My wife's immigrant visa interview today was successful! Visa to be picked up in a week. Glory be to God. I pray for good news very soon for those still to receive interview appointment dates. Cheers!!

Hi all. I have learned over the past 12 months on this journey that perseverance is an important attribute one must have. I never gave up and I have God backing me up. If I told my wife the details of all I have gone through in the hands of USCIS and NVC, she would think I'm a superhero
To be honest, I wasn't expecting August interview because I thought August was filled up last month but my wife's interview is now only 7 days away! Now, we'll be on the rush to get her medicals done in the next 2 days so the result can be ready before Thursday.
We are fully aware that this "battle" in not yet over - there is one final hurdle to scale. But we believe God will perfect everything He has started in our lives. Counting down to the day I see my lovely wife again at the airport (don't know which one yet )
Thank you dwheels and thanks to everyone on this forum. You alll rock!

Your case can be expedited for interview based on two main reasons that I know of: (1) emergency medical situation of which you have to provide a letter from a medical doctor, and (2) you are a member of the US Armed forces deploying overseas and you have to provide your deployment orders. There can be other situations which would be at the discretion of the US embassy or consulate to either approve or disapprove.

    Hi.
I agree with what others have told you, asking you to call NVC. Keep dialing until you get through. Here is my other piece of advice: When you have your case number and Invoice Identification Number, ask your husband, as soon as he gets the chance, to email NVC for expeditious processing at NVCExpedite@state.gov
He will have to put your case number in the subject line and attach a copy of his military orders that took him overseas to the email. The body of the email must include your names and dates of birth. He must also state the reason why he is requesting expeditious processing.
Good luck to you guys. Please ask if you need further help.

Don't mind those NVC representatives. They just throw some number of days at your face as if it means nothing. The next time you get through to a customer rep, insist you would like to talk to a supervisor. I have had the same issue with NVC but each time I spoke with a supervisor, they seem to get my issue fixed right away.

I am sorry about the responses that aren't supportive like you pointed out and I understand how you feel. It's really difficult when you are pursuing an important goal and are presented with obstacles. The last time I saw my wife was two days after our wedding in Nigeria and it's been over a year now. I appreciate the many helpful answers I have received on this forum. They have made this journey a bit easier for me. I believe things will work out for you with prayers and the support you get from here. Don't give up. Remember, where there's a will, there's a way!
    Cheers!

Actually, "Yetunde" is the woman's name. You could put your fiance's name in place of "Yetunde" and it would still sound right.

oluandolu got a reaction from Amhara in What's with the supervisor review?
You might want to ask to be transfered to a supervisor. My DS260 was also submitted on May 1st and it was put under supervisor review on June 1st when I called to ask about the status. I kept calling NVC operators but they told me the same story: "please be patient, a supervisor is reviewing your DS260" until June 19th when I asked an operator to transfer me over so I can speak with a supervisor. I was able to talk to a supervisor who reviewed the document on the spot. I got my case complete that same day. If an operator tells you there's no supervisor around you can speak with, tell him or her you would like to be placed on hold even if it takes 2 hours for you to get transferred over. That would show them you really mean business and that you're no longer interested in the generic information they (the operators) provide everytime.

oluandolu reacted to vlad77 in The right form to file the AOS (I-864 or I-864EZ ?)
I-864ez gets more checklists because it has some flaws: some check boxes you mark on the computer turn out to be unchecked when the form is printed out. Just make sure you go through it after printing it out and ckeck all the check boxes, which are to be checked, with a pen. Use this form if you qualify, it's shorter and easier than the basic form.
