  1. Last week I contacted my congressman. Be specific. Don't just ask for a status inquiry because they may just come back and say "it's pending" which isn't helpful.

I asked my congress liaison to inquire 1) what is the physical location of the file? (this is going to tell you if it's still at NBC, your local office or another office) and 2) has it been marked as a potential interview waiver.

My congress liaison responded within a couple hours that my case was with my local field office but could not give me an estimate of when it might be processed.

This Monday, got an RFE dated the exact same date as my congress inquiry. It seems my inquiry prompted USCIS to look at the file. Things are finally moving again and I do absolutely believe the congress inquiry made that happen.

Also have you filed a service request? You should be able to since your local office has moved past your NOA1 date.

At the moment I have a done a service request and they've told me to give them 14 days, I'll wait for that and if it doesn't work I am just going to do contact congressman. Thank you

Did you ask to talk to a tier two advisor or just the first person who answered the call?

The first person who answers the uscis line can only do the same look up that you can do but if you ask to be put through to a tier two representative then they can see more details on your case. It might be that the usps lost you waiver letter?

No I always speak to the first person and it they don't know anything lol. I have done a service request now so 12 more days I should get n answer. You'd thought a person who came in on K1 would've had it easier *Sigh*

  2. This didn't happen to me but most of the people who adjusted from a fiancé visa in the same month as me were given interview waivers, this sounds good but really it isn't as some of them waited up to 15 months for their green card while I was "unlucky" and got an interview which meant I had my green card after 3 months.

Judging from your timeline I would say you are in the interview waiver set and this can take up to 12 month before they will let you do an inquiry and the congressperson having any effect. Once you hit the 12 month mark other people have found contacting the ombudsman to help more than their congressperson

Yeah I've heard about the interview waiver and the long wait but I have no notifications at all and every time I call up USCIS they just say my local field office is working on it. Is there way for me to find out where my case is? Thank you though.

It was 7 months being stuck in the same thing as you. In fact I was just starting to work on contacting a congressperson, when we finally discovered where the case was. It had been sent to a field office in a state we didn't even live in and we were waivered. Since it's been 9 months, I'd absolutely get on your congressperson and track things down. They'll help you out.

    Hey Yuna,

How did you find that out? Did you call USCIS or? Because whenever I give them a call they haven't got anymore info but your local office is working on it, which now shows they've moved on to cases from 20th of Nov. Thnx

  3. So it has been nearly 9 months and my status is still stuck on "Fingerprint fee received", Seattle field office stated on April 30th that they're working on November 20th case. So where did my paperwork go? They received my case on October 9th 2015.

I just don't know what to do anymore *Sigh* is anyone else going through this or has been through it? It's just really frustrating.

  4. Me too. My field office is a bit backed up compared to others. I talked with my congressman's liaison last week though. She said USCIS said my file is in my local field office with an officer but couldn't provide any more detail than that.

I regularly check this page https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do last update for Seattle was 31st of March and they were working on 29th of Sept *Sigh*

  5. Did you receive a Notice of Potential Interview Waiver letter? If so, your case is still at the National Benefits Center. We got the waiver letter in September, and that's where ours has been since June of 2015. <_< They are certainly taking their sweet time! We had to send in applications to renew my husband's employment authorization and advance parole.

No nothing at all :( and my case is still stuck on "fingerprint fee received....." *Sigh*. Since June wow and here I am crying about October lol.

Did you have to pay for the renewal of AP and Employment Auth.?

  6. Initial processing for family-based adjustment of status cases is done at the NBC (Lee's Summit, MO office).

If adjusting from any other visa type than a K, it's then handed-off to your local USCIS field office for an interview and final adjudication.

For K adjustees, you have around a 50-50 chance of that same hand-off and interview, or your case remaining at the NBC who adjudicate it without an interview.

    Right....

I am a k1 adjuster so is there a way for me to know whether they've handed my case to local office or not? my status is still stuck on "Fingerprint received etc etc" since Oct and I don't know which timeline to follow....

    Thank you btw :)

  7. Ok this may be a dumb question but I just need to clarify it,

Does the AOS timeframe depend on your local field office?

My case status states that the National Benefit Center (Lee Summit Missouri) is working on my case but when I call up the USCIS customer service they always ask for where I live and then say your local office is working on etc etc at this moment in time.

  8. Was out to dinner with Danielle when her phone got an update alert, "New Card Is Being Produced"!!!!

Extremely excited. Didn't have an interview or ANY update since Biometrics in late September. Before our status was "Fingerprint Fee was Received"

So good to read this!! I am a Oct filer but my status has been stuck on "Fingerprint Fee was Received", hopefully next month is my month lol! Congratz btw :)

  9. Hey,

No not at all, well my Interview was last year and it was 1:30pm as well. Oh and by the way last year it was more of a first comes first serve so try to get there early, I was number 4 in line and I got to the embassy around 1pm.

    Good luck

  10. http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/aosstats.php?history=90

Check out the processing time for your local office.

Mine USCIS office is Detroit..so 188 days (avg. from Biometrics to interview) :clock:

I will probably give them a call (which I assume won't help too much) by mid March if I still haven't heard anything by then.

Oh God! Mine is Seattle so I've got a long wait as well 200 something days :( ..

Are you going to call USCIS or your local office in Detroit?

Thanks for the link by the way kind of eased my mind although I am pretty sure they'll make me redo my medical now.

  11. Hi everyone,

    I hope you're all well.

Just a quick question, am I the only one in the Oct thread who has filed my paperwork early Oct but there is still no sign of green card, interview or even a status update. My status is still stuck on "Fingerprint Fee Was Received". I did receive my EAD and AP but I am worried as my medical is about to expire in April. :(

    Shall I call them up?

    Thank you

congrats to all who have their GC approved!!!

I am stilling waiting for AOS interview date

Ahh me 2!! My status hasnt even updated it.. :(
