ATTENTION PEOPLE OF JAMAICA, INDIA AND CANADA
Those who just went through interview and all can you verify this information for your embassy and let me know if its correct.
*********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************
For Canadians only
Canadians have to prove that they are "eligible" to be interviewed by the US Embassy in Canada.
When your interview letter asks you to bring your eligibility document this means one of the following:
If you were born in Canada, bring your birth certificate.
If you are a naturalized Canadian citizen, bring your passport.
If you are not a Canadian citizen, bring whatever authorizes you to live in Canada (usually a visa in your passport).
They put eligibility document on the doc list but they never asked for it specifically because you would already have brought your passport to the interview.
But yes those are the docs you can bring.

Thanks Christina but I and behold we have to wait even further because of the actual assignment of a waybill number seems to be averaging another 5 days!!!! This has to be the most excruciating wait of all its like come on now you have tormented me enough...the least they could do is fast track all the issued visas!!!!!!that's awesome
congrats
and I'm sure all my Cdn peeps will have their visas in hand very shortly!!
Hoping that you don't have this torment in July and they are back to normal processing time by the time that u have ure interview!!
-
I JUST received my Loomis Waybill number!!! TIME TO PACK and get back to my husband!!!
Congrats!!! I was hoping to be outta here next Sunday so hoping Monday I hear some good news.
-
Check loomis website they have transit times from US consulate MTL postal code to yours...
It says ground mail transit from Montreal to Vancouver takes about 5 business days. Since Loomis is not solely US based company, I am hoping we'll hear from them about the waybill number and issued passport/visa package.
well I am feeling hopeful! Thanks Jmboland
My Friend just informed me that when looking through some archived forums it seems on average its been the 5 days they say from ISSUED to having your visa in hand. There has def been some that have been much quicker though so fingers crossed!!!
Thanks jayjayhas - I am hoping that 3-4 days. Lets hope they don't have a July 4th hangover on Monday morning!
-
congrats on being issued...now good luck on getting the visa
...may of us has been issued since Monday and still nothing yet. This immigration process was designed to test the faith of even Jesus Christ himself..
that is exactly what I was afraid of!
-
is there an estimate between issued to receiving #tracking no? i mean we will have to wait till Monday anyways due to the long weekend
was hoping to have it by mid week so that I can make my plans to leave next Sunday with my hubby.
-
so i guess now here comes the next obstacle do we know how long after issued we get our actual passports back?
I contacted Montreal a few days ago for status updates and they said my case was with the CO so hoping next week they can tell me when to expect it at my Loomis location.
-
It seems to me they didn't work on the IV backlog at all, at Montreal anyway. I haven't seen anyone passed a June 17th interview date as issued yet...
mine was on 17th June and I just got issued status today.
did you also get this message?
Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. As the officer told you in the interview, if further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved when administrative processing is finished, you will receive notification to collect the passport with the visa from the Loomis branch you selected when you booked your appointment.
yeh I am hoping that is just a formality. Issued means visa is printed in the passport...so they just have to send it and put the IV packet together.
-
congrats zirq
Thank you! TeJoGB lots of prayers coming to everyone and hoping that those waiting comes soon!!
-
Just heard back on CEAC - my visa is finally issued!
-
Congratulation Zirq very happy for you.
Thanks Akazmi this was the worst of the waits. Alhamdulillah
Eid in the US!!
-
ISSUED!!! JUST GOT AN UPDATE ON CEAC....What a relief!!! Yay so exciting...finally have to start my final packing.....
-
My visa has been issued!! Was just updated today!
Now hoping I get it via courier quickly.
YAAAAAY !!! Im like super excited for you
Congrats. Now Im hoping Im not too far behind...so far its still READY!!!
-
People who got issued, what happens next, how long does it take to have visa in hand? Please share?
Hang in there those of you who are waiting, time is very near!!
still hanging in there...congrats on your issued visa. if you don't mind me asking when your interview was? then I can take comfort in knowing mine might be issued next week at some point.
