Just called USCIS since it's been a month and a half and as I mentioned before I never checked my tracking number to nake sure my packet had been delivered. Well I was given a receipt number so I feel relieved! I mailed out my packet on April 10th. I was told I should get my NOA soon.

I think it does say to send 2 separate ones because I also sent one for the application and one for biometrics.... I'm pretty sure because I read it somewhere on there.

Good news CSC filers.
I just received this practice alert re: delays in CSC filing from the American Immigration Lawyers Association:
As of Monday, May 14, 2018, the CSC has started to key-in I-751 petitions again in first in / first out order, starting with those received in early April. Members should start to see receipt notices for I-751 petitions very soon. The CSC date stamps I-751 petitions with the date they are received by the CSC and this receipt date should be reflected on the receipt notices. The CSC advised that there is no need to file duplicate petitions, as doing so could cause confusion and additional delays. Further updates will be provided as they become available.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, I'm sure you'll get it before your wedding. Which, I'm jealous by the way! I've always wanted to visit Brazil...fingers crossed I get to go one day. But yeah, you still got a few months to go before then so I'm sure you'll receive that NOA on time. I actually was planning on making my first trip to Mexico this past weekend, for my dad's birthday, but I moved it up to April because my GC expired on May 3rd and was scared that I wouldn't have everything on time so I'm glad I did move it up considering how slow they are right now. I had not been to Mexico since my parents brought me to the US back in 1998 on a visitor visa we overstayed. My parents moved back to Mexico in April of last year so it had been almost a year since I had last seen them and almost 20 years since I had last been to Mexico. I'm glad I moved it up and was able to go back to my home country already instead of waiting for another 2 years. I had already waited long enough, was supposed to have gone 2 years ago, pretty much right after getting my GC but I got pregnant with my youngest and my midwife did not allow me to travel to Mexico pregnant due to the Zika virus. Buy anyway, I think I got off topic lol don't stress! Enjoy that baby of yours in the meantime, I'm sure he will keep you busy anyway

Hi everyone! It's been a long time. Can't believe it's almost ROC time either! Time has been going by so fast.
So just a little update and how we're doing
I got pregnant around the time of our interview and we now have two handsome boys, Tristan (3 yrs) and Owen(5 mos). We still haven't visited Mexico and I'm dying to go but last year my midwife didn't allow me to go because of the zika virus and now we haven't because both boys need passports and my husband needs to renew his and I became a stay at home mom after having my baby so money has been tight. Hoping to go soon though, especially now that my parents have moved back over there and i miss them so much. But that's about it here.
How's everyone else?

Yelli reacted to LionessDeon in What I don't like about the US
Uh Oh started it again huh.
Well I could say some of those same things about plenty of other countries around the world. You are generalizing, stereotyping, and lumping every Amercian into the same category. You are very wrong. I know plenty of hardworking, dedicated, never been on government assistance, caring individuals that fight everyday for what they believe in. Government assistance was put in place to help those in need, there may be abusers to the system, but the benefits outway the bad.
As far as #6, yes we are patriotic and anyone who chooses to put their safety and life in jeopardy to fight for others is a hero all day in my book.
So here are your options:
1. Leave and go back to your country if you don't like it here.
2. Do something about it. Instead of making these whining posts go out and do something actively to improve the situation
Peace

Hi,
Sorry about your situation.
If he does not marry you, then you must leave the U.S. before your 90 days are up. As a K-1, marriage to him and filing for AOS is the only way for you to stay legally.
He's cheating on you. Why marry a cheater? You will find a better partner who respect you.
Best of luck

How often did you guys fight before you came to the U.S.?
Have you ever gotten into a big fight like this before?
How long have you been together?
My 2 cents, use your own money, go home, rebuild, and ditch this loser forever.

Yelli reacted to Cathi in Very tired , no job yet!
My husband is an engineer and he got a job at Walmart until he found a job in his field. Many employers will not hire a foreigner with no US job experience. Get yourself at least a part time job somewhere, anywhere...even if it's minimum wage

Sometimes you have to just take what you can get at first, if you want to work right away.
My wife had a masters degree in education from the Philippines. She was a school teacher, and then became the principal of a 1000 student elementary school before coming here. But the first job she took here was in housekeeping at a nursing home, doing laundry. Then she got a second job part time working in housekeeping at a hospital cleaning rooms. She got a 3rd job part time working in food services at an elementary school cafeteria. So she had 3 jobs at that point at the same time. So she was well educated, but worked at jobs that were available, and poured her heart into it.
She still works as a resident assistant at an assisted living, and is an airman in the U.S. Air Force Air National Guard, but is finishing up a degree to become a registered nurse now. She opted for a complete career change at her own choosing. But the point is she worked hard at what jobs were immediately available to her and did not consider any job beneath her. All things work out in time.

You are way too picky. I have graduate degrees, and more than 8 years experience working in academia in my country. Yet I worked a low paying, night job at walmart for a while. I had another job in education in which I commuted for 60 miles, waited for two hours, then took two more buses for an additional 90 minutes. Wake up at 2 every morning so that I could be at work at 8. Thankfully, that was a temp job, because it was difficult on me.
Currently, I have a better paying position and my commute time is 45 minutes. Yes, I use two buses because I can't drive. Honestly, if you really want a job, and don't live in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere, you can find one.

Yelli got a reaction from TBoneTX in Can i use a husband car?
Hello! Going to jump in here real quick. I am an auto insurance agent in Texas, just do remember that ever state is different.
You do need to be added to his insurance policy. Any driver in the household that has access to the car needs to be included in the policy otherwise the company may not cover. When you don't have to be on the policy is when you don't live in the same household because you don't have daily access to the car, which is not your case since you live with him. So just get added on as soon as possible before anything happens. All you have to do is call your husband's insurance agent and ask them for the quote and see weather you have to come into the office or if it can be done over the phone.
Good luck with everything!

Please don't spread this lie. Countless people on this forum have adjusted fine.
We are getting totally derailed from the topic at hand. The OP has the guide telling what to do. Warnings of consequences have been given, do we really need to fear monger?

Yelli reacted to aaron2020 in Marriage/AOS
Everyone who saids that this is risky needs to do some research. Look up Matter of Batista and Matter of Cavozos. USCIS can not deny the AOS of an Immediate Relative of a USC base on immigrant intent unless the person lied at the POE.
It's perfectly okay for them to adjust. The law allows it. Immigrant intent is irrelevant.

Carrie1978 I'm almost in the same situation as ur husband, I stayed my visa 7 yrs now, Visa still hasn't expired, I just sent my aos package and just last week me and my husband flew to vegas, I was a little scared because all I have is my Dominican passport as id, they didn't check anything just the boarding pass to match the name on the passport, right now we are planning a weekend getaway to orlando, I just suggest yout guys travel with you NOAs, marriage certificate just in case they ask for something and make sure not to get a flight that would have a stop out of the USA or close to a boarder, hope this helps, good luck
