  1. It seems like there isn't any kind of centralized leadership at USCIS, especially with a lack of training of new employees.  So many errors are reported here at VJ and we probably only represent 1% of the total applications being processed.  Think about the other 99% not on VJ having to deal with all of this.  Over the long term, most everyone is approved when the submitted information is legitimate.  It just takes more time for the inconveniences of getting extensions.  Good luck to everyone.

  2. We received a recall notice in early May and returned the incorrect green card on May 22.  The only post change on the website status was that the green card was recalled, and that didn't appear until June 10.   We finally sent an email to USCIS to the address in our recall letter and received a response that they couldn't tell us anything about our case through email, and couldn't even answer our question of whether or not they received the green card.  But they gave two pages of what to do in case international travel is required.  Since our original ROC extension letter doesn't end until September 30, 2018, we're ok for a little bit longer.  But we hated to surrender the 10 year green card and know this would probably happen.  Meanwhile, we asked our attorney to check into this and she was at least able to get more information that they received our green card and that we should give them until July 5, 2018 before making another inquiry.  There was also another error on the green card in regard to the name reverting back to the pre-married name change; so that may also be causing a longer time to correct.

How's everyone doing? I still have no updates on my case which I know is still normal. Anyway, @Tcarrol Congratulations on your GC!

Thank you.  Our journey started over 10 years ago.  Our K1 process took well over a year (about 18 months).  Perhaps that's why we were approved in 8 months on ROC.  We had a lot of evidence to submit.  All of you have our best hopes and wishes.  Nobody likes to wait.  But on the bright side, just about everyone gets approved.

Congratulations!! So did you find out if your case has been rrally transferred to your local office or  not?

To tell you the truth, our online status still states that our case has moved to another office.  We received approval letter on March 5 and Resident Card yesterday in the mail.  The uscis.gov website is definitely not giving updated information.  Set up an account at the other site: myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov .  That site has tracked us well, although it has posted misinformation also saying that we were denied on an appeal (we were never denied and never appealed anything) and also said it corrected birth dates and name changes; all of it not true.  So, just be careful of what is seen online.  And remember, if you are truly a married couple, you will be approve.  It's difficult to deny an i-751 case without evidence to the contrary.  Everyone will be approved.

We got the approval in the mail on March 5, and the website said we had been moved to a local office on March 4.  The approval letter said we were actually approved on March 1.  So it appears it was a done deal before the online message changed to "moved to a local office".  A side note, when we received the letter, the name reverted back to the original name before marriage.  Our attorneys filed a request to put the name back to what was on the original green card and application for lifting conditions.  We received a letter in the mail today that the correction was made and that a green card would be mailed in 120 days.  The www.uscis.gov website still shows our I-751 was moved to a local office.  The myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov site shows that the green card in in production.  By the way, the letter arriving today was from the Pittsburgh office, which is our local office.  So, these two websites must have different purposes and are filled with misleading information.  Let's hope someone in their Tech Department is sorting everything out.

I got my conditional GC in January 21, 2018. And then I applied for Removal of condition on 10/31/2016. Never heard about my ROC for like almost a year so on October 23rd 2017 I wend ahead and apply for my  Citizenship.

    - I never get an interview for my ROC when I went to my citizenship interview but my husband went with me even though we didn't received an interview for ROC just incase we get one.

    - I passed the interview but the officer did not approved me because he has to review my ROC application first. And then 6 days later after my interview I got an email and my status online updated that I was approved and they placed me in line for an Oath. 10 days later I got an update again to attend my Oath. And that was it, I am now a Proud US citizen and never heard about my ROC nor received my 10 year GC.

Good luck on your journey and I hope you will get your interview very soon.

  7. We received the same email yesterday regarding our case was still under review, and yet, we were approved on March 1, 2018 and received our approval letter on March 5.  The site www.uscis.gov just doesn't keep up with current information.  It still shows our case under review after being transferred to a local office.   The site at myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov seems to be the accurate site to use.  It had our approval on March 5.  And, today, it showed that our green card was in production.  So, any of you could be surprised with a letter in the mail regarding being approved well before being notified on the web.  Good luck to all of you.

Does anyone have experience with congressional inquiries? If my congressman asks USCIS about my case, does it speed the process up or no?

    Thanks in advance!

We used our state Senator twice (Senator Casey), once during our i-212 process, and once for AOS.  Your Senator's office is permitted to call and ask for the status of your case, but not permitted, by law, to intercede; which they tell you, but I do not believe.  Both times, after we got a report from our Senator's office, we soon received approvals.  Since you have two Senators for each state, I'd suggest you choose wisely which one you make the request.  By the way, we were just getting ready to make contact again to the same Senator for the Removal of Conditions since it had been about 7 months, and then we received a written approval.  Some people speculate that perhaps that helped us on this process because of past requests.

