Hubby checked the box. Got it in less than a week- even with an change of address issue.

One thing I noticed throughout the 4 years on these forums and reading many many reviews is Pictures do matter. They tell alot. I have seen people denied and told their pictures were staged. I have read many accounts of CO's complimenting when pictures are taken of people just living not posing.
Another friend talked about how the CO just went on and on about a set of pics of her pounding yam (no small thing to do). He liked that she was trying.
Or they man that was caught hand washing his wife's under clothes the CO thought that was very sweet.
Showing "Risque" pics and dialog just shows real folk. (well don;t be like someone I know who all they submitted was sex chats for 2 years. They been in AP over a year. I mean you have to have a little bit more on the table right.
I think that's cute kamw. Just know you made a CO's day. hehe

So I left this out but hubby printed out a bunch of pics And accidentally included 1 inappropriate one. It's not horrible but truly for our eyes only (don't judge, we were on vacation). I yelled at him and told him absolutely not,don't bring it. He swore he took it out but after the interview he was goin through them and saw the inappropriate one right in the middle of the stack. The CO looked at every single pic and his mood changed tremendously after seeing the pics and hubby was approved a minute later.
Not saying that's why we were approved but his interview was Friday and our status changes to Issued today so something worked input favor. Lmao.

I can't decide between laughing or crying so I'll do both.
Hubby was approved at his interview this morning.
I'm completely delusional and hysterical cause I haven't slept so I'll be back later with details.
Thank you guys soooo much for all the help and support during this process. When I started it seemed like soooo much but now that I'm done it was so simple with such knowledgable people to turn to.

I am sure that after what happened on Dec 2nd, immigration is going to get a lot more difficult. You are definitely hearing more about the K1 Visa process in the media after this. The thing I don't like is that we all know what the process is and how difficult it can be, yet media bring their "immigration lawyers" on there to talk about it and the funny thing is - I know more about the K1 Visa process (thanks to Visa Journey and our own journey thru it) than the lawyer they interviewed.

It is a shame that possibly one bad person can make the process more difficult for real, honest and true loving relationships. I know we must be vigilant, but shaming the K1 Visa process just rubs me the wrong way. Just my opinion

Today my husband had his CR1 interview. He had to wait close to 5 HOURS before it was finally his turn, but when he was called in to talk with the consulate, he wasn't asked even one question. We went through a K1 visa process in 2014, then back for CR1 now (long story), When he went in, he saw it was the same person who interviewed him for the K1. The consulate smiled and said, "Welcome back. We meet again!" then he told him, "Congratulations! You're on your way back to your wife! I hope this time everything works out great." and then gave him back our evidence of relationship that we sent to USCIS and NVC, and the approval document. My husband was baffled that he wasn't asked even one question! God is great! I'm so thankful we're approved! I have to keep pinching myself! Thank you to everyone who prayed for us! <3

Been staying away from VJ for a bit as the process has my wife and I depressed and I see everyone else going through NVC. It is hard to look at other people in some of the other threads who only send in I-130 a few months ago, got approved super quick and are now complaining that NVC is slow and they are almost at the same point as we are...like 7 months faster...it is really getting hard.
We called NVC last Friday. They still couldn't see our emailed documents in the system.
The rep told me to email the documents again with a note about it being the second time and that they were sent originally on what date.
He said he put us on a list for a supervisor to look at our case and find the documents.
So I resent all the emails on Sunday morning to them as requested.
Not sure what else to do..have not called yet this week. Not sure I want to hear more bad news. We thought about applying for an expedite but not sure it will help and could slow us down if the consulate here is slow to reply.

Like someone said- USCIS hears that a lot. I can't tell you how many time I've heard that in my lifetime.
As long as everything for you is 100% legit you have nothing to worry about. Advise him you are not coming and you do not intend on making any decisions on the apartment until you have had time to think about it. Let him know that if he continues to harass you, you will print his emails and send it to the Israeli government to show that he is harassing ,blackmailing you and trying to defraud you of your inheritance from your mother.
There seems to be more to the story and you may want to take the time to figure out exactly what he's trying to accomplish. Is it possible that the apartment was only in your moms name and she left it to just you?

Where my fiance lives in Guyana, the only food around is sold at a bazar style street where once a week everything is laid out on rugs. I have been trying to explain to her places like Stop&Shop and Walmart but she can't grasp the idea that these places can exist. So that will be one stop. Already been said but take her shooting. She has never felt temps below about 60 degrees so that will be interesting (Connecticut) and take her to the mall to show her the giant clothing stores (JCP, Macy's). And last but not least, the bank. She has to wait hours upon hours to get any money from the bank since everyone in town gets paid on the same day. She honestly might be most excited about not having to wait in line, and being able to just use a card here besides seeing me of course.
I will have the pleasure of flying back with her which will be her first time on a plane.

