Goodluck.. I am so happy for you guys.. I hope the docs they received just before Christmas will have the MNL case numbers too.

yes soon enough you will, just track the people's timelines here and you'll pretty much see when you'll receive yours :) Goodluck!

Glad to hear you got your case number, Trish. Curiousgeorgina, yours must be ready now/soon too. I hope you hear good news today.

Susan and Velvety, what's up with your cases? You both should have had NOA2 some time ago. I know it's within 'normal processing time,' but is there anything you can do to shake CSC up a bit?

I just called the NVC and got my case number :) I wasn't able to to give them our email addresses due to some updated or encoding delay they have I forgot the right term but she said to call them again next week so I can give them the addresses. :) The welcome letter was sent out January 15th she said. :) I also asked for my IIN as the VJ NVC instruction said to ask for it too.

For those who are still waiting, still keeping my fingers crossed for you guys. :) But we all know here it'll be all worth it! :)

Applied I 130 when my wife was an LPR. PD Feb 03 2014. Mid of Oct my wife became USC and upgraded the petition(Oct 30). My PD also changed to Oct 30. USCIS told me to wait another 4 months to get the approvals.. waiting...

oh, sorry for that, but hang in there! This thread is here if you want to rant as this thread is for all of us going through the same stage :)

  2. call them georgina we were only a day apart and i have my case number you should too i got mines on the 15th . so excited and scared at the same time lol. good luck

wow case numbers everywhere! yes me too, I am scared and excited at the same time!

I have this ROM to also think about and those CFO stickers so it's a bunch of paperwork in one!

What stage are you at now? Filled out DS 261? and waiting for the invoice?

  3. thank you every for the tips and posts! :)

We will definitely have to just go ahead with fedex if ever my husband needs to send me documents.

But right now, got lucky as a our friend's cousin is coming home from the US next week, and has agreed for us to just mail her the letter and she'll bring it to me! I do hope there won't be a problem from USPS as they need to reach her on time!

Just mailed the letter from east to west coast and hopefully she gets it! Fingers crossed all goes well.

    Once again thank you everyone!

  4. Never use USPS when sending stuff to the Philippines. Their counterpart which is Phil Post is unreliable.

I remember several letters and gifts that were sent to USPS, one I had to call almost everyday after my estimated time.. and yes they were slow. as for a birthday card, took them forever to send me.

I've read some posts packages do get lost or probably mail.. I wish one day Phil Post would get their act together. I've seen first hand how the customs part is not synced with the actual warehouse where the packages are kept.

these experiences of mine were like 2 years ago though.

  5. So they want originals of everything, plus 4 copies, I hope it all goes well for you. This is a first for me, curious how it goes.

thank you sir, I only needed this because of CFO and from what I read the USEM asks for the CEMAR too, have you known anyone who was married abroad and was required for a CEMAR?

I will definitely make a post about this when I have successfully done it.

you could use the post office usps express deliver with tracking number. It will arrived next day and you will have the number to track it with. USPS is a lot cheaper then Fedex or ups. The drawback is I am not sure how far your husband is from the nearest post office there, and he might have to wait in line longer

oh! really?? I have stayed up so late calling couriers (Except) usps and could not believe how expensive it is! Are you guys always using USPS? and is it reliable with tracking?

and usps is no problem, he's like 10 minutes away

  6. Just read the requirements for doing this with DFA.. yikes! Doesn't mention original of birth certificate though.

    https://www.dfa.gov.ph/index.php/requirements-for-delayed-registration-of-report-of-marriage

under the title sir it says originals and 4 photocopies

yes sir, that was my reference when I was looking at how to report it here.. I think I have called them like 3 times to see if their answers were going to change but unfortunately all can be photocopies but the lady said that the birth certificate should at least be original for both parties.. she even said my husband's signature and notary wasn't needed on the form, at least one of us appears in person and one of our signatures was on it.

It sounded a bit strange but I shall hold their word for that.. lol. I will once call them again tomorrow regarding how long the process is.. if not I might have to spend that much for a piece of paper. :crying:

  7. married in the US.. now I am back in the philippines and the dfa manila said i can report it to them but they have to have my husband's original birth certificate.. the courier costs are so expensive! He's flying here in March and was thinking of just asking him to bring it but I don't know how long til we get the cemar we aren't sure if how long we'll have to wait for that as we don't want a delay just because I have to have the CEMAR. for CFO and I guess for the interview

If I could just at least know that it only takes 2 months for the DFA to report it to NSO and have CEMAR ready when requested it would be nice so I won't have to worry about sending an important document through a courier.

