Ricdan reacted to TBoneTX in Filing this week for AOS Help me please i really need help
Because of the OP's belligerent tone, both in opening and responding within this thread, the thread is closed to further comments and administrative action has been taken. The specific violation of the VisaJourney Terms of Service is:
"Make comments in a Post either direct or implied toward another member that are purposely designed to upset, antagonize, make fun of, belittle, harass, insult, or otherwise instigate an argument that takes away from the personal enjoyment of the Service by other users."
This thread is a reminder that one's success in a do-it-yourself navigation of the immigration process relies upon the ability to read instructions and advice accurately, interpret literally, and answer completely and honestly.

You have the correct address. A lot of times government agencies lease space in privately owned buildings. For example, the building where my local Social Security Administration office is housed is called the Xerox building.
About the time frame. Give them time, they just received it on Wednesday. You have to keep in mind that they receive hundreds of cases and they have to sort them out. You should be getting a text/email in the coming days. Be patient.

    1. He needs to take his green card to the social security office. The name on his green card is his legal name. They will make the correction and send him a new card.
    2. Since he's not a US citizen his passport was issued by Uruguay and is governed by that governments laws and regulations. It has absolutely nothing to do with a document issued by the US government. So no, he does not need to get a new passport.
    3. It will not affect his immigration status in anyway. He is just correcting a mistake on his social security card.

Ricdan got a reaction from NancyNguyen in form I 864 for spouse and joint sponsor
Yes, your wife has to file an I-864 too. She must attach a letter to the end of the form stating that she did not file an income tax return last year because she did not work and thus had no income to report. Your joint sponsor should also include current pay statements, proof of US citizenship/permanent residence, and last years W2.

It doesn't matter if they receive it before or after your visa expires because of the category you fall under. Even if you overstay your visa you can still apply for adjustment of status because you were inspected by an immigration officer when you came into the States and you are an immediate relative of a U.S. citizen. I used Fedex for mine a year ago and for my mom's I used USPS Priority Mail on the 10th of this month. USCIS received my mom's packet on the 13th. I was the same way when I was ready to send my packet. I stressed about every single detail; however, everything workedout for me and everything will workout for you too.

Yes, you can. I edited the photo at home and placed 6 2x2 images on a 4x6 canvas. I took my flash drive to FedEx Office and printed it there for 35 cents. You can also print it at Walmart's photo center.

I took my own pictures too. I took them with my cell phone, cropped them with GIMP, and printed them at FedEx office. I used the papercutter that they have at Fedex Offcice to cut them. I cut them slightly smaller than 2x2 and I never heard anything from USCIS about them. I assume, mind you this is just an assumption, that they attach these photos to your physical file and the photo that they take at the biometrics appointment is your digital photo that they keep in their system.

I think that this part of form I-485 confuses a lot of people applying for adjustment of status. Everyone that has posted thus far is correct. Choose box A.

I understand that moment of doubt. It happened to me when I filed my own AOS Packet and now that I filed my mom's. You do not need to include a copy of your husband's birth certificate with the I-485 as long as you have included one with the I-130. As a matter of fact there is no need to include copies of both a passport and birth certificate from the petitioner. Only one or the other is good enough. USCIS just needs to verify that the petitioner is a US Citizen when they process the I-130.