I'd have to say The NYC Public Library in Midtown.My Fiance loves to read and is a truly incredible writer but books are censored in his country so this is something that he will truly enjoy! And its such a beautiful library!
I also want to show him the Museums, Central Park and the Subway!!! So fun to think about!

Don't laugh but I'm dying to take him to walmart! He's going to be like...what? Tires, socks, food under one roof? Hahaha

Have you tried going to a temp/staffing agency? They can help with your resume and equip you with skills to get an interview and nail it. Since they do a lot of hiring they can tell you where you're falling short. Also they may be able to find you some short term stuff to get your feet wet.
I'm not trying to be judgmental but it doesn't really sound as if you're trying really hard. Trying to find a job is more than just applying online. Have you tried to take some short training courses? Gotten out of you house with a stack of resumes and looked for places that hire people in the roll you want and spoken to them in person? Started networking and going to social work events in your areas? Looked up job fairs at colleges near you?
When I first moved here i spent the first week applying online. After that I took a stack of resumes and Monday morning I put on my only professional suit. I walked business to business, asked for the manager and told them I was interested in applying for a job at their company. Half way through the first week I landed an interview on the spot and started the next week. Treat your job search like a job- do it Monday to Friday. Do your research, find out how you can better yourself, research positions you would like and see what requirements you don't need. If you're bent on not working an inferior job you will have to work you're butt off for it.

To all my Jamaicans awaiting interview....Andrews Memorial Hospital seems to be the only place that is currently conducting medicals. My husband's medical is scheduled for 9/22. We were told to bring $15240 for registration and an extra $15000 for possible vaccines. We were also told it is a lengthy process and to expect being there all day. OMG!!! I am so happy to write this to you VJ family... Where do I start.. Thanks to each and every one of you who stood by me and my fiancé with either help... understanding and prayers. I am beat up and down but survived to tell the happy ending. I could not wait to get back to the hotel to let you all know the results. I will write a detailed review after I get some sleep. 8 hours in a car on Jamaican roads is no JOKE. the drive was worse then the interview lol. I am sure a few of you know what I am saying... anyways I got to give a special thanks to TBONE TX, EBULOWA, DWHEELS, ASHLEY, JAMERICAN GIRL, PINKERLON JAWAREE and and KEMTAM.... without you I am sure I would have not been able to handle the Stokes today. Oh and TBONE.... They asked us about our sex life SMH.. a few times. but its over and we are victorious. I am happy to help anyone who may be faced with the same situation. Read my review tomorrow!

Seem there is no immigration issue, but you can ask a question in the forum what can be done
I say stop by your local police station ask them if he can be taped making terroristic threats about
about chopping & shooting folks along with the verbal abuse in the home with a minor, If
its okay to tape him do so smartly and have him removed from the home by the cops since the child
is not in a safe environment, then take out a RO an file for a divorce.
I hope many read this ...take time to know a person, I still cant wrap my head around ppl getting marry
after meeting once (not saying you did) I hope you did not put his name on your home on car titles
let him move on, love dont live there anymore...You will find someone else.
If he's not into working he is a financial responsibility of yours even after divorce, but verbal abuse leads to
other abuses so don't take that chance, you don't have to sell your home you just have to be firm , put an alarm
in, & stay in touch with your local police...if he'll harm you then with or without him you are not safe

I saw on the spreadsheet that some people who got case complete in May getting interviews in October for Jamaica. That not very comforting. The backlog is real it seems. Free up the appointments Jamaica.

From my experience there are no Patwa (patois) translators. I've lived in Jamaica most of my life and continued visiting and I have never seen/met/spoken to a translator as our language is officially considered English and exists mostly as a spoken language. That's like requesting a Mexican translator- doesn't exist. It would be a Spanish-speaking person that might had experience with the country specific dialect.
Make a list of questions and have a third party sit you guys down and read the questions exactly as they are written. You don't respond or try to correct him if he gets something wrong, just write it down. Go through about 20 questions at a time and give him time to think. Explain to him to think about the question and what they are asking in the question. Once completed go through and address what he said wrong.
I know I personally get frustrated easily and if I were in your position I'd make it worst if I was the one asking the questions. I've dealt with people from the deep country in Jamaica that made me scratch my help and want to ask for a translator but it's really just a matter of understanding.
As someone said above I believe the decision was made when your file arrived from USCIS and before the interview. I really thing that all that has happened after the 1st interview will be enough to get approved. Just make sure the narrative is the same from you two but don't over think it.

Native tongue? We speak English in the Caribbean! I think he just needs a little more practice and calm nerves. Listen it is what it will be. Just stay calm and stay positive, and encourage your fiancé to be his confident self. He probably just needs to know that you trust him to be at his best.

Update: Case complete today after 21 days.. Woohoo! God is good!!!
