Anyone having problems checking there status on the USCIS site?
Yes, it's not working right now. The site must be down for some reason.
-
For anyone who said they received text/e-mail when their status changed to approvals/interview ready... did you guys sign up on the USCIS website to receive them, or are these still updates being received via text/e-mail because of the form sent with your AOS packet? Because I filled out that form and did get all the initial texts/e-mails and was wondering if checking the USCIS website was even worth it if I'm going to be notified when it changes anyways.
I signed up on the USCIS website and I have been getting updates from there. You can sign up to get notifications or just check using your case number.

Did biometrics today, in and out in less than 10 min - Philly Drummond rd office basically empty. It would have been a decent day if I didn't get a notice of an RFE on the way when I got home....
Oh no! That's disapointing considering you were just done with biometrics.
I hope it's something small. Waiting for the letter is agonizing. Let us know how it goes.

Great news! I thought it was an April Fools joke, but I just got an email that my wife's cases were updated. The status for EAD says "Case Terminated Benefit Received by Other Means". Her AOS status says "New Card is Being Produced".
I can only assume her AOS has been approved without an interview!!! (and much much faster than we thought)
No way!!! That is so great!!! Congrats.

Hi well my package was delivered on 03/21 and not even check cashed as yet
Took a while for me too, I wouldn't worry just yet. It took almost 2 weeks until I got the NOA1 letters too.
-
I had my biometrics appointment of March 23rd in Philadelphia. Today I got an email for Application Type: I765, APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION. It states that my case has been transferred
to another office for processing and sent you a transfer notice. The notice explains why we transferred your case.
I wonder what it means!
First I heard of in the February fillers. Let us know more when you get the letter.
-
Anyone received Employment authorization yet?
I don't think so, but, since a lot of the January fillers just got theirs, I would say that it may take another month.
-
On second thought, better be safe than sorry, I would send it everything you have, including tax returns/transcripts.
If you can, I guess it can't hurt to send a joint sponsor form.
-
I just ignored the joint sponsor part and re-sent the correctly filled I-864.
I assumed that because I had left part 4 blank, it generated the joint sponsor part.
They already received my response, so I'll let you know what they say.
By the way I really did leave a part blank, it was at the bottom of the page where they ask for the name. I don't understand why they would send it when you filled it out correctly.
-
Ours said it was received, and then we got 2 status changes saying that a notice failed to be delivered. I was scared those were notices saying there's something wrong with our reply to the RFE, but now that they're giving us an interview date, I'm not so sure. Hopefully that means our reply was fine.
I guess they liked what you sent.
Thanks for your reply and best of luck to you.

My husband's I-485 case status just changed to "case is ready to be scheduled for an interview"! But we haven't gotten a single word about his EAD and AP. Is that normal?
Great news !!! Let us know more when you hear.
Did they ever sent you something or updated your I-485 after you sent the RFE? Mine just says they received it, but not if what I sent was correct.
-
I got the same exact RFE because I also forgot to fill the name. I only sent in the revised I-864.
I did not re-send the tax returns since they were so big and nothing has changed since we sent it (2014 ones).
Hopefully they accept what I sent. Please let me know what you sent. Thanks.
-
I just got the confirmation that they got my RFE response.
I mailed it on the 23rd, so you get news pretty fast.

For the driver's license, it really depends on the state. I know that in California they only accept the I-797 once it's approved or the EAD or the green card.
-
MASH, how did biometrics go? We tried to go to the DMV today to get a permit, but apparently, they didn't accept the I797 NOA1 as evidence, even though it says on the website that they do! The majority of my interactions with people that work for the state show that they're incompetent and lazy. We have to go back AGAIN to do this. So frustrating.
They only accept the approved I797, so I think it's the NOA2. They should accept the EAD though.

