It is such BS that you have to wait 1.5 years to be rejected in the span of 5 minutes. If the CO feels like the relationship is bogus how about rejecting the petition within 3 months instead of making someone go through the anguish of being denied 1 foot away from the finish line. I never want to hear that ####### that the consular officers are "intelligent" and that they can "spot" fraud. they are a bunch of incompetent, low-life idiots

I'm an August filer, they have only just started a trickle of those, so I might well still be waiting well into March.
I appreciate all the efforts being made here, but I think we have to bear in mind that this guy who is head of USCIS is a civil servant. He gets paid whatever the backlog is at Texas. If he was that bothered about doing his job well you wouldn't have the situation that we see today with the mismatch between the two service centers - its been like that for months, this isn't a new problem. I've dealt with a lot of civil servants over the years, and it isn't like working for a private company - there is no competition. What do you do if Texas is slow? Take your visa application somewhere else? You can't. These civil servants know that, and its a different culture to the real world where we have customers and competition. They are just interested in an easy life, the size of their pensions and getting out of the office at 5pm. Trust me, these things are much more important to him than a 7 month wait for our K1 visas.
I don't mean to belittle the efforts of anyone here - I really appreciate them, and its better to do something than nothing. I just don't want anyone to get their hopes up unrealistically.

When we as humans look at our own body of work, we tend to only see the "mistakes" that we think we've made and - in this case - sections that I'd like to rewrite. That said, Kristin put her awesome proofing skills to work and the rest of the skunkworks team reviewed it and gave it their seal of approval, so I went ahead with it. I felt as though time was of the essence, and so I didn't allow my perfectionist self to continually "improve" it over a period of weeks, like I would normally be inclined to. LOL
I will let you know what happens. Hopefully we'll hear something back from our capitol hill contact this week. The USCIS director seemed shocked by my report, as others have noted who were listening in, because I was careful to explicitly state the processing time discrepancy in days; ergo approximately 22 for the CSC versus 205 for the TSC. He thanked me for the input and said that they are monitoring processing times on a daily basis. So in the end, kind of a generic political answer, but hey, we got our voice heard at the very tippy-top level of the USCIS, right? Can't ask for much more than that, though we won't stop until something changes.
Anyway time will tell. All of us realize that these efforts may not generate much yield, but if you don't stand up and try, then nothing will happen, and for sure. So we must continue trying, at least in my view. FWIW.

Solenta, what is your plan to try and get this reversed? Here on VJ we don't advocate using lawyers except in cases where things are complicated. Your case is officially complex.

I would expect that you would have more of a challenge to provide evidence of your relationship being legit if you just cancelled one and so quickly turned around to make another application. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding your post but it seems like you've already found another fiance and are ready to file again? Or if you are just asking for down the road then I don't see why it would be a concern then. People break up. It happens. The CO would understand such a thing. As I stated though it might raise a red flag if you're filing immediately for a new fiance after withdrawing so recently. But again, I'm not sure if that's what you meant in your post.

In my excitement I forgot to let everyone know that when I received the notification I got an Email, Text message, and it was updated on the Website.
On the day of the notification I checked the USCIS website before leaving work, around 4:45 EST, and the case had not been updated, Since it was a Friday, the start of the weekend and close to 5:00 the end of the work day, I had dismissed the idea of possibly hearing anything until next week. I am not sure if they updated it after I checked it at 4:45 because of the 1 hour time difference between EST and CST or if it gets updated when the system runs the routine to send out the notifications, I am thinking the latter. You can image the surprise when I got it.
With all the recent August approvals I think we can dismiss the questions on how much longer it will take for August filers to get approved, they are processing them and it seems to be fairly steady.

Why would you send in one picture? It seems like you gave your SO until the last minute to download chatlogs and other sorts of things also. This isn't a game Solenta. Are you sure you are in AP? When you eventually get to the greencard phase/removal of conditions (I believe you are in AP and things will resolve themselves) don't play around and send in little material evidence. Send in AS MUCH as possible. Good luck.

Every time someone says they got an approval, I have this giant hope and immediately check my status to only be disappointed. Having hope and being shut down on a daily basis is emotionally draining :/

Ando + Sirik, Dude you went down for a year and you probably got a 3 with a 1.. And YOU know what I mean when I say that.. You made your first Parole elgibility because you had no prior convictions for the same type of crime.. When you were down You probably talked to dozens of people about things.. Then you were paroled and you were given a rundown of do's and dont's.. Asking these people here who were never in your shoes DO NOT KNOW what you and I do.. After you complete 1/2 of your PAROLE and not probation.. [Parole is when you are released from prison] Probation is when you are convicted of a crime but it does not warrant prison time..] You will be able to request another review by your PO or the prosecutor.. I Do Not see how that is happening though because you are considered a flight risk as a parolee... I have been around the block myself...Relax.. nothing can be done besides YOU waiting it out....You knew what you were doing came with a risk of going to Jail for it.. You got caught.. Do not let there be a next time is all I can offer to you as advice...Now your Fiancee is suffering along with you because of YOUR bad decision.. Look for no easy solution because there is NONE and you know it already...Before posting here you already knew you were not being allowed out of the country or even the state for more than 24 hours..I feel for you but whats done is done.. Learn from it and hope your Fiancee is willing to wait with you....5 years on Parole is a long time....You know if you manage to leave and they catch you again you are again a fugitive and will be given an additional 5 years plus the time you did not finish from your first sentence because they granted you an early parole..That sounds like 8+ years to me...Be smart get a fresh start.. Do not hang on to this dream you had in the past...You need someone NOW to be with so you do not VIOLATE your conditions of parole by thinking about running to be with her....This is 2015 YOU will lose.. so it seems like the fastest way to come to the US is just get a tourist visa and marry? those that file a K1 or CR-1 (and have tourist visas or on the VWP) are pretty much wasting their time. Is that correct?

This has been one of the most frustrating things I have ever done. The lack of information is just infuriating.
I hope this is the beginning of a lot more approvals. It has been too long and I hope that soon we can all be in the next phase of this process.
