Was the phone number your issue? What format did you use? I first tried putting it like this: 1234567890. It didn't let me. Then I tried with the U.S. code in front: 11234567890. It didn't work either. Then I gave up. Did you use any other signs (like "-" or "(/)")?
I also wonder if it has anything to do with their planned outage ("Planned Outage: December 27, 2019 - January 2, 2020"). But at the same time I am not surprised that it didn't let me use this phone number, since it is a pre-paid type of phone (with a sim card), not a regular one with a contract and a monthly plan (I don't spend much time on the phone, so I don't like to overpay for services I don't need).
Yes the first time I tried it said it didn’t recognize my number. I didn’t add any extra codes, just the area code + number, and no spaces or symbols, just like this: 1234567890. So I just closed the tabs and started over.

I tried to register to download tax transcripts online but unfortunately the IRS website won't let me - they claim that they can't verify my phone number ("We were unable to verify that this phone number belongs to you with the phone provider. Please double check that your phone number was typed correctly or try a different number.") So I can't order them online. I guess I'll just have to wait until I file.
But thanks for the info! It was worth trying!
I just registered right now and it gave me the same message and other issues, I tried multiple times until it finally let me. You should try again!

Hey guys quick question: how did you include your tax return proof? Are transcripts ok and can I just screenshot the pages and attach them one by one or is there a better way to attach these files?
TIA. 🙏🏼

Hey all, nice to be back here so we can all stress out together 😅
For those of you who have already filed online, did you download the pdf form like the website suggests, or did you file your form directly online? What’s the difference?

You guys I finally received my NOA! 😭 I was getting so anxious because I have to present my documents for new job next week and my green card expires March 10.
Also my passport is expired and I was hoping I didn’t have to pay $120 for a new one just to get an I-551 stamp.
Here’s my timeline:
Jan/11 - sent package
Jan/14 - package delivered
Jan/17 - text from USCIS confirming they received it
Jan/18 - money order cashed
Feb/17 - submitted e-request
Feb/19 - got reply from them saying they mailed the notice (false because I didn’t receive it) and that they’ll send a copy
Feb/25 - NOA/extension letter received
It's almost like some service centers need that e-request push from us to get things going to send us the NOA. I’m in California and my case is here, (WAC).

I’m wondering – on your case status online on the USCIS website a lot of you have the message that says “we received your case and you don’t need to do anything at this time.” Has any of you that has this message received your NOA or biometric yet? My case status says “we received your case and sent you the receipt notice” but I haven’t received anything, does anyone else have this message too and hasn’t received their notice? I’m wondering if this message even makes a difference. 🤔😩

I wonder if a new job can be joined without the NOA? Given that biometric is already complete. 😕
When I got hired for my new job they sent an email with a link to documents that are acceptable to bring for them to e-verify. Click on the links that say List A/List B/List C :

Is anyone at WAC (California I believe) getting ANYTHING?
WAC case here 🙋🏻♀️ I haven’t gotten anything other than a text last week saying “we’re still reviewing your case.” I’m getting more anxious as I’m switching jobs on March 14 and my gc expires March 10. 😩

For those living in California,, how and to what address did u send your package?
There are two addresses, it depends on whether you send through USPS or FedEx/UPS. You can find this on the uscis website:

Did anyone get a text and/or email?
I got this text today: USCIS Message: We are still reviewing your case. We will notify you when your status changes.
So I immediately went to check my email and got this:
Dear USCIS account holder,
Due to a recent email outage, we were unable to send notices about case updates. We have fixed the problem, but to ensure you have the latest information on your case status, please log into your USCIS online account. So I went and checked my case on their website but there’s no update there, still says “your case was received and we sent you the receipt notice.”
Ughhhh this is killing me! 😩 And I also start a new job in March 14 and my GC expires March 10. 😭

Okay. Thanks ! Still didn't get any text yet.
If you included the form to get text notifications with your ROC form then you should get a text soon.

