Thanks for your reply, do I need a CPR test, to get into Europe? I'm flying in and out of Dublin!

Since July 19th you don't need a PCR test to fly from US to Dublin if vaccinated but you will need a test to return to the USA. The rules for UK are different. And I would check Icelands rules if I were you. Some countries are different but I think Iceland followed witg the rest of the EU by dropping need for tests in July

    Official quote......Entry and Exit Requirements

Are U.S. citizens permitted to enter? Yes

    https://www.gov.ie/en/campaigns/75d92-covid-19-travel-advice/

Is a negative COVID-19 test (PCR and/or serology) required for entry? Yes

However, for travelers arriving into Ireland from the United States who present valid proof of vaccination, no travel-related testing or quarantine is necessary.

If you have valid proof of recovery from COVID in the past 180 days, no travel-related testing or quarantine will be necessary.

If you do not have valid proof of vaccination or recovery, you will need to:

present evidence of a negative result from a RT-PCR test taken within 72 hours prior to arrival into the country

    self-quarantine for 14 days

if you receive a negative result from a RT-PCR test taken from day 5 onwards after arrival into Ireland, you will be able to leave quarantine

Hey everyone, so I'm supposed to leave to Europe on Friday for 15 days, and today I woke up with the news about the new travel restrictions, should I be able to come back to the US without a problem since I'm a green card holder, or I'd be stuck there since I'm not a US citizen yet? Please help.

You won't have any problem. I just returned from Ireland at the start of July. You will need a negative test 72 hours before your return though.

  3. 1. How long is a piece of string. There is no reasoning to time between interview and Oath ceremony. My Oath ceremony is 2 weeks after interview.

    2. You cant apply for passport until AFTER Oath ceremony and the wait is approx 18 weeks to het a new passport

    3. Yes you can travel overseas between interview and Oath ceremony as your Green Card is still in effect and if you have an in date passport from your home country. You do have to fill in a form on th4e day of Oath ceremony and i think it asks have you left the country since interview. They are just checking to see is there any material change to your application

    Good luck

Congratulation, do they allow spouses to the building on the interview date?

I applied on 04/26/2021 and already scheduled for an interview for August ( As you said there is no reasoning to timeline)!

My I751 still pending, hoping to have a combo interview and both cases can be adjudicated together!

No spouses or any guests allowed for interview but with i751 pending it will be different.

  5. Had my interview today and my ceremony is scheduled for Aug 6th. I applied last September so it will be just short of 11 months, start to finish. There is definitely no reasoning to timeline as some people appkied before me haven't heard anything, some have interviewed before me but have ceremony after me, and some applied after me are already finished.

I am hoping by August 6th they may relax the no family allowed attend ceremony.

Interview and test competed today in Atlanta. Approval notice received and now await appointment for Oath ceremony. There is one In Atlanta on August 13th which I do think I will get an appointment for so it's October for the next one.

Good to be nearly done though.

Just home from USCIS office and I already have my Oath Ceremony appointment. August 6th

  7. Quick question that someone may be able to help with

I have my citizenship interview on July 20th and its my understanding that the local office are doing the oath there and then to avoid a crowd at a ceremony

I am due to travel to Ireland on August 11th

I will be applying for my new US passport immediately but will still hold my Irish one. My issue is that my Green card will be handed in at the interview/Oath taking and i cant travel on my Irish passport without a stamp/green card

I also wont have an original cert of naturalization due to US passport application

    So my options are

    • Get stamp in passport
    • Don't take oath and hold my Green Card and await a ceremony appt
    • Don't apply for US passport right away and hold my Naturalization cert till I return 9will still need stamp I think)

    Any suggestions

  8. Good morning,

I am just trying to get info so I can make an educated decision a year from now when I become eligible for citizenship. I have an irish pension which is paid into an irish account. We declare it in our taxes at present but it is not taxed here as it is taxed in exempt from tax in Ireland. If I become a citizen will that change as I know US taxes world wide income. Ireland and US have a tax agreement

    Thanks

    Billy
