No, not yet.  Was waiting for several reasons one of them being a loyal Canadian.  This is the struggle.  The 10 gc, not.  I know it will come.

I feel your pain. I didn’t do it happily and I’m doing some of the oath modifications on religious grounds which made it slightly easier to stomach. But at the end of the day I just wanted USCIS off my back and out of my life forever. My husband’s Canadian PR was approved this year though so that made up for it!

Have you heard anything yet?  Was your app transferred to Texas like mine?

I haven’t heard a word...I did get the 18-month letter the day before my original extension letter expired, so I guess that was one bright spot. No transfers for me and no updates since the mass “we last took action on your case” glitch in February. I filed my N-400 in June too though so not sure if that has anything to do with it. Did you file for citizenship?

It will be 18 months from the expiration date on your conditional green card.

Has anyone else who received the 18 month extension experienced this????  My spouse just received her letter (I-797C notice of action stating status has been extended 18 months, replacing the original 12-month I-797C), and the top of the letter said this was just a courtesy copy, and the official notice was sent "according to the mailing preferences you chose on Form G-28".  Thing is, we've never utilized Form G-28, since we don't have an attorney or accredited representative and never have.

Mine does not say this, and it’s also I-797 not I-797C for mine. We never worked with an attorney or accredited rep either.

  4. Thank you all for posting this!! CSC filer here and I’m back in Canada visiting right now, just left the USA yesterday and my original extension letter expires in 2 weeks (I’m coming back next week). I’m the Sacramento field office like a couple others so getting a stamp has been a huge hassle and I haven’t gotten it yet. Go figure, got the Informed Delivery image today showing something from Laguna Niguel (CSC filer) and my hubby won’t be home for a couple of days so I was dying to know what was in the envelope. One day sooner and I would have been able to travel with that second letter...

Just want to confirm, all I can see in the envelope window is page 1 of 2 and a date of August 11th...is the new extension letter two pages?

I just applied for the N-400 and now I have to deal with getting my stamp and apparently my office (Sacramento, CA) doesn't accept infopass appointments... Driver license expiring Sept. 15th. I guess I'm going to try to call them. Good luck everyone!

Sacramento is also my office and after submitting a request for “help” and getting nowhere with them on the phone, and finding that San Francisco also isn’t taking appointments currently, I ultimately just decided I’d go to Reno instead. It’s super easy to book an appointment there at basically any time of day you want and on any date within the upcoming 2-week window. Plus...free parking!

Wow! that is very coincidental! Would freak me out if we were on the same plane! :-)  Yes I am going home for Thanksgiving - taking United with a stop in Chicago.

Thanks! I will try and book this week!

You may have already told me this but what is the zip code for the Reno office?

@theanswerisdance  when you were booking an appointment  at the Reno office, did they ask or care if you are coming from a different office?

The online system doesn’t ask any questions, but I was planning to take a printout of the page that comes up when you try to book in both Sac and SF that says they’re not booking appointments at the moment at either of those offices except on an emergency basis. But I think people go to other local offices aside from their designated one pretty regularly so I’m not anticipating too many problems!

@theanswerisdance  so how did you get one for Jul30? or did you book for Reno office?

Correct, I booked for Reno. They only book 2 weeks out at a time but they had (and continue to have) an abundance of timeslots available in that 2-week window. None of the "wait online at midnight for slots to open up and pray you get one" kind of fiasco that a lot of other local offices seem to have, which was a pleasant surprise.

Yes please let me/us know how that goes. I am in Sacramento  and if difficult to get an appointment  here, I may make one in Reno! And just in case, can you send me the link for that office or contact info?  My 90days before expiration is some time next week.

@tdotca Sacramento is currently not allowing you to book an appointment online, you have to submit a help request and wait for them to call you back. Guy who called me back then told me that it just meant there were no appointments available currently and to keep trying. I explained to him three times that the entire field office has suspended making appointments online except in what they deem "urgent" matters (including getting stamps), and that it wasn't a matter of there simply being no open appointments showing online. He finally clued in and tried to find a way to make me an appointment but had no luck. Tried again and got someone else who went through the same process. Then I tried for San Francisco only to find they're doing the exact same thing as Sac re: suspending online appointment scheduling. So efficient.

@mrs thb, how long a wait did you have at the Reno office? I tentatively booked an InfoPass for July 30th but will be making the trip with a friend, and just wondered if they can wait in the car or if I'm going to be a long time and should have them go find something to do while I wait...

    hi all,

i recieved my my NOA 1 for my r.o.c. application and got my the  18 month extension. I tried to enter the wac number from the noa and it says it does not recognize it .... As i only got the letter yesterday should i leave it a few days before it will be accessable with the wac number?

When you get your biometrics appointment notice, the second receipt number on that will be the one you initially use to track your status, not the number on the NOA

@tdotca I’m Sacramento too! I’ve almost never seen other Sac people on here. Please post back if you successfully get an appointment. I’m not going to try for one until August as my GC expiration isn’t till then and I don’t want to risk being turned away for being more than a month out.

Thanks for quick reply. Since i will also apply based on 3 years marriage and will plan to leave blank part 9.

     Just confirm the answer :

In N-400 form in Part 9.

    1.       How many total days (24 hours or longer) did you spend outside the United States during the last 5 years?

    Answer:

    2.       How many trips of 24 hours or longer have you taken outside the United States during the last 5 years?

    Answer:

    3.       List below all the trips …..

    Answer:

Don’t leave it blank, as that could be assumed that you left it incomplete. Just put “0” or “None” for each of them so that they know you actually completed that section of the form.

