Just a quick Q's folks. I have a friend Somalia born but she's British Citizen lived in the UK majority of her life and came to the US visa via marriage legally and holds a green card.. is she affected since there is a ban on Somalia? or is it just Somalians citizenship holders.
Thnx in advance

Give them a call and speak to a Tier 2 officer! Most likely it's the RFE
Best of luck.

Hey guys,
Just wanted to update you guys that we've had our interview this morning, she didnt approve us on the spot but said that she was send us decision letter via mail. The interview went well the case office was really nice but I am still worried. Is this a normal procedure?

Hi everyone,
So I have my interview soon and I was here sorting out paperwork and that. I've been told to bring some photos of me and my husband together on holiday/vacation , however we have one big family photo album with all my family and his family included, Shall I bring in that album or shall I get a new album and just get the relevant photos with me and my husband only?
It may be a silly Q I know but better safe than not.
Thnx in advance

Hi everyone,
I have everything ready for the AOS interview except my husband's employer letter. Is it absolutely necessary to have that? I mean we have the 3 years tax return including this years one plus his pay stubs and W2. We have also previously submitted this prior the interview....
-
Finally received my interview letter...
Anyone who has had interview could you please tell me your experience plus what your documents you brought...
-
You will receive the conditional 2 year card. You have only been married a year.
Your permanent residence status is conditional if it is based on a marriage that was less than 2 years old on the day you were given permanent residence.
BTW, your timeline is messed up. You have entered your interview date as a transfer, and have your approval/denial date as Aug. 23rd. That is not possible.
~ Moved from AOS from Work, Student & Tourist Visas Progress forum to AOS from Family Based Visas - OP is adjusting from K visa ~
It was defiantly a mess lol I just fixed it, thnx for the heads up

Hi everyone,
So I finally received my interview which will be in September,
I got married to my husband 24th of August 2015, so by the time we have our interview we have been married for more than a year. Will I be receiving the conditional green card or the ten yer one?

Hey guys,
So yeah my question is what takes a case so long for it to be transferred to local office, I mean what does lee summit service centre do? Do they do the background check or.. just curious really.
My case only got transferred recently after waiting 10 months!
-
I was on fingerprint fee received for 10 months.. it has only changed to "ready to be scheduled for an interview".. so you yeah as you can see everyone's case is different.
-
Oooh that makes sense.. thank you Punchy
-
My case finally changed to " Case ready for interview" .. how long did it take you guys to receive your interview letter after your case got updated?
-
Ok so my case has been stuck on "Fingerprint received ..." , 3 weeks ago I did a service request and spoke to a tier 2 customer service as my case has passed it's handling time (According to seattle local office), the tier 2 lady told me my case is still at Lee summit service centre and she didn't know why it took so long but to call back within 4 weeks for more update.
As I was waiting for the 4 weeks to finish today my case changed to "Case ready for interview". So now I'm confused, if my case is ready for interview shouldn't my local office be handling my case? Also looking at seattle handling time they've way passed Oct filers, they're working on November..
Am I going crazy here or?

Hi everyone,
So I've got an international upcoming trip in October, my passport has the maiden name so the ticket has to be in my maiden name.. will this cause me a problem coming back to the US with my AP. My AP says my married name... my AP is also due to expire in Dec 2016, my trip is in Oct 2016.

Hi everyone so I've lived in the US officially for a year now and recently just had a baby. A friend of mine advised me to go to WIC and apply for medicaid. We do qualify for it as we only live on my husbands income and I am not working at the moment but my concern is my husband signed for to take care of me and signed for the form I-864 affidavit of support. Is this going to affect us? or can I apply for the medicaid?
Ps. I am still waiting for my greencard
Thank you

for what it's worth, our case is at the NBC, we got a waiver letter back in September, and we've been waiting 13 months now...
Yeah thats what I was thinking, maybe mine is potential interview waiver as well.. it's just so frustrating I haven't received anything and it's been 10 months now!
-
Hi guys,
So I spoke to a tier 2 officer today and she told me that my case is at the national benefit centre, does this mean a potential interview waiver?
I haven't received any letter in regards to that, but by reading some topics here on VJ most of the people with interview waiver their case is being processed at the national benefit centre and they're waiting 13+ month....
-
I did mine Oct 2015 and still waiting... so yeah it is normal
-
Wow I am in exactly the same position as you..
I did my application early Oct (2015, adjusting from K1) and my status is still stuck on fingerprint fee received as well!! I am still waiting for my case inquire, it's been 20 days now...
At this point I am going to contact my congress man if they don't respond to me within 30 days.
May I ask where is your local office?
-
I have almost 30 days (tomorrow) of a request about my I485 rfe... So, what can I tell you.
Have you received any answer yet? call USCIS!
I personally think it never hurts to try. I contacted both my senators during our K1 process. Ironically while on my trip to the UK to visit my then fiancé now hubby I sat on the plane ride to Atlanta next to one of my senators and he gave me all his contact info if I ever needed any help.
Oh talk about luck!! lol
Yeah I'll contact them on Monday, you're right it won't hurt!
-
Hi,
Is it a good idea to contact local congress man while waiting for a service request? they said it'll take up to 30 days, the request was sent on the 15th of June. Or shall I wait for the respond and then contact congress man?
Thanks
Case Status not updated since fingerprint fee received
