect the charge, the passport will be delivered to the Loomis location initially selected by the applicant at no cost.
DISCLAIMER:
- Loomis will make two delivery attempts during regular business hours (9:00 -18:00). If the two attempts fail, Loomis will send the passport back to the branch location originally selected.
- Loomis will leave package with anyone who answers the door at the requested address and signs for it.
- Loomis will require the signature of the package and will not leave the document at the address if nobody is there to sign for it.
- If Loomis is unable to deliver the passport after two attempts, but the applicant still requires the passport to be delivered at a specific address, a new service request starting with Step 1 and new transaction payment will be required.
- Documents will be delivered within the next two (2) business days of having completed the payment.
- Service fees are nonrefundable.
- This service does not provide for delivery outside of Canada.

Hey akazmi don't worry they will send it in time for your interview. If you registered your interview with the montreal us consulate and everything is in order...it will change. check in may be the week before your interview and the week of.

Fudgey-nuggets!!!!!!
Dr Lee's office just called.... they ran a titre test for mmr with my bloodwork to confirm the booster in Feb actually took - and mumps did not!
Grrrrr.....
I think this might be the 3rd shot in 10 years for this! **sigh** I called my family doc and getting in this afternoon to see him... will discuss what to do next - do I just get yet another shot and fax it off or what?!
Hey christina - similar thing to me except i asked my doc to check it and she gave the mumps booster.
so basically yeh get the shot and confirmation and send to Dr Lee - maybe just call them and ask them if that is what you need to do or you need to show the blood test result to show immunity.
-
Help!!! I havent been able to find a single doctor to give me the Tdap shot and my medical exam is tomorrow morning at 8:30am!!! Dr Cheema told me i need to get it before the exam...what's going to happen with me showing up not getting it done?! Will i fail the exam?!
thats strange my doc gave it to me. i guess explain the situation - go get it after the medical and get it signed off by the doc and send to him before he sends u the results?
-
@dwheels - this thread is a saviour...I don't think I would have mentally prepped myself for the interview without the support of this group but most of all you with all your advice. you are doing a fantastic job keep this up. I think the NVC/Consulate intelligence gathered is top notch - we could all collectively take over NVC! with all the improvements and suggestions etc that everyone has. so keep it going.....
-
Hi everyone, I have my interview in 3 weeks and my status still says " at NVC " I've called a few times and they said " soon, soon" wondering what I can do, or is this normal timing?
I wouldn't worry they usually send it a week or two before your interview. Just keep an eye on it.

I got into Montreal on wednesday around 2, that nite I read your review and I smiled and told myself everything is going to be fine..congrats to u too...I had the same issue with my pic, the one they had was hideous and the new one I took was great so the guy asked which one to use and I told him the better one of course and he laughed. The staff there was great, God bless them..
I read your review...I got window 9 too! she was really nice...made me feel so comfortable. Hoping that the visa printing issues sort themselves out quickly! All the best with the move xxx it does feel a bit silly stressing but you only really understand that after the interview - not before! lol
-
Congrats canaria girl pit we missed each other I had mine on 17th June and was approved too!

Should my wife bring 2014 tax return to interview when it was already submitted to NVC?
just take everything - rather have everything than not have it and then be told you need to show it. I took everything even though I wasn't asked to show it or any of my evidences but I would rather be prepared and have everything,
-
@dwheels and all my fellow vj-ers - thank you for the support in the process so far its been a great peace of mind to be able to support each other and also just pouring out frustrations! this is an invaluable resource which is great!!! thanks again all..now the show aint over till the fat lady sings so lets hoping the technical glitches sort themselves out within a few weeks!!! time to move on in my life.
-
Did they call you or you called them.
They call you and let you know that the results are ready to pick up.
-
Hi Zirq after how many days it took you to get your medical in a sealed envelope.
Thank You
Ahsan
They said 10 working days but mine took 8 days

I have a question about the vaccinations. I was immunized for MMR last in 1987 (born in 1985) and have the record stating this. Do I need to get a blood test done to show that I still have immunity for MMR? Also, I had Tdap done in 1990 but have since only had Td boosters, my last one being in 2010. Do I need to get another Tdap booster? And do I need to get this done prior to my medical exam? Thanks everyone!
I wasn't sure about what I had and hadn't....I had MMR when I was a kid...but I just told my family doc to just basically do a titre test for all of them to check...and she did and it just so happened that I was immune to Measles and Rubella but not MMR and so when I went back for Tdap booster she just gave me an MMR booster.
For Tdap you need proof that it was done in the last 10 years you should be good. Best to get it done before you Medical Dr Randall appreciated that I go t it done in advance and made up for the ones that I didnt have - made his life easier he said.

That is really disheartening to hear if that is going to be the time to get a visa, especially when I was really hoping to bring my wife to the United States before Eid...
Yeh I know what you mean, I was hoping to be in the States with my husband before Eid...there is still a possibility..i just didnt really wanna travel during ramadan But hopefully soon they will fix it within the next couple of weeks.
-
Congratulations masha Allah very happy for you.
thanks akazmi. Its like a big heavy weight is lifted off your shoulders when they say approve!!
Let me know if you have any questions about the interview...I posted my review for the embassy.
-
PS I was not asked for any evidence at all...they didnt even ask me for AOS or tax forms.
-
My visa was approved!! Alhamdulillah. What a tense morning.
For those at Montreal - arrive only 20 mins before interview time because they will turn you away if you come earlier. And just our luck the fire drill went off so we all had to evacuate the building! was outside for one hour before we had to go back in through security and back up to 19th floor. but lucky for us who were waiting we had three interview windows open whereas before was only one and then we were seen fairly quickly and the interview was short and painless. She was really nice the CO.
She did mention the technical glitch and that it still has not been fixed and then said I could expect an email my visa is ready in about 3 weeks. Could be longer she said. Just FYI for those enquiring.
-
Good luck with your interview. Soon you will hear the good news
Thanks akazmi will let my fellow Canadians know how it went!!!

Hey so my status update still says Ready on CEAC as of 25th June...what does that actually mean?
Is it my visa is ready?
What does it change to when they print the visa?
