He doesn't have to be there to prove the marriage is not a sham because you're not married yet. The K1 visa is simply so you can come here to marry him.

I do agree with Darnell though, make sure the parents finances are in order since they'll be cosigning. http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-864p.pdf

Does South America require Proof of Domicille? That may be very hard as well seeing as he resides in prison at the moment.

Also make sure that what ever he was convicted of doesn't make it harder for him to bring you here.

You may not like people voicing their opinions about your relationship, but prepare for the worst because they WILL scrutinize your relationship, especially under your circumstances.

People will voice their opinions. We see plenty of people who are in loving relationships post a month after coming to the states and getting married saying that they were abused and/or cheated on and they never would have expected this. We've had people find out about court problems and things like that at their visa interview. The USC tells them maybe one or two things crime/court related, only for the foreign fiance to find out 10's of court orders at the interview. We see this -a lot- therefore, a lot of us will voice our opinions to hopefully help some avoid an avoidable situation.

**** This thread is closed as it is against the TOS and rumor mongering; we have no direct facts supporting the assertions in the Op regarding USCIS employees. Do not re-start this thread. If you feel you are being unfairly treated by USCIS, contact your elected representatives ******

This post is absolutely useless. Obviously we wont say we got preferential treatment and you have no proof of your claim. Again, if you think this is real, then report those USCIS employees. Its not fair that you drag us into this when we have no control over who adjudicates our petitions. We waited just like everyone else. We filed the same papers like you did.
There is NOTHING unfair about giving people who went through this an expedite:

Because while you were safely waiting in your house drinking soda, these people had nothing. JM&JM, have you been hiding under a rock that you are so unaware of Typhoon Haiyan?

    Potions? Petitions?
While I agree that there are some unfair practices in processing petitions (specifically its not a first come, first served basis process), most of the time, Philippine petitions get expedited because of natural disasters. Filipinos don't wish for their houses to be ruined or family members to suffer because of typhoons right?
I am totally agreeing with you that they should have a better way of handling petitions. I have also seen people who filed after me get approved before me, and I agree that it is infuriating. If you really believe there are some irregularities and your friend in USCIS is willing to go on the record about this, then report this. Make it an equal playing field for all of us.
I hope you dont take it out on Filipinos who are trying to get to USA via the legal route. We are all at the mercy of USCIS and all of us go through the same process, fill out the same requirements, and equally stress about being away from our loved ones.

I'm going to ignore the fact it does sound like all you want is a green card and focus on your marriage. How have you been surviving?
    Where have you been living?
If you and your husband have not been together for three years but are trying to be, then I don't understand what you've been doing all this time.
    Things to remember.
    - you are officially out of status and illegal in america.
    - a green card for you is based on a bonafied marriage that is real and works, yours isn't working so high chance for denial again.

    Hey congrats.
I'm good with military folks getting some fast break,
since they are risking their lives and serving the country.
I'm also happy for many expedited Filipinos,
but this whole imbalanced CSC vs. TSC processing timeline thing
and the extraordinary and exclusive expedited processing for Filipinos
when there are other countries with harsh conditions...just doesn't seem fair to all.
That said, keep away from those bullets, good luck in remainder of the processing,
and have a safe discharge back to US.

File now, it is easy to update your address with USCIS.
Or as others suggested use your parent's (brother, sister) address for now.

Use the address that will serve as your address domestically. Have that mail forwarded to you. Have you looked into asking for expedited case due to deployment?

file now, you can change the address later, or use a family / friends address in the US.
they tend to not to worry much about the change in address, but you just need a valid address so they can send you any letter if they need to. so just make sure what ever address you put that you will be able to get mail there
