Tattersail got a reaction from mimikado in I-751 July 2017 Filers, Part II
Got approved yesterday!!
WAC17291xxx (filed July 19th, I believe).
Had not filed for n400, the last status update before the approval was the vague "case received at local office" in February.
Biometrics had been waved previously and interview was not requested either.
So happy that it's finally official wishing everyone who is still waiting the very best and a speedy approval!

How many July 2017 ( No N-400 filed) filers do we have pending approval ? It seems like the majority of the applicants have been approved . Can we have a quick roll call ?

I think this is much better explanation: there are criteria to meet before claiming:
https://finance.zacks.com/can-noncitizen-wife-receive-social-security-benefits-after-die-5427.html
But there's another way that any noncitizen spouse can qualify for Social Security. If the foreign spouse becomes a U.S. resident for at least five years while married, then it doesn't matter what country the spouse is a citizen of or where the couple resides in the future.

This is kind of my thought too. The only other thing that makes me consider naturalization is if my husband and I want to move to Canada at some point. I would hate for all this money and waiting to be wasted. It also would be nice to be done with USCIS, but for now I'll just wait and finish ROC before making decisions

I know most people dream of being US citizens, but I really see the only benefit is that I no longer have to deal with immigration.

We're not applying either. I'm a German citizen and don't want to lose my German citizenship so I need to file for retention of German citizenship before I apply for us citizenship.

Personal note: Those of us who are finished with this infernal immigration process sincerely hope and pray for progress in your case.

Visa got approved on Tuesday and issued Wednesday!
Just want to give a word of support to any of you who are still waiting for yourinterviews and approvals - you WILL make it!!!! Just hang in there and keep going, it's so stressful,I know!
I also have a question for the ones already in the u.s.- how long does it take to go through immigration?
I have a long long trip ahead of me and I'm thinking of doing a stopover at my airport of entry, so I can recover and not stress about the time it may take to go through immigration. I will probably coming through lax, so I'm expecting it to be very busy and time consuming.
And I have a statement too: howridiculously high is the aos fee?! Jeesh...