    Hi guys,

I'm a silent reader and been following the timelines and progress of everybody on the January Filers thread. I filed my N-400 online on January 13, 2018 and my local office is in Sacramento. Just letting you guys know, since I saw someone is from Sacramento as well, that I just got an alert that USCIS just scheduled my interview. Going to wait for the letter to arrive to know the date Thanks.

Hi @Converts, just saw you’re Sacramento, could you post about your interview experience once you’ve had it? I’m a June filer but Sacramento’s my local office as well.

    Hi,

You need to provide only three years of information and not five years.

Quick question: Only if you feel comfortable answering. I see few people part of this July forum but they have already applied or in process of applying for N-400 this month. Assuming everyone submitted their I-751 90 days before residency card expired then it means everyone has a residency card expired in Oct 2017. In that case, shouldn't you or everyone else be applying for N-400 in July because that's when you have 90 days left in your 3 year anniversary?

    Thanks,

    MB2017

My GC expired August 2017 but I was out of the country for a month when my 90-day window opened and didn’t want to risk not being there for the biometrics notice (and had nobody to check the mailbox for me), so I filed in July instead of May. I would guess others who have filed their N-400 already were in similar positions...not everyone files ROC on day 1 of their 90-day window. Hope that helps!

In N-400 form in Part9. Time Outside the United States section:

After arrival in US that is in 2015, I never left US. That means from last three years I am in US. Before my immigration 2015 I was in my country.

My question is since I was in my home country since 2013 to 2015 before immigration. Can you please verify, below are my answers?

    1.       How many total days (24 hours or longer) did you spend outside the United States during the last 5 years?

    Answer: 730 Days

    2.       How many trips of 24 hours or longer have you taken outside the United States during the last 5 years?

    Answer: One

    3.       List below all the trips …..

Answer: What will be the answer?

If you’re filing based on marriage after 3 years, only include details for the last 3 years. So in your case, you spent 0 days outside the U.S. I don’t understand why by this point they don’t put a notation on the application saying “if you’re applying on the basis that you’ve been married to a US citizen for 3 years, only include the past 3 years of information.”

If you’re paper filing, you could do what a lot of others in the same situation have done and cross out the “5” in the question and write “3” instead. Others have opted to just leave it because the application asks which category you’re applying under so USCIS sees that it’s the last 3 years based on marriage and only takes the last 3 years into account.

I see. I had my biometrics today and I live in Chicago. I wonder how long does it take for citizenship interview after fingerprints?

@Nanz13 Based on other timelines for Chicago filers it looks like interviews are currently being scheduled 6-8 months after filing, though the USCIS processing times range from 11.5 to 15.5 months total including oath ceremony.

Thank you for your replying. Yeah, the case snapshot looks poorly filled.

Did receive a physical notice letter through the mail as well after filing?

I did. I believe I received the digital receipt notice on a Monday and got the paper version in the mail that Thursday? For biometrics, I got the paper notice about a week after the electronic one. So it’s really nice to have the electronic one first so you know about your appointment date farther in advance!

  17. 6 hours ago, lemongreentea said:

Now I am able to see the Docs tab which has the case snapshot and uploaded docs. But no receipt notice. Did it take a little bit longer to have the receipt notice posted?

Also, do you guys feel that the case snapshot is not as completed as one would fill out by hand? For example, Part 2 Item 13, mine is not checked at all. But if I fill out by hand, I would check all No. Another example is Part 9 item 1,2 and 3. It didn't fill out how many days outside the US on the case snapshot even though it did show that while we fill it online.

Is it the same case for you guys?

Since you filed on a weekend I would expect the receipt notice to be there by Monday or Tuesday.

Yes, I can't stand looking at the case snapshot because it makes it look so poorly filled out! But I filled out everything accurately and completely on the online version, so hoping that's enough.

  18. 40 minutes ago, lemongreentea said:

What do you mean by "letter was available in my docs"? I dont see a place for documents in my account on the USCIS website.

The Documents tab will appear once they post your receipt notice there. If you filed today I’d guess it’ll be up by tomorrow or Monday at the latest. They’ll also put your biometrics notice up there as well, although I got an email about my biometrics appointment being scheduled and went to check the date in my documents on my account but it was another two days before it was actually posted in my documents.

Did you file yours online? I just filed mine online. My country of birth and country of citizenship is the same country, but I noticed that in the summary page, it shows the name for my country of birth but only "-" for the country of citizenship. Did you run into the same situation?

I did have that problem too. I went back several times trying to fix it but ultimately whenever I got back to the review page it was blank again. I’m glad to know I’m not the only one!

Oh wow..... Does anyone have any other anecdote or suggestion?  I believe that Jameson78 's perspective is very interesting.

There’s a school of thought that filing the N-400 forces USCIS to adjudicate the I-751 that much quicker, since they have to make a decision on your green card before they can grant you citizenship (even if, in theory, they were to do both on the same day...the I-751 can’t just be left unresolved). What’s interesting to me is that I filed the N-400 June 3, and the current processing time at my local field office, according to USCIS, is approximately 9 months, so by February 2019. Yet when I check my case status on my account, they estimate my total wait time for the N-400 to be until August 2019. Are their processing time calculators just not in sync, or does my extra 6 months of waiting have to do with the fact that I’ve got a pending I-751? Who knows.

I will say that after all this time with no progress, it feels nice to get USCIS receipt notices and biometrics appointment dates in the mail. It at least gives me the false illusion that things are finally moving again!
