It's so easy to say 'pack your things and leave him' but that's actually the hardest thing to do. I'm sure you know you have to leave. I'm sure you know things are not going to change. I'm also sure you're freaking out because leaving seems so scary and hard so you're trying to find some other options but unfortunately they don't exist. The situation you're in is so unhealthy for you and if you stay and choose to accept and tolerate everything, you'll end up ruining your health and your own sanity. There is no excuse for him to lay his hands on you in any way that is uncomfortable for you. If he's cheating or looking for chats and flirts online, refusing to sleep in the same room and bed with you, it means he has kind of given up on your marriage. You deserve to be happy and obviously you aren't and only you can change that.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do just please make sure to be safe.

You know , I read this and this sounds like a lifetime channel classic saturday afternoon movie.
C'mon you already know what you need to do, you need no advice.
You need to make the ultimate decision, the brave decision....whatever that is for you
I for one if I was you and I was a woman I would leave before it escalates into more serious violence.
Everytime he hits you and you stay...you let him know that his behavior is accetable to you.
His behavior and level of violence will only get worse!
Put your big girl panties on, pack your Sh*t and leave.
Sorry if I come off to strong, but you did ask for opinions and advice!

Hi! I see you live in Atlanta too it takes 2 months for ATL people to get EAD ( for the past months we all have been in that time )
Can you look at your case just writing the case number without logging session????
There are times when people get interviews so fast that they get their green card before the EAD is approved. Since you say you got that update about your interview, you could be one of those. That's better to have directly the green card! You just have to wait when there is a time you will get the letter. There is nothing you are missing by not getting text or emails. Hard copies is the important thing and they usually arrive in a few days after the emails, so don't worry about that!!
By the way your case is going very fast! Atlanta office is usually not the fastest one so feel lucky

Oh, then please stay put until you do get the AP. If you leave without it, you will most likely have to do the IR petition from Spain - a separation from your spouse for another 8 mths - 1 year; your tourist visa application will most certainly be denied.
I understand, just hang in there and hope for the best. I'd love to travel home too but just have to wait out my AOS process too.

Before the AOS is approved, USCIS will have to address the likely to become a public charge question. Since the original petitioner is incarcerated, they will probably require a joint sponsor before they would deny the application. Any US Citizen or Green Card holder domiciled in the USA can be a joint sponsor.
Don't apply for means tested benefits that you are not entitled to receive. The I-864 is a legally binding contract between the signer and the US Government. In that contact, the Government can seek reimbursement from the sponsor if the beneficiary received benefits they were not entitled to. If the Government could not recoup funds from the sponsor, they would seek reimbursement from the joint sponsor.

Clearly, there is something missing here,we are not getting the whole information.
1.You went to the police and gave "hypothetical situations",sounds like you had nothing to report, that is why the police didn't believe you.
2.You are a student and don't make much money, how did you sponsor him?
Am just asking, otherwise,if the marriage is broken, seek divorce, ask a divorce lawyer, they are likely to listen to your situation considering your financial position. As for the bank account, open yours, withdraw money from the joint one(what you believe is rightfully yours).Once you qualify to file for divorce wherever you are, serve him copies,if he doesn't respond, show proof to judge and you will be granted divorce.
    Best of luck

icv21 got a reaction from I AM NOT THAT GUY in How to ask for co-sponsor?
The only issue I can see here is that Americans citizens have to file taxes even if they live abroad.
when you do AOS yo have to show US taxes for the past years, saying you lived in Thailand wont work as an excuse and even if you had a co sponsor you still need to show your taxes because you still file the form.

But still a few months. With that I mean shorter way that spouse visa. He mentions he is in Ukraine and doesn't care when going back but at the same time he mentions about "playing dumb" which is a NO NO and lottery visa. That shows their plan is to move and live in the US together. So K-1 is what I believe is faster

Hi everyone, I just wanted to share that I received my Green Card in the mail on Friday. It took a total of 99 days to have the card in hand since we applied.
I'm so happy and relieved that this process is over. I see lots of people getting interviews in January and I wish everyone of you good luck.
Thanks for all the support and God bless every single one of you.

Haha! Yes, I think its the many hours of travel that makes one feel lazy and/or tired. It is my hometown, so I am perfectly fine for however many hours it takes to go home . Well hey! With his frequent travels, it would be possible to use his sky miles to get a free flight ticket for you! Good luck for your interview in January!!!

Please do us a favor and update us whenever your friend attempts to come back to the US. I have a gut feeling she won't be allowed back in unless she filed for advanced parole.

Malaysia would be your hub for further Asia travels! We have a budget carrier called "Air Asia". Flying to Bali (Indonesia) would cost you $50. To fly to Japan from Kuala Lumpur would be around $150. My husband is tired of Malaysia now, we fly home once a year and he thinks he had enough of it (hahaha). I assured him that next year will be different, I have Hong Kong and India in our schedule while we are there