Hey everybody
I am February filer like most of you. I had done my biomectric on the March 9, 2016 and the USCIS online status change to "case ready to schedule for interview" on the March 19, 2016. Earlier this morning i just saw that the status change again to 'Interview is scheduled . My interview is schedule on the May 2, 2016. Anyway we are applying AOS for K1 visa. I pray everyone of you will got a good news too.
Great!! Our time is coming. Best of luck and let us know about your interview.

They didn't even say we need one they said that I had indicated I have a joint sponsor which I do not (talk about confusing). We don't have one either and it would be difficult to get one honestly. He already asked his mother and his stepfather but they seem to be hesitant for some reasons.. ugh
And I don't feel like we need to obtain a joint-sponsor when we are way above the poverty guideline.
I will resent the same paperwork that we already did with everything that we possible can:
form i864
IRS tax transcript for 2014 tax year (filing jointly)
my W-2s for last 5 years from working for State of Texas.
Extension form filed with IRS stating that our paperwork is not done yet and we asked IRS for an extension to file 2015 tax return (automatic extension for 6 months)
Self-employment loss and profit statement form Quickbooks (need to be done by me, ugh) for 2015 ans beginning of 2016
Husband's Bank statement (deposits only- has been sent already) for last 12 months
My bank statement for last 12 months
My pay-stubs for last 6 months
assets: (even though we don't need them but still)
Car titles (7 in my husband's name, 1 mine, 2 co-owned) in my husband's and my name.
KBB value of the cars
possible 1099-misc for 2016 from his employer (sub contractor)
employment letter from his employer for 2016 (current income)
If that's not enough, I don't know what could possibly be needed then...
Seems to me you sent more than enough, I'm sorry you're going through this.
Now I'm afraid I'll get another one.
Please keep us posted.
-
well just received our RFE in the mail and there is nothing specific in it as usual... ;(
But our income meets all the requirements, the only thing is that I forgot to include my W-2 from lawful source but my husband meets the poverty guideline with his own income and it shouldn't be a big deal at all.
Mine was also asking for the joint sponsor's documents, but we don't have one.
I just re-filled the form and sent it.
These rfe's don't make much sense. I'll let you know what happens.

I came under vwp... But with no intention..
And ive been through the k1 before - 2 years ago,, but than decided its too early.. Broke up.. But kept in touch.. Started dating again.. In december Wanted to come to visit for only 2 weeks and she proposed and asked to stay.. i guess they will kinda like our story
Aahhh, yes it is nice. Best of luck to you.
-
I have noticed that too, however I believe that only k1's can get their card without doing an interview.I feel like the speed depends on what type of visa you came in on. It seems the people who's timelines say "other visa" rather than a K1 for instance, get priority. Which is not to take away from Simon because that's amazing news, more so for myself to not get too excited haha. I seriously hope I'm wrong though.
-
Omg.. Just woke up as i received a message from uscis... My case has been updated...
Aaaaaaand... Your interview is scheduled. Your interview is on April 29, 2016.
The other cases show case received.
I am so happy right now - good luck to all of you!
That's nice!! Let us know how it goes. What visa did you adjust from?
-
Hi everyone, just an update on my AOS timeline. NOA for I-485, I-765 and I-131 were all on Feb 10th. Biometrics letter on Feb 20th and I did my biometrics on appointment date Mar 8th.
On the USCIS website my I-485 case has been updated (as of Mar 16th) to say "Case is ready to be scheduled for a interview" but no update on EAD/AP yet. Also no letter yet with interview date.
It's good that my case is being worked on I guess, but it could still be some time before I receive any cards or even have the interview.
That's great!!! Let us know when you get the interview letter.
-
oohh I'll make sure to do that thank you!
I also did it online and I have been receiving letters to my new address since then.
Make sure that when you change the I-130, you do it under the petitioner's name (the US spouse).
The other forms are under the beneficiary's (immigrant) name.
-
Is it possible to get more than one?
I don't know, but I guess everything is possible. I'm crossing my fingers that this will be it though.
