  1. One thing I'm confused about is that for my RFE it said to mail my response to an address in Lee's Summit near Kansas City yet I'm in New York.. Does it go there then get forwarded or does it mean mine is being processed by a different office?

It's the National Benefits Center. All applications (for AOS anyways) are sent there. This is where they check all the paperwork and where the RFE's are sent to.

  2. That is so stupid , they should have told you all in the first RFE , looks like people in that office need to get more organized and realize what they do effect people's lives

I wish they would just tell me all at once what I need to send. Looks like they check a part of it, then send a RFE, then check another part and send another. I really hope this is the last one though.

Omg, what the hell. That seems SO inefficient.

As someone else stated though, good on you for remaining so upbeat. I know I wouldn't be nearly as calm. Hope this gets straightened out STAT.

    Yes, very inefficient.

Maybe it has to do with what I previously sent since it was so fast. They got the response on March 29 and now I already have another one.

Oh well !! I'm at their mercy, so I'll just comply with what they ask and wait my turn.

  3. Omg this is ridiculous but I'm glad you're looking past it and finding the positive out of the situation.

Thanks, I don't know what they could possibly want this time.

That is ridiculous! I can't imagine why they wouldn't just send this RFIE's information with the original unless it's in reference to what you just sent? Maybe because you just sent in the updated i864 with that name filled out, they're asking for all the evidence again?

Thanks, if it has to do with the prior RFIE, then at least I didn't get denied right away. I really hope I dont have to re-send all the taxes documents, it was huge!

  4. Hi fellow Feb 2016 AOS filers, my story, adjusting from K1

    Filed- Feb 10th

    NOA 1- Feb 12th

    Biometrics- March 11th

NOA 2 APPROVED- March 31st (20 days after Biometrics, no interview, no RFE's, No potential interview waiver letter)

    GC being produced

    GC in mail-April 6th

    still waiting for actual card

So got approved in approx. 6.5 weeks, no interview, still in shock, it seems there is just no predicting this journey, I was expecting to wait 6-12 months for the GC, I had put it to the back of my mind, after being one of those stuck in the Texas center backlog for over 6 months! So good luck with your AOS journeys and I wish everyone speedy approvals, you just never can predict anything on this journey.

    Congratulation!! That was super fast.

  5. I'm wondering Ipod, was your RFE for initial evidence or additional? We're almost on the same timeline in California, LA. I send my stuff in Tuesday and am waiting for a response. I'm hoping you get approved, so it's positive news for me.

Hi, the RFE was for initial. It was because when you fill form I-864, if you delete the name on the last page (the one where it says additional information) it also deletes it on page 3. I didn't notice it when I printed the form and sent it with no name on page 3.

It's common enough that they have an automatically generated form for the RFIE.

I got this a week after my biometrics, and they got it back about 2 weeks after that, so it should have only slowed down my case for 2-3 weeks.

I will keep updating this thread, so you will know.

    Good luck to you!

  6. Some sad updates about my case. It seems that my I-485 package is lost somewhere between the lockbox and USCIS :-(

The receipt number for my I-485 package never worked when I tried to check my status online. I called USCIS several times and every time I was told to wait for 45 days and it will show up. It never did!

Yesterday was the 46th day. I called and after being on hold for an hour and talking to different people, I was told there is no record of my I-485 package in their system. The package was received by the lockbox, hence I got the I-797 and the check was cashed, but it was never entered to the system. They told me to contact the lockbox via email and asked them what's happened to my case, which I did. I'm not sure when I'm going to hear back from them :-(

Does anyone know the phone number of Chicago lockbox?

Oh no! That is seriously not nice. I hope they find it for you and that the delay is not too long. Good luck and keep us updated.

  7. Was getting a little discouraged seeing everyone get updates and good news, but I checked on our case on a whim and it's been updated to New Card is Being Processed! We're skipping the interview, I suppose. The wording is weird, so naturally I'm having a little bit of anxiety that it doesn't mean what I think it means, but I'm sure it means that my husband's green card will be mailed very soon!

Keep up the hope, everyone! Patience will pay off! :)

Congratulation!! It's nice to hear about everybody's success.

  8. Donair is popular in the maritimes (I think Nova Scotia claims the best and they are good!) Alberta is huge on them. I had not heard of them in BC, but I was a kid. I am pretty sure you can get them in Sask as well.. No Idea about MB,ON, QU though.

Like Gyro - excellent after bar meal!

I'm from Quebec and I never heard of a Donair, most likely it's a regional specialty.

  9. Well I just checked and my case is ready for interview date which I am happy but I really wish there was no interview , I'm nervous like crazy cause me n my husband have nothing under our names together yet do to his work schedule , when would I get the physical letter does anyone know?, I'm getting butterflies in my tummy :(

I wish there was no interview and they would just mail the green card lol

My goodness, that was fast!! Congratulation!! No RFE for you which is so great. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I wouldn't worry too much about having things in your names, if it comes up, just explain why. Since you're a real couple I'm sure you'll do great.

  10. Guys,

When I was filling out the i864 again, I realized something VERY IMPORTANT. When you fill out Page 3, part 4, it automatically fills out the name on Page 12 part 11 Additional information. If you delete the name in additional information, it will delete the name in Page 3, part 4. Please keep this in mind when filling out the form. I think a lot of people, including myself may have reached the end of the form and deleted the name in additional info so as not to confuse the uscis officer, not realizing it deletes the form in part 4. Hope it helps anyone reading this.

My goodness! That is too much! Now I know why so many people got the same exact RFE. Thanks for letting us know, I was wondering how I could have made such a stupid mistake.