  9. We had an AP that lasted three months, however the passport was kept during that time.  If you have an attorney working with you, I would put your trust in her.  They seem to have special connections with USCIS and embassies and know when to push, and when to wait.  Yes, its tough to plan wedding plans, but that just adds to the frustration if you are trying to do that now.  Put the wedding plans on hold, and know that this will all work out.

Horse feathers.  Wedding pictures are never "required" and they CERTAINLY are not "proof" of a bona fide marriage.  "EVIDENCE" of a bona fide marriage is about the relationship, not a ceremony.  Where not having them could become a problem is if the couple is trying to avoid telling their family or families until after the visa is in hand.  That is evidence AGAINST a bona fide marital relationship.

We did not have a big wedding; we also went to a magistrate and took one picture of the two of us with the magistrate.  We made sure to include other pictures of us together and with each others' families over the past few years.  We were granted our ROC i-751 without an interview and without wedding photo's (except for the one).  I believe joint income tax statements, joint bank accounts, and anything owned together is far better proof that the marriage is legit.  We also turned in a monthly log of things we did together with pictures, kind of like a photo album.

Can you confirm as u said you applied ( I-751 )in July 2017 and you got your approval  for 10 year GC in March 2018 ??

    Thanks

Yes, we can confirm this (I-751) July 2017 filer.  Our attorney confirmed this with her own contact with USCIS, but she was surprised as well.  Oddly, our USCIS.gov status still says our files were transferred to our local office on March 4, and yet the approval date on the written paper says it was approved February 28, 2018.  But, the other site at my account.uscis.dhs.gov shows it approved.  No word on green card production, but we'll keep updating our timeline every step of the way.  Ever since Monday when we received the approval in the mail, we were hoping many of you would also receive approval as well.  Although we are happy, we want everyone here to have the same happiness so we will continue to follow all of your timelines.

Thank you for Tcarrol for sharing this. I created an account on the link you provided and found out the case history. But the thing I’m confused about is that the case number for my I-751 (not the CRI-89) have different dates on link that you shared and on where we usually check the case status which is on the egov.uscis.gov. On the egov case status online inquiry it says my case was transferred to my local office last Marcg 5,2018 and then on the link that you provided it says feb 26 and feb 27 my case was transferred and i dont receive a mail notification by last week of March (i forgot the date) I should send a case inquiry.

July 2017 filer here at CSC.

    :):)

From an IT person in our family, we are told that if USCIS had a system that was being upgraded or repaired, (as we know was the case on Sunday, March 4), once repaired, if the system index was in place before the restoration, then it was possible that anyone with changes in the system would have dates changed to the date, March 4.  Again, this is just an opinion.  But if you read other threads on this site, a lot of people got the same message on March 4.

Thanks for this!  I didn't realize there were two log ins

    My entries show:

    June 1 Received case

    Feb 25 Received case

    Feb 27 Received case

It says if I have not received anything in the mail by March 29 I am to send a case inquiry....so I am hoping I get something by then.  I am a end of May filer but it was received June 1.

I found out this information on another thread "Case Was Received At My Local Office".  There is a lot good information there as well.  I truly believe there was major shift at USCIS to reduce the backlog.  But that's just my opinion.  I am truly hoping everyone will get their approval sooner than expected.

  14. Found out there is another link which gives more information.  You'll need to set up an account using your email.  It certainly gives a lot more information, although some of the entries were obvious errors such as "appeal denied" and "name changed".  None of those occurred with us.

    Our entries were:

    July 14 Received Case

    February 25 Received Case

    February 27 Reviewed Case

    March 1 Approved

March 5 This is the date we received written confirmation in the mail.

Hi! Congratulations! However I'm confused, as I saw in July 2017 fillers your approval was not coming from your local office?

No.  Someone on that thread said that all approvals come from The National Benefits Center in Missouri.  That was the return address on the envelope.  I don't know for sure who approved our application, whether it was California or our local office in Pennsylvania.  Our attorney in California is a big firm and they said we were their only ROC client approved since 2016, so they are trying to find out an answer as well.

Err... Say what? A CSC July 2017 approval, when they are allegedly processing September 2016 cases.

    Umh ... Congratulations! :-)

What the hell is going on?

Our attorney just called us and said they also received a copy of our approval.  She was surprised also.  She plugged in all of our numbers (receipt and A-number) and it all checked out.  Guess we'll see what happens next.

wow! July 2017 filer and CSC? you case got approved pretty quick. Congrats!

We are in shock.  We just didn't expect this.  I was just getting ready to contact our US Senator who helped us twice before.  I am hoping that somehow, with all the messages people are getting online regarding their applications being moved to local offices, that this means everyone's applications are going to now be approved.
