  1. I wondered about this as well, because when I actually looked at the paper copy of the NOA1, there was an issued date, which I think is more accurate than "what day did the mailman get it to me?".

Ours was issued on November 21, we got a text/email November 24, but it wasn't stamped until November 25. (I don't know what day it was actually delivered since my fiance was out of state that week). So I have no idea what to put on the VJ timeline.

I don't know why I didn't think about that, using the date it was issued rather than when I received the hard copy. I would think it would make more sense to use the issue date, and that's what I'll change mine to.

Just looked on the timeline page, and there's a link to which date you should use - http://www.visajourney.com/images/noa-date.jpg

  2. I haven't read much on VJ that is of use to this either but the general advice when people notice errors after filing (not that this is an error of course) is to wait and see if an RFE comes along and then respond, as it will probably be hard for them to match up anything new you send to your original application if it isn't already being looked at.

Personally I would sit tight and wait and see if they did send an RFE of this nature, and deal with it should this situation arise. If not, as you said, just prepare loads of additional info to take to the interview and try not to worry too much in the meantime.

You are of course extremely emotionally invested in this process (as are we all!) and want it to go smoothly but worrying yourself silly won't help!

Others may have more useful/specific answers but that's just my two cents. Really am rooting for you, you've always been so kind to me! Good luck! :)

Thanks, Pheebs. Naturally I'm a worrier, so this process isn't the best. I need to learn that it's out of my control (at the moment) and everything will work out. I'm the planner/organizer/Type A person in our relationship, so thankfully I have everything in order to send to him for evidence at the Embassy interview :)

    hello

we are on the same boat , sometimes i do think that i have not included suficient evidences ( i have put as much as i had ) i think all these toughts are part of the waiting stress , as all what we can do now is wait , but as long as you have met in person i think you shoud be fine , i have read about several intervew experiences in morocco that really went smooth , so dont worry about it :) i hope everything goes positively faster .

Yeah, I think I get worried because of some of the experiences I've read at the embassy. It looks like the most recent ones have been smooth, so we'll see. I think the way we met reduces the concern that there's fraud, but who knows :) Like I said above, I'm making sure my SO is fully loaded with evidence and is prepared for the questions that might come his way. Good luck in your journey!

  3. So, I have a question... I can't really seem to find an answer on VJ. I've been reading some other topics regarding the evidence others sent with their package to prove they were in a bonafide relationship, and people from high fraud countries (like Morocco) front loaded their package with Skype/FB/etc. logs as well as their pictures, boarding passes, etc.

I'm starting to spin myself up since I feel like maybe I didn't provide enough information for the officers at the Embassy. I know that USCIS cares that there's proof we've met, but I'm thinking maybe I should've put in our Skype/FB/etc. logs just for the people at the Embassy (I included trip receipts, 10-15 pictures, and boarding passes). My plan was to compile a lot of our conversations and send to my SO for his interview and to show then, but I'm kind of worried now.

So my question is - can I send more evidence to the TSC and reference my case number even though I haven't gotten an RFE (and don't expect one). Not sure if it would look super weird if I just sent a bunch of call logs randomly, or if they would even accept the files.

    thanks!!

  4. I've updated my timeline with the date when the hard copy arrived. I think it's better, cause anyway it takes time to get to the NVC.

yes, I would say that the timeline should be filled with the date that you received the hard copy noa2. there are people (like me, accidentally) who didn't fill out the G-1145 form and didn't receive an electronic notification. At least we know everyone's supposed to get a notification in the mail :)

  5. i don't think they were transferred.... probably just filled out their timeline incorrectly. this seems to be a common problem on VJ - people put in the texas service center when they really mean they just sent their petition to the texas lockbox, then were ROUTED to CSC.

Unfortunately, you're right. Im looking at Igor's list and a majority of the petitioner's are from the West Coast... meaning their service center would be CSC, not TSC.

  6. California for us!! The VJ community is amazing, i don't know where i would be in this process without it. My fiancé thinks its hilarious that i check it every second, maybe he's right i just need to relax and be patient our time will come. but, I'm just sooooooo happy, i want him here asap!