-
It's weird, mine was updated today too, but still says "Ready"
blah so frustrating..... I'm hoping u get ures coz then I'm shortly behind u
-
Status date updated today but still says ready, what does that mean ugh!
I feel your pain..am in the same situation.
case updated yesterday but nothing...
-
I just checked mine on ceacstattrack and it's "issued" (nothing changed in the us-visainfo website), however, I'm praying we'll receive the email from Loomis that states ready for pick up as soon as July 2nd (considering July 1st -- is a holiday for both Loomis/US Consulate). Hang in there.
congrat!! I am waiting with baited breath
this is the most frustrating of all the waits!!! mine was 17th june approved and status updated from
18th June to 25th June to 30th June -- all the time its READY......
now with two holidays this week don't think I will hear back this week.....still have hopes they do this tomorrow!!!
PS...I don't think they were working on that weekend on immigrant visas at least..... !!!
-
I have already had my interview and was approved but the case is still ready but the case status updates have changed from 18th June to 25th June to 30th June - so is there another meaning for ready??
-
Hi Zirq don't worry IA you will get your visa soon and celebrate EID with your loved ones.
Thanks Akazmi....good luck with your interview
-
I just read that a fellow Canadian who had interview 10th June just had her status updated to issued. I am really hoping that I get the visa issued by end of week,,,,need to be in U.S Before 18th July!!!!
Out of all the waiting times in this process this has to be one of the most frustrating!!!!
-
Time to start booking plane tickets then. We don't plan on leaving for almost a month so we should have the visa by then right?
e
don't book anything until you have visa in hand.....so many people been booking and losing money because visa not ready on time.
-
anyone heard anything yet...my case status date changed to 26th June yesterday and then 30th June today

Good afternoon forum friends, Montreal Embassy just emailed me! Even though my ECAS still says At NVC (?)... Just as a reminder of my upcoming interview and the documents I need to bring with me that day. I would like to kindly ask a few random questions if you don't mind.
1. I have been organizing my documents in bulks ( trip to destination A, trip to destination B, etc) that include receipts, photographs, baggage tags, hotels, restaurant slips, etc. using metal clips, and I am wondering if this would be an issue at the metal detector entrance of the embassy? I think It would be a little stressful to remove all of them, there, and have then a bag of all documents flying around, if they request to remove them. Should I use, elastic bands instead?
They scan the docs through the X-ray machine - you go through the metal detector so should be fine.
2. My interview is set for 10AM, should I come for 7AM, and see if they let me in early?
no - go for 09.30am. Mine was at 10am and when I reached at 7, they told me to come back 15 mins before the interview. The security guard will turn you away if you come that early.
3. My husband and I are driving to Montreal, and I would like him to go up with me to the embassy, would they let him? I know he won't be allow to the interview window, but could he wait in the waiting room?
They sometimes do and sometimes don't...there were a about 3-4 couples who came with their partners and they came in. Tell him to come and see what the guard says.
4. We have been together for over 15 years, but only until a few years ago are allowed to move the US, how much information do I take with me? I have collected everything for the entire time; even the envelopes, and airplane tags, etc for almost all we have done together. How do I select what to take and what not to take? I am afraid to take too much or too little.
take it all to be on the safe side. I took everything and they never asked for any proof or pictures.. - rather be prepared. Just take a few trips together if you don't want to take everything.
5. The P4 letter ask for photocopies of documents, do they mean, copies of only : Police, birth, marriage certificate? or copies of all documents to prove or relationship as well as domicile?
They will only ask to see the originals but I took photocopies of everything just in case. I took photocopies of everything on the P4 List. plus his proof of domicile photocopies as I couldn't take his original birth certificate or passport. but they didnt ask me for any photocopies. You don't need photocopies of any proof of relationship - its the official docs they ask for.
Thank you, and please if you think of anything else, let me know!
Hi Duvalin - ^^ see above^^
when you get a number and you go wait upstairs - don't be worried if its not in order...i noticed different windows for when they collect docs = one was calling all the odd numbers and the other even numbers. so be patient. they called us n order for the interview.
