Congratulations on receiving the 'welcome letter' email. It's nice to see that some of us stuck in pending FBI name checks are advancing!

We waited about a year and a half from the time we got married to file for AOS. At our interview the officer asked why we waited so long and we truthfully admitted that it was due to procrastination. She simply laughed and said "I'd say so". We were technically 'approved', but pending the FBI name check. You should be fine!!!

Has now been 32 days since our interview and 88 days since we filed the AOS.

The stamp is something that is sometimes given to successful applicants at the interview so that they may travel and start working until they receive the greencard. Once you receive the greencard, that is all that you need to do everything else.

Ditto, the processing timeframe has disappeared from mine as well.

I wonder if the FBI name checks are done on just a maiden name and/or also a married name, of a female AOS applicant???

Congratulations on getting an interview date so quickly! I did too, but am now still waiting on that dreaded FBI name check!

Does anyone know exactly at which point of the AOS process the FBI name check is initiated? At our interview the officer seemed to indicate that it is started soon after the USCIS originally receives the AOS application. Also, we were wondering if the name check is only performed on the "alien"?
