danb1978 got a reaction from vmm in DQ'd awaiting Interview - F1 Unmarried Son Over 21 of US Citizen
Hi,
I was DQ'd August 2020 and now awaiting Interview in London for - F1 Unmarried Son Over 21 of US Citizen.
I was wondering if there were any people in a similar situation in my visa category on here who might have received their interview letter?
I'm hoping for good news soon but it's hard to work out how long the wait will be

Well his post said “got email this morning” and the date on the post says 9/24. I believe that’s your answer. Good luck to you.

Hi Everyone!
Great news, i had my interview today and I was told that my visa will be approved!
The process was unbelievably straight forward. I arrived at the Embassy and after firstly joining the wrong queue (my bad), I went straight in. Did the airport security stuff etc then went to the main building.
My ticket was called as soon as i arrived to the windows. I spoke to the first officer and they checked my documents. The only documents he needed were Passport, Photographs, IV Letter, Birth Certificate and Police Record. My dad had already uploaded a new AOS and Tax Return to the CEAC website, i brought copies of everything else with me but they didnt ask for them. Then i sat back down and waited for about another 10 minutes for the second part of the interview. The lady I spoke to at the 2nd window asked me to swear an oath to tell the truth etc then only asked me two questions, how long my petitioner had been in the USA and how long its been since i saw them last. And that was it, all done! The lady told me that my passport would be back with me in a few weeks via courier and then im good to go!
Over seven years waiting has finally delivered!
I hope you get some good news soon Kris!
Regards
Dan

Yes they asked about my covid vaccine status. I printed off my record from the NHS website which shows the bar codes for each jab.
I’ll let you know how the interview goes in a couple of weeks! 🙂

Hey Kris,
Medical completed today! One step closer!
It was straightforward. The gave me a chest x-ray, blood test, no urine test as i am in my 40s, they checked my vaccine records and i had to have the flu jab to bring me up to date, checked eyes, reflexes and felt my stomach, asked about my medical history and that was it.
Embassy interview in a couple of weeks! I'll update again once that it done!
A note about documents, after asking on another thread i have uploaded a new passport photo and a new police record (although i was told that the police record is valid for 24 months rather than 12 months so i might not have needed to do that) to the CEAC website and my father has uploaded a new AOS and tax return. i'll be bringing these also to the interview but i'll let you know if they ask for them or not.

Nah. You’re done with NVC. The consulate CO can see/access everything you upload. I think they just want it all digital and can’t be arsed to scan and upload themselves if you bring it to the interview. Both NVC and consulate are part of the Department of State so all on the same system for viewing documents.

danb1978 got a reaction from Chancy in New Documents Needed For Interview After Being Dq'd for Over a Year?
Ah brilliant. I could handle a week! I was worried it was going to delay things by a lot longer if it had to go back to NVC and work its way through their system. When i was applying, i was missing something and it added another 2-3 months onto the process that's why i was worrying.
I've found the place on CEAC that @Chancy mentioned so i may as well just ask my sponsor to upload the new Tax Return and possibly an updated AOS to there so that its in place for the interview and i will upload new passport photos, i had already applied for a new police record thinking that it expired after a year, i didnt realise it was two years but i guess it wont harm anything uploading that also.
Thanks for your replies guys, much appreciated! It's all such a minefield but hopefully i'm getting there now 🙂

You may add the documents under the "Additional AOS Supporting Documentation" and/or "Optional Documents" sections in CEAC. But I'm not sure if the COs in London prefer that approach over getting the paper documents at the visa interview.
Requesting input from @Wuozopo

I don’t know anything about the actual uploading process or what the screens look like. I was K1 and was in and out of NVC in two days.
Lately the COs have given out 221g slips to IR1/CR1s who need to provide more documents. Even if they bring a copy of the document, they are told to go home and upload.
I’d say give it three days average for them to get back to your case and finish the processing. You shouldn’t be delayed more than a week. They have been quite fast lately.

Definitely a new PCC and I-865 (AOS), along with 2020 tax transcript. You may also need to update the DS-260 and new passport size photos.
You should contact the embassy about the DS-260 and the new passport photos, and to ask them if you should upload or just bring to the interview.

...pretty jealous of you right now! The staff at my practice were complete pigs. Completely put me through the ringer, used every excuse, pathetic. Wish my experience had been like yours.

danb1978 got a reaction from Kris_0121 in DQ'd awaiting Interview - F1 Unmarried Son Over 21 of US Citizen
Thanks for the info Kris. From what i can make out, once you file with the NVC, the interviews are scheduled based on the DQ date rather than PD date (although the PD date still needs to be Current) . I filed in April 2020 and it took until Sept 2020 (i originally said Aug 2020 on this thread but i realised the other day it was actually September 2020) to get DQ'd as there was an initial mistake with the information i uploaded. So i guess that put me back in the queue a little bit. The way i tried to place it in my head was that the embassies closed in March/April 2020 so whoever was scheduled for interview before me (ie anyone in our category who was DQ'd before Sept 2020) will be ahead of me in the queue. So im guessing that there is 5-6 months worth of backlog ahead of me (Mar/April 2020 - Sept 2020). The unknown is how fast they are working to try and clear that backlog. If they are now working at the same pace as before the pandemic (which they may well not be yet) then I would have 5-6 months to wait from July when things ramped back up again. There are so many variables unfortunately though. They could be working faster than usual to catch up or they could be working slower than before due to ongoing restrictions so we have no real way of knowing. I may try and contact them at some point but all the contact forms state for people not to contact for that reason as they cant comment on visa availability etc at the moment. I got the reminder email a few days ago from NVC telling me i was still in line and that they would be in contact as soon as an appointment was available. That comes every 60 days i think.
I'll update if i find anything else out.

Hi Kris_0121,
Ah a fellow F1 applicant for the London Embassy! Yes we are few and far between it seems which makes it hard to work out how long we have left to wait. 😩
Whilst the marriage category seems to work quicker than ours in terms of the wait for interview i think the backlog in our category is less in volume so im hoping they can pick up and start catching up really soon.
I will definitely update this thread with any information i find out and also as soon as i receive word of my interview. As frustrating as it is, we have done most of the waiting now, (it's just over 7 years in total now for myself,) hopefully only a few more months left to go!
Here's hoping for good news really soon!
Dan