  8. I just wanted to share my happiness. I called Friday to request expedite of our petition. Today when I logged in to USCIS to check our case history, it showed that they had sent me a reply to my request. I called to inquire what the decision was, and the customer service representative told me they GRANTED the expedite request. Then, tonight I received the e-mail that our petition was approved!!!

    nice! congrats! :)

  9. Hi all. I had a NOA2 from CSC on Nov 24th and called this morning to news that my case has been received!!! (18 days)

They might have sent a batch from CSC so if you haven't heard maybe give them a call. Hope it's good news for others as well :dancing:

They quoted me 30 days to get a case # which seems pretty on par for what others on VJ are experiencing. GOOD LUCK!

because of your post I once again had confidence on checking if they received our case. :D I just talked to someone from NVC a few minutes ago and said our case was received on the 10th of December! :)

VSC here! I got quoted though 42 days.. which is.. hmmm. I don't believe it yet. :clock: and she said 42 days after receiving the case.. I don't know how they determine the days...

  10. yes. My I got approved 2012. I was single and 27 at that time.. I even was a freelance designer. It was pretty surprising to be approved since the approval rate for women in my situation and country is low.

My reason for visit was to see my sister since it was going to be her graduation and I was gonna be the rep for my parents.

I think I got approved because of my travel history.

  11. Hey guys, does anyone know the step by steps after recieving the noa2 by email? I'm kind of confused on what to do next. I just recieved by email that my case was approved yesterday 12/14/14.

It's up to you if you want to call the NVC if they received your case. :) They would give you a spiel though saying to wait for 35 days after you got the approval so that you can get your case number. :)

Here's a link to what's the next step..

Congrats and goodluck with the NVC :)

  12. Ok the felony charge would make sense.. Flying to her might be a challenge. Let alone living with her..

I'll look at another aspect, not legally, but how a filipina can be in such situations.

Don't involve your parents by having the co sponsor when they are this doubtful.. You are already starting a small trouble and already giving them the wrong impression about your girlfriend. Your parents clearly cares about you.. It will be hard to convince with only plans and no actions.

Also, if your gf loves her family as much as you have implied in your statements, then you have to understand that she wouldn't want to be caught in between you and the parents, so you'll be giving her a stressful environment when you'll have her live with them.

She may say that she will stand with you against any odds on this but if you actually really do love her, you shouldn't put her in that situation and if you can, have an income of your own to get her there.

It's hard because this forum might not say the words you wAnt to hear but it's because people here have read and experienced a lot. Too good to be true instances or even instances that felt so reL eventually goes so wrong or was only a lie. (Of course some people prevail over this or truly find honest partners) but with your case it's tricky, so we are more careful than just saying hey, this is it! You can do it!

Anyway that's just my opinion, you parents will be seen as how your gf sees her parents.. She will treat them with the amount of respect so if your parents do not favor her right now this will surely stress her out. There might be the ending that she will:

    1. Leave because she wouldn't want to deal with this kind of situation because she doesn't want to be in between and see you in not good terms with them or

    2. Fight for your relationship and prove them wrong.

    3. Another scenario is she would leave because since if there will be tension, and you mentioned she is the breadwinner.. She might opt to leave and just focus on helping her family.

A filipina does not end her responsibility in regards with her family. It will go on even if she gets married.

  13. Sir Darnell's suggestion is something you should ponder on.. If she loves you enough where you both are wouldn't matter. Especially if you stated that she is the more financially stable one.

Your parents are right and I've had a relationship purely just online and it ended up as a disaster, my expectation of a well thought out plan wasn't well thought out after all, it broke my heart and it made me realize you really need to at least be with them physically and get to really know them..because if it's only through online, we always have our best foot forward and we don't see the actual character of the person.

  14. Just a few days ahead of you. Let me know if you hear anything from NVC, I am going to try and call this morning as well. I can't wait around and do nothing haha! Even if it's 30 mins on hold to hear, "not yet". :clock:

For 30 minutes I have redialed until I was able to get in and waited another 35 minutes just to hear someone's voice! (thank God for Google Voice or else I wouldn't be able to call that much and wait that long) haha. well I feel bad for them as I know they are handling thousands of calls every day..

anyway, the only response I got was it takes 35 days for them to receive the case :( I guess NVC is becoming slower now with the processing since more and more petitions are being approved faster than before.

Let us know what their response to you is. :P
