  1. Be careful about the police certificates in Morocco. I emailed the consulate and they stated the certificate is only valid if it's issued within 6 months of the interview date. while I'm hoping the interview Happens before 6 months, just be mindful that he may need to get a newer version.

moncherie! I just realized I gave you BAD information. I looked at the consulate email once more... it's THREE months before, not six. Email is below in bold:

Thank you for your inquiry. Federal regulations require that an applicant for a fiancé visa provide a recent police certificate for every country in which he or she has lived or worked for six months or more after the age of 16. In many cases, the local embassy or consulate is able to provide this certificate. (Recent means the certificate was issued within 3 months of the interview date.)

Moroccan citizens 16 years or older must provide a police certificate, and in addition a court certificate.

All documents must be in English, or accompanied by a translation into English by a certified translator.

  2. Everyone kept telling me about the show because they knew we were applying. I hadn't watched it or heard of it. I didn't watch the first season. I told my fiance about the show and if he might be interested in doing something like that. At first he was... then my fiance watched the first season and started watching the second season and he and my sister were talking about it to me... so finally I buckled down and started watching it.

I told him that they will NOT portray our love.. they will exploit our "imperfections". And that is what they will focus on.

    Couldn't agree with you more!

Still haven't gotten a message. I knew we were too boring to be on that show :)

  3. I'm thankful that me nor my fiance doesn't really want the traditional big wedding. Vegas was easy access, inexpensive, and readily available as soon as he gets here.. which is GREAT.

I won't be buying my dress until his visa is APPROVED. But my daughter is TOTALLY stoked to be a flower girl... So she picked out her own dress and everything. She wants gloves and a flower basket ("not the flowers you hold Mommy.. the basket"). LOL. She's planning it more than I am. LOLOL But I'm grateful for that. :luv::luv:

I wish I could not have the traditional wedding, but I'm a sucker for it. I've always been that girl who's dreamed of her day (cliché... I know), but it will be a little different than I imagined since we're mixed-faith... no biggie, though. I'm just hoping everything works out and everything I want for that day is available.

Now if it were up to him, I'm pretty sure he would be OK with just a courthouse wedding :)

Super cute about your daughter. That's awesome that she's a part of the wedding and that she's been over to Egypt (if I remember correctly)!

  4. Hahaha it has been quiet :) I'll give you an update because I have 30 min left at work.

I ordered my wedding dress yeah!!!! (I love BHLDN so hopefully its nice, if not I have months to figure it out.)

I did write both senators in Fl along with my local representative about the processing difference between TSC and CSC, it probably won't make a difference since I'm at the beginning of our journey, but the squeaky wheel gets the grease. What I did discover was that each of their websites had an option to ask for help in the visa process. Legally in Fl their office has 30 days to respond to your inquiry. So even if I get a brush off, it feels like I did something. Also, was reading old forums and a previous USCIS officer had a Q & A, apparently if the USCIS gets a request from your state's senator, they have up to 48 hours to respond to the inquiry and move your case to a special "dont' F this up file hahahaha So for all of the frustrated people it's worth a 10 minute note to see if anything happens. Happy Thursday!

Wow! I haven't even thought of planning yet (I know who's going to be in the wedding and where - if it's actually available). I'm actually thinking of maybe starting to plan once he gets the visa. He won't be arriving for a couple of months after he receives the visa, so I figure instead of 90 days to plan we could have at least 5-6. I feel like I really can't start planning because I have no clue when (or if) the visa will be approved. I'm sure it'll all work out though :)

Congrats on getting your dress :)

  5. Hi,

I send my in 11/26, got an electronic NOA1 on 12/4 and a hard copy of NOA1 on 12/8. So I am waiting for NOA2

From what I've see of many ppl case, the timeline from NOA1 to NOA 2 is about 3 months. How did you get your NOA2 in only 4 days?? That's amazingly fast, what kind of magic dust did u sprinkle on your 129f form LOL.

At least you're one of the lucky ones who were routed to CSC! I'm not trying to sound jealous (I'm actually happy someone is getting quick-ish service), but be happy you aren't stuck for 5-6 months waiting for your NOA2 at TSC :)

  6. My fiance watched the first season and has been watching season two from the beginning... I only watched this season...

And yes they TOTALLLLLLLY edit for maxium drama... I wouldn't want anyone saying.. "They're not gonna make it" .. or "They should NOT get married" about my relationship. And on season 2 I only think ONE couple should marry.... LOLOLOL... Which isn't fair or cool either cause I really don't know anything about their relationships but what they WANT us to see...

jdwrentm... wait until you watch season 2! SMH

I should probably take this to a personal message, but I'm curious - what couple? I think maybe 3 out of the 6.

