    Is this real life? Sigh....
OP, you should get to know this man before applying for a K1 visa (which will inevitably get denied). He should also get you know you a little better, after all he might decide he didnt choose the right BOY for him and change his mind.
This is ridiculous. I'm sorry to sound so harsh, but it's applications like this that make it harder for other people to get approved. People who actually have a bonafide relationship and already know they want to spend the rest of their lives with the other person. Not to find out if they 'really love each other'.
OP, please use your common sense with this process.

Some of you sound a bit harsh in the things you are saying to him....he may have spent alot of time and put in alot of effort into this relationship thinking everything is ok. There is no shame in him being worried of events just before hes meant to receive his greencard. Some of you are soo quick to judge others even before you consider everything. Its not a crime for certain people from certain parts of the world to want to be with their loved ones and also have a chance at a better life in this country legally. The fact that someone wants to know his options at a certain stage in the visa process and not just packing up their bags and going to their country doesnt mean he was in it just for the green card. Like all men, everyone tries to make the best out of the current situation, if things would be better off here for him and can be done legally than just going back to a bad situation why cant he or mustnt he exploit it? Not all countries are the same, not everyones circumstances are the same, people have got to realise and respect this before they make comments to people. The world is far bigger than some of you seem to realise, we need alot of perspective instead of being judgemental.

So many question marks. I don't know, I don't feel many would agree to having a baby with someone they don't love just to gain citizenship to a country where you have the threat of Donald Trump becoming president, but maybe I'm biase.
We are both living here. Filed for spousal visa with an attorney 2 weeks ago.

I don't have the answer to your prayers, just want to offer some encouragement. We've all been in long distance relationships and if we can do it, so can you. Husband and I did it for 7 years before we were ready for marriage. We were 20 when we met, so I totally understand and respect that you aren't ready for marriage yet. My husband is from London. I understand how hard it is to work in London and scrape together the funds to fly to America for a week at a time twice a year. It was really hard for him to come up with the money at the end of the month, every month to try to save... Then spend it all on a flight and start from zero again. It's physically and emotionally draining.
But you can make your relationship a priority. If you want it bad enough, you will find a way. There's nothing special about me or my husband. We just never gave up on us. And it was absolutely worth it.

We had to wait 4 years to get married. We all survived it and so did our love. Its not hard if its true love. And where theres a will theres a way.. So i think marriage is a bad idea to use as the excuse of not being able to be together. So be together but see where life takes you all. If its the same in a year or 5 then get married. I dont believe people have to get married to be together in this situation. Its simply idiotic to marry someone you dont know. If so, get a good prenup and your papers in order in case it doesnt last when the first few months are over and real life hits ya with normal life situations.. You dont know the person that well yet.. Love is blinding for awhile. Just saying. Think about it again.. Im sure there are ways. We all had to do it. Long distance for 3 years. Married for one now. Made it fine even if we couldnt be together fully for the first 3!

I am sorry to say this; but you meant you had to be fair and meet the rest of the candidates to BE SURE he was the right one whereas you just contradicted yourself by saying you were fairly sure he was the one in the same sentence?
    Alright then......

Hi Gary, but Kim said that you wanted to spend the time on the K-1 to see if you really do love eachother... and here you say you do love eachother, so this is mismatched.
It doesn't matter how you met, or what happened in the beginning, but what everyone is saying is that your relationship is not developed enough for the visa, or for marriage for that matter. Being online is not the same as being in person. You should spend a lot more time together, in person.
If Kim has never flown before, why does he want to come and live in the US with a man he met for ONE day?
    Good luck.

If you're not certain of one another and, as you keep saying, not in a rush then why are you filing so soon? Take some time and get to know one another in person. What on Earth would you do if you rushed in to a marriage with someone you barely know, move to a country where you only know that one person and rely on them for literally everything and turned out you were two totally different kettles of fish and couldn't stand one another? Surely it would be better for you both to take the time, take a vacation together, live under the same roof for a couple weeks a few times a year or so and see if it really does feel right. You'll know as soon as he starts picking his nose or you put the loo roll on the wrong way. Little niggly things matter as much as the bigger things and they usually present themselves after longer periods of time spent together when you're genuinely relaxed around each other.
    Just a thought.