I finally had an update today from moneygram that my money order was cashed on the 18th. 💃
Quick timeline:
- File sent on Jan 11.
- Delivered on Jan 14.
- Case received by USCIS Jan 16 (as per USCIS site).
- Got the “case received” text on Jan 17, (case # starting with WAC).
- Money order cashed Jan 18.
Now just hoping for no RFE. 😰

Did you send through USPS Priorty? I also sent it through USPS Priority on 11 Jan and delivered on Jan 14 but they delivered it on wrong zipcode . I have not yet receive any confirmation from USPS .dont know what to do?
Yes we did send it priority. You can check online to track the package, that’s the only way we know it was delivered. We haven’t received the confirmation in the mail either, it takes about a week so we probably will get that this week.

Hey y’all, I sent my file last Friday January 11 through USPS and was delivered on Monday January 14. My window opened on Dec. 10 but I procrastinate too much. 😅
I got a text today (Jan/17) saying my case was received. I added my case on the USCIS website and it says they received it yesterday January 16. So now we wait.
Like some of you mentioned I also feel less worried this time around, but since getting the text and knowing they now have my file on their hands I’ve started overthinking and I feel like I could’ve added a couple more detailed explanations about certain parts of my paperwork, but mainly I’m just hoping I filled out the form correctly lol since we didn’t use an attorney this time.
Best of luck to you all! 🥳

Ok you guys I think I messed up. I wrote my money order payable to US Department of Homeland Security, but since the name is too long, there’s not enough space on the “pay to” box and so I continued on the next line below where the purchaser is supposed to sign. Can I still send it like that? For my AOS I didn’t sign my name on that line so does it matter that I wrote there? I’m about to send my packet! 😭

The I-551 they are asking a front & back copy of is your green card.
Oh ok thank you! I see everyone talk about their I551 stamp that I freaked out for a moment. 🙈

Our window opens on Dec. 10 and I’m just starting to gather my documents. I got a letter from uscis as a reminder which I didn’t think they would do.
Quick question though, it says I must submit a copy of the front and back of my I551 stamp but I don’t have one, is that an issue? Should I have gotten one at some point? I don’t see why but I’m wondering. Or does that just mean copy of my green card? I’m confused lol.

So here I am at work on a crazy busy Monday and my phone starts blinking -- this girl has her green card in production!!
My coworkers (who already tease me about my Canadianess) now think I'm crazy bc of how excited I got.
So glad I have a break from USCIS.
I had to share this news with folks who feel the struggle. And my husband is still asleep and didn't answer the phone when I called!!

What everyone has suggested is correct. When my husband and I got married we only had his parents at the courthouse with us, (I don't have much family here to invite to the ceremony either) we had photos of that and the officer didn't mention anything about lack of other family/guests.
Your bills and other paperwork seems good enough, but do try to gather any photos you have of you two with family and/or friends, and on trips, if any. And no you don't need an attorney at your interview, if your relationship is legit and you both know each other and your relationship well then you have nothing to worry about.

We have not sent our package as we thought we needed to have a joint bank account before sending it. It seemed to me like everyone had it for the initial filing.
I called them just now and no luck.. perhaps going in person is better..
Yeah don't worry you don't need to send that with your package, so wait for your EAD and then open one, it'll be easier.
-
What is your current status in the application process? Have you already sent your package? Are you waiting for EAD?
It's not necessary to send proof of bona fide marriage with the applications, so yes you can open a bank account as soon as you get your EAD.
It would be more helpful to visit banks instead of calling, if you can, as it's always better to talk to people in person than on the phone. So maybe go to a Bank of America location and see if you can try to get them to accept your passport, they are the most helpful with people who don't have a fully established status in the US (although they usually do ask for two forms of ID but it won't hurt to try).
Other than that you can try an online bank or just wait until you get your EAD.

Hey all, I hope you’re doing alright. Well my husband just asked me something I hadn’t considered before and I wonder if any of you know the answer.
Like thousands of others at this time, I haven’t worked since March 14th, and I will get paid for the rest of the month; however if my company decides to not pay us past the 31st, can us green card holders apply for unemployment, since it’s government aid and as such we would have to pay it back?
Or do you think there will be an exception for the current circumstances?