  7. Did anyone else get an email/ text message alert when the USCIS website updated?

For the last 2 months it was showing an error screen when I typed in my receipt number, but this morning I got a text/email about a case update...but I have already received this update back in July....

Did this happen to anyone else?

I called the customer service hotline but all they could do was read me their stupid script that didn't help at all.

Any advice would be appreciated! I'm a bit worried.

    Thanks!

Yes, many people received the email and text(s) today. Looks like USCIS updated their tracking website today and sent a bunch of messages out in error.

  8. Hey so funny story that just happened. I'm sitting at work with my cell phone in front of me when it starts lighting up like a Christmas Tree.

5 Text messages in like a few seconds.

So, either a death in the family or something else urgent. I look and its the USCIS! Telling me!!!.....they received my I-129F :cry:....the same notification I got over a month ago.

Thanks for staying on top of things USCIS!! Guess they fixed the website and thats why Im seeing the text's now.

False hope is worse than no hope at all.

The same thing happened to me in the middle of a meeting! 5 text messages and an email, and I was sure that I was getting my NOA2! Nope... the site just tells me that they received my application in November...

I guess at least the website is finally fixed? Better than what it was before...

  9. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! cristindc I swear I tell my fiance the SAME EXACT THING... If THEY can (and you know who the heck I'm talking about) I don't even know WHY they do screenings.... LOLOLOLOLOLLLLLLL They are OFF THE CHAIN!!! My fiance, sister, and I all scrutinize them all every Monday. LOLOLOL It's sooooooooooo hard not to. Did you guys see how the "Dad" treated Amy?! I was like.. OMG.

THANKS!!!!! I think this is when the REAL waiting for us begins.

yeah... Danny's dad was awful to her. I don't want to get into anything controversial, but I was cringing when he was talking about how interracial relationships are not accepted in the US. I'm glad his mom was super welcoming, though.

Ok I now want to go and watch the posted episodes on my lunch break. I watched the first season but not the second. :)

It's addicting! I never watched the first season, except for maybe the last episode. you'll know exactly which couple we have been referencing :)

  10. Some of them (who will remain unnamed) really shock me how they got approved at the Embassy, but I guess that gives me hope. I always tell my fiancé, "if this person from 90 day fiancé was approved, I don't know how we can't!" :)

-----> i watched the last episode last night and i was really shocked , same thing crossed my mind and have been told ;) my fiance tells me how can not we be approved if the unamed couple from the TLC show made it lol , gives up hope

Don't spoil it! Haven't watched the episode yet :)

  11. Hey guys hope everyone has had a good stressfree day.Random Question: Do you guys watch the show on TLC 90 day fiance? What do yall think about it?

ha! I love it. I wish they did more lead up in the beginning regarding the process. Showing the couples when they come to the US really doesn't illustrate the process of everything. I understand that it would be pretty boring if all the couples had TSC and waited for 5/6months for their NOA2, but at least the show could show the front end stuff we deal with. A lot of my friends want me to apply, but we have such little drama that we'd bore the viewers.

Like Romet said - I try not to judge. Some of them (who will remain unnamed) really shock me how they got approved at the Embassy, but I guess that gives me hope. I always tell my fiancé, "if this person from 90 day fiancé was approved, I don't know how we can't!" :)

  12. Thanks everyone! I am in LAX now waiting for my connecting flight. Was a breeze coming in- because I have an ESTA and have entered on this passport before I was allowed to use the passport scanning machines that USC's use and then the interview guy just wanted to see my return ticket home. Took less than five mins! No other questions or anything unusual! (My POE was LAX)

Glad to hear you got through ok! Have been waiting to see you post all day :)

  13. Hi guys! Just need to vent a little. (PS. super happy for the CSC people so this is by no means raining on their parade) ughhhhhhh why why Texas? They finally updated to May 6 but really? We are so frustrated, my SO doesn't believe me about how long it'll take he's convinced it'll be faster, praying for the luck of the Irish lol we are so ready. I'd be easier if either of us had enough time off of work to visit each other but he can't until April and my 7 year old doesn't have a passport so it's not easy for me to hop on a plane. Tempted to start a @USCIS twitter campaign hahahahahaha

But, I feel better complaining to the only people that understand :)(L) (L) (L) (L)

Don't worry, we are here for you and each other :) so the processing time is april as of october 31st (which would logically make it May if the data was as of November 30), but I know many of the June and July filers are getting their Noa2s. That still means 5 months for us, so unfortunately March or April :( hopefully the holidays will distract us all!

