YES it is so good!!!! They also have a Poutinerie that opened on hollywood blvd.. its pretty good but not in the best location:/ kinda annoying where it is located. haha i like the vibe at RBC super chill:) gets packed on any canadian holidays or for hockey/CFL!!!!!

Is this Smoke's Poutine? I saw that the other day. I agree about the location not being the best.

  2. if you ever come to LA you should check out redondo beach cafe! it is owned by ex cfl players from montreal and they have tim coffee, poutine, mtl smoked meat, nainamo bars and show all the canadian hockey, baseball and football games! it is a great little spot when you are craving something canadian:) they also celebrate all the canadian holidays!

Really!! I had never heard of it. I'll have to try it one of these days. Thanks for sharing.

  3. Hi, iPod. Does your case status online changed from accepted to something else or it still shows that?

Yes it changed to request for initial evidence sent.

So if any of you didn't send your 2015 returns, I would preemptively send them to USCIS to avoid the RFE--I saw some posters in the January filing thread just receive RFE's for that.

I saw that too and I was thinking it may be because of that. I don't know what I'm going to do if it is.

  4. Got my RFE today: 1. household size calculated incorrectly "size of 0 or 1 is not acceptable"' (I wrote 3!) 2. Income doesnt meet 125% (My salary is at least 4-5x the limit!) Ummm okkk where's my highlighter! 3. Need English translation of Birth Certificate

    Well busy evening for me

I've noticed so many RFE's for I-864 too. I don't understand if you follow the instructions and make enough money there shouldn't be a problem.

The birth certificate is an easy fix, so I know you'll be fine.

    Best of luck to you!

  5. Hi guys!!! Just want to share the great news today!!! I received a text that says that I am scheduled for an interview on April 18!!!

I can't believe it went so fast!!! ???

Awesome!! You just gave us hope, even tough my case hasn't even been touched yet.

Did you get any updates on the USCIS website?

What visa did you adjust from?

    Good luck !!

Ok everyone--this may be a weird question, but I already posted this on another thread that wasn't related and I'm freaking out about something. I guess I didn't realize I wasn't the petitioner anymore--I thought the USC was still referred to as the petitioner and the foreigner was referred to as the beneficiary. But for AOS, the petitioner is actually the foreigner. So in form I864, I checked the box that said I was the petitioner sponsor and that I was petitioning for my relative. I also referred to myself as the petitioner on my cover letter and checked the box about military status for petitioner sponsors only...will this lead to an RFE? So confused--please help!

EDIT--it looks like I'll be ok according to another poster. Phew! Crisis averted.

You should be fine, the petitioner is the USC in the I-864 (from my understanding of the form).

  6. Good news and bad news.

Good news: we got our new biometrics letter and our RFE in the mail!

Bad news: the RFE letter says they need a translated birth certificate from my husband. That's an easy fix, except the birth certificate we sent IS TRANSLATED. It's in French on the top, and English on the bottom. I even put a note showing them how to read it. I guess reading to the bottom of the piece of paper is too much for USCIS!

That's great that they sent you the biometrics letter quickly.

I translated my birth certificate myself, it was very easy to do. I did it in a word document and I just used the same exact format as the original. At the end I put the certification note, signed and dated it.

I hope they accept mine as I can see they are very particular about what they want.

ETA: http://www.visajourney.com/content/translations this is the guide I used.

  7. I will be doing my bio as well in Dallas more then likely once I recieve my letter, I'm just wondering if I need my marriage certificate when I go as I am going to keep my last name the same, I just might since you never know I am just saying if I forget it since I am keeping my last name do you think they will still ask ?

They look at the name on your letter, so as long as your ID and letter matches you don't have to bring the certificate.

  8. I got my letter for Request for Initial Evidence (I-485) today.

    Says:

    1) Form I-864, Affidavit of Support, was submitted; however, Page 3, Part 4 of the petitioner/sponsor's Form I-864 list someone other than the petitioner/sponsor or Page 3, Part 4 is blank.

The name where I should have put my husband's name is indeed blank, everything else (address) is filled... sigh

Submit a completed and signed Form I-864 for the petitioner/sponsor listed on Form I-130 or Form I-129F. Even if a joint sponsor will be used, the petitioner/sponsor must submit Form I-864. Also, provide copies of the petitioner/sponsor's most recent Federal income tax returns and all supporting tax documents (W-2s, 1099s, Form 2555, and tax schedules)

We provided tax returns and supporting documents the first time, is this just because we're resending a new I-864? Since we sent the original package my husband has done his taxes... would 2015 be considered the most recent tax return now? Can we change the new I-864 on page 6 Most Recent Income to be 2015, even though the old one was 2014?

    2) Form I-864 Affidavit of Support was submitted from a joint sponsor; however, the names listed on page 1 and page 3 are not the same.

We did not submit from a joint sponsor, I don't know what this is about, perhaps because of the previous mistake of me leaving my husbands name out on Page 3?

Also, for the cover letter, where I wrote ORIGINAL SUBMISSION, what do I change that two? Revised Submission?

    Thanks

I can't help you, but I wanted to say thanks for sharing. Maybe try posting a separate thread so people who have been through this can help you.

Try to call them and talk to a supervisor (I think they're called tier 2).

    Best of luck to you.

  9. Just a word of caution.

I just read a thread on this forum the other about someone who got pulled over driving in CA with their Canadian drivers license and they ended up in court and they had to pay a $1,000 fine.

Of course the DMV wouldn't give him a license because he didn't have his EAD or other required ID's, but the judge was unmoved.

Maybe the laws or rules have changed since I believe that thread was from a while ago.