We met in Ecuador during my Peace Corps service in 2011 and the rest just happened!! (L)

ha, I tell mine that I am obsessed with VJ. I'm just glad I have a community full of people who completely understand and don't question the sometimes craziness of this whole journey :)

My co-worker was convinced someone had to meet their SO through the peace corps. I'll let her know :)

  7. Best friend of the last 13 years got deported for some naughty behavior. Went to Mexico to visit him. Introduced me to his friends from elementary school while on vacation in Ixtapa. Rest is history. This whole thing taught me God works in mysterious ways. Lose my best friend gain my new best friend.

ha, I love it! Everyone told me I would meet some mysterious European man when I went on my cruise, and it looks like they weren't too far off :)

Sooo all this waiting has me nervous... in the wait for approval my mind is going crazy...was there enough evidence (though I included a lot) ? If there wasn't then I would have had and RFE by now correct?....trying to be patient but every now and then the wait makes me crazy...guess we all have these moments.

As others have said, don't worry at all! Seeing as you're from VA like me, we are automatically routed to TSC which means we will (unfortunately) have a long time to wait. Keep patient until March/April 2015.

  8. My second summer working at a summer camp in Michigan. A girl who I had worked with the previous year told me she was bringing her cousin to work at camp this season (Dan). We went kayaking, I fell out and couldn't get back in so had to swim back to shore (in a life jacket I wasn't allowed to remove) with him kayaking next to me, dying of laughter. The rest, as they say, is history ;)

Aw, great story! I love it.

  9. Thank youuu I hope so as well. I noticed we were in morocco around the SAME TIME in sept!! :) Are you planning on visiting again?? I'm thinking about going back in end of Jan 2015 but with the whole ebola news Im a little scared to get on a plane -_-

ha! That's too funny. I was thinking of heading back after Christmas and stay through NYE, but flight prices were insane and my family was worried about the whole ebola/plane issue, too. A bunch of my family members and I are heading on a Med cruise again in April so I was hoping he could join so he could meet them, but I doubt he will be approved for a Schengen visa through Spain.

Hopefully you can go back in January!

  10. I hope this didnt affect my petition but when I called USCIS for information about my petition being received or not. They asked me for my fiance birth date month.day/year and I said 1999 but then I quickly said 1990 ... :/ seriously hoping they don't take that into consideration yikes!!! Im not a morning person!! :sleepy::sleepy::crying::cry::oops:

I doubt it will have any affect on your approval. Don't worry :)

  11. Have you guys checked out this timeline on VJ? It shows approvals for each month, seems like they are processing more now at TSC, shorter times between I-129f sent and NOA2 within the past couple of months. The processing times on USCIS website haven't been updated in almost a month

    http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/monthly_filers.php?form=1&visa=1&scenter=3&option=1&sortby=2

Most of the shorter processing times are expedited cases for couples where the beneficiary is from the Philippines (their cases are expedited due to hurricane damage I believe). If you look at the rest who are not from the Philippines, they're still mostly from the summer time.

  12. I guess they are super inundated with calls from all the people desperate to get the for Christmas (and who can blame them!). I may just try and calm down for a couple of weeks and then try again :P

Yeah, that might be your best bet. I'm a federal employee, and I can tell you that it will be a ghost house in my office between about 15 December - 2 January. Pretty sure that'll be the case for most government agencies. Work will still be performed by the few employees who are in work during the holidays, but we will definitely see an impact with a majority of employees being on leave.

  13. Does anybody else have issues checking their visa status?

Ours ever since we registered won't show us any information apart from the last date

We thought it might just have been a glitch but it's been a month now :( :\

I still receive an error when I log into my USCIS account and when I try to enter the receipt number. I just called the hotline ( 1 (800) 375-5283) and finally received some information regarding the ARN. You might want to try? It's automated so you don't have to wait in line or talk to a customer service rep. Just need your receipt number.

My status on USCIS is still the same "case was received". They should have changed my ARN until now, right? :( Friday will be 2weeks since we got the hard copy of our NOA1. I'll wait until next monday and then call, just to see what they are going to tell me.

I'm glad you brought this up yesterday! I read on another forum that you can call the hotline to receive an update. It actually told me that the ARN was changed for us on November 7th, so maybe you should call as well?