  14. I hear Ecuador is a high fraud country, so I'm wondering what are possible red flags in countries like this? Now I'm starting to get worried reading all these posts. Hopefully i covered our ground our packet was 89 pages long and it took me forever to assemble.

I'm sorry I didn't mean to worry you! I know the red flags for arabic countries, but am not sure about Ecuador. Ours are mostly age differences, how you met, speed in which you became engaged, things like that. Romet probably has insight into more.

You may want to check out that country's portal and embassy reviews to check about Ecuador specifically. Try not to worry! 89 pages definitely covered a lot of ground :)

  15. I didn't do that I just did pictures and tickets etc. But I wonder if I should have done this now because Morocco is also known as a "red flag" country and they want to know EVERYTHING and they want everything. Even in interview they will ask you questions to make sure if matches up and relevant to our story and petition... I was hoping he would be here by feb-march but now Im not so sure :(

Moncherie, try not to worry. I feel the same way, and wish I would've sent more than what I did, but I think we will both be just fine. I'm not sure if you guys have many or any red flags, but either way it'll be ok :) just make sure he has A TON of evidence at the interview - Skype, chat logs, etc
  16. I sent chat logs, FB posts, cards, and phone logs. Because we used to mostly use viber ... and they do NOT give out their telephone logs, we had to print screen some... We use Kakao now because it logs everything.

I also sent emails and letters from family, friends, and co-workers. Anyone that has to suffer through my constant "gushing" for over a year I asked to write a letter. LOL.

Again.... because we have red flags in a high fraud country, we really wanted to make sure we front loaded and our timeline was consistent and detailed. Even though I've been to Egypt 3 times in the past year, (even one time taking my children), we were told Egypt is STILL very very very skeptical and will scrutinize EVERYTHING.

I have to forward my fiance some original documents for his packet 3 and we'll make sure he has updated "evidence" for everything too.

I swear.. I NEVER THOUGHT in my life that I would have to "prove" my love for someone through documentation (especially PERSONAL ones). LOL. It's a bit harder than I ever imagined! lololol

Yeah, I guess I didn't think about front loading with chats or phone logs because we really don't have red flags (maybe the quickness of the application, but we did it when we did because we knew it would take so long being at TSC). At least I showed tons of pictures including ones with his family and friends. Here's hoping for the best for all of us :)

  17. cristindc,

Can you set up electronic notifications online? When I first signed up for the "check status" I had to say "yes" to certain "alerts". Is that something that could help? Can you just set up those alerts? I sent in the G-1145, but was just wondering for you.

RECEIPT NUMBER LAST UPDATED (MM/DD/YYYY) FORM E-MAIL ALERT MOBILE ALERT WACXXXXXXXXXX 12/03/2014 I-129F Y Y

    Hi Romet,

Yep, I checked those once I got our NOA1 and made a USCIS account. I did not receive a notification when his ARN changed (I don't know why), but at least the hotline told me that. The hotline and the site are down for me today. Oh well!

  18. Got this idea from the lovely cristindc on the November Filers thread and thought this would be something nice and positive to discuss as Christmas draws ever closer :P My question to you all is, how did you guys meet? Cmon folks share your love stories! :D

To get the ball rolling: My second summer working at a summer camp in Michigan. A girl who I had worked with the previous year told me she was bringing her cousin to work at camp this season (Dan). We went kayaking together during staff week, I fell out and couldn't get back in so had to swim back to shore (in a life jacket I wasn't allowed to remove) with him kayaking next to me, dying of laughter. The rest, as they say, is history.... ;)

    Your turn! GO!

Aw, Pheebs... I just saw this thread :)

Not sure if I've really written much about it, but long story short: I met my fiancé on a cruise I took with a co-worker in April. We met the second day after I ate dinner and had a little too much to drink. I vaguely remember meeting him in a hallway near the shop he worked in and harassing him about his name (his name is Soufiane and I kept telling him it was girly-sounding like Sophia  ).

Anyway, cut to the next morning, where he called my cabin room to make sure I was awake and feeling ok. For the next 10 days, we visited each other every chance he had, toured the ports when he was off, and the rest is history!

  19. I used our electronic notification date which I assume is the same as the issued date. I also agree this makes more sense- mail services aren't always reliable

It might be, but maybe double check? Silly me didn't include the G-1145 form so I'll never know what my electronic notification would've been

Speaking of notice date, I can't believe it's already been a month since my NOA-1 was issued! It flew by, so I'm hoping the remaining months will too :)
