What about Western Union? There are a number of locations in Turkey (According to a quick Google search). I downloaded the App on my phone and can send money in minutes. The receiver can quite literally pick the money up within a few minutes if needed. All you need is the persons full name as it appears on their ID. They would need to bring that ID and a code that you will be given once the money is sent and that is all.

Finally received the letter in the mail that everything was approved and then got the green card the next day!!

I posted this response yesterday and went home to find his approval notice! Still don't have the physical card just yet. It was almost 18 months from start to finish.

We applied for ROC of my husbands green card in August of 2016 and still don't have it. It is taking well over a year to a year and a half at least.

First of all I am very sorry to hear about your fiancés father  I truly hope you can all be together and he can walk his daughter down the aisle. I agree with the post above that if you are able to get a tourist visa and come here and marry sooner that would be ideal and would assure that her father would still be in better health than running the risk of waiting longer.

That being said, I just wanted to share that I actually expedited my husbands visa process because my father was terminally ill. I wanted my father to be able to meet my husband before he passed away. I was already at the NVC stage (which may make a difference) in which case I sent my request to the embassy in my husbands home country and it was accepted. It is not listed as a reason for expedite but you never know. Now obviously many factors can come into play: It depends on your home country and if there is high fraud (ours was not), It may also make a difference that we were already married and you are filing a K1 visa... I am not sure but it is always worth a try. Good luck!

1.) Nothing would happen to her residence, you would just need to make an infopass appointment for them to stamp her passport again before the one year extension expires. Hopefully we will all have our new cards by then! (Fingers crossed)

2.) Yes, if the card expires in November: 90 days prior (not always 3 months they are very literal with the 90 days) is when your window opens to apply for ROC, which you have. Same goes for Citizenship.

If you go under the forums again --> 4th section down says: US Visa Holder and Permanent Resident Immigration Discussion ---> 6th down is regarding citizenship.

I am assuming your wife is eligible to file in August of this year based on that fact that your profile states you filed a cr1/ir1 visa category and you are currently removing conditions (filling our your timeline helps make sure no one gives you bad advice). Once she was been in the states and still married to you for the 3 years then she is eligible. Therefore, yes, this august is when the window would open for her to file.

Yes in order to get a new job she will need this proof since her green card shows that it is expired, she will need to show that she is not out of status and is still legally allowed to work.

Your wife got some pretty bad information. If you go to Forums --> Removing of conditions (I-751) ----> I-751 August Filers (I am an August filer as well) You will see that so far no one has received their 10 year green card. It appears that they are still processing those that filed in May. They have seemingly slowed down since the new administration took office (could just be coincidence).

The paper that you received in the mail is her "one year green card". She will not be getting a new temporary card. That paper simply states that her green card is still valid for another year while they process the I-751 and I suggest she try to locate it.

If by August of this year she has still not received her new 10 year card then her window to apply for citizenship has opened and she may apply. This will push the I-751 application as they have to process that first. However you are correct, she does not have to do this. She can wait for the 10 year card and apply for citizenship when she is ready.

Calm down killer and re-read what I wrote. You can expedite through the embassy and skip the NVC stage once you have your NOA-2. I was just shedding some light upon all the posts saying no that he has no chance. Calmate

I disagree with everyone saying no. It is difficult to expedite right now but once you have your NOA-2 you can. I expedited mine for the exact same reason actually. I am the USC and I expedited my husbands application through the embassy because my father is terminally ill and I wanted my husband here before Christmas time that year to be able to meet my dad before my dad could no longer shake his hand or speak to him. Honestly you have to appeal to the embassy. I just wrote a letter explaining my situation and it was accepted. It will just depend on the embassy and who ever reads your request. It cant hurt to try, the worst they say is no and you keep going forward with your petition.

Please disregard my submission. We filed with a fee waiver (my husband had an accident and was out of work for months which put us very behind) which got denied. We are now scrambling to get the money together to refile within the next few weeks. We will now be August filers. Thanks!

I had a (Somewhat) similar issue. My husband was born in Costa Rica and was given both of his moms last names as his dad was not present to sign the birth certificate. At age 6, his parents brought him back to Nicaragua (both parents are Nicaraguan, thus he is as well) and he was given a Nicaraguan birth certificate. His father signed that certificate giving him one last name from mom and one from dad. Essentially he has two different birth certificates with two different names and supporting documents.

USCIS wants your actual birth certificate which is from the Philippines and you will use that name on all of your documents. We did this for my husband and his original BC from Costa Rica with that name. There is a section on the paperwork for an AKA name. There you should put your name on your Saudi passport and attach a letter explaining the situation. I never received an RFE in regards to my husband. that is not to say you wont but most everything is explainable. Good luck!

I would definitely call again and push that her coming to this country constitutes losing her previous coverage, plus she is a dependent child still under the age that qualifies for coverage through her parents... I had to argue the same thing for my husband since I didn't add him to my insurance immediately after marriage since he was still in central America. (He came on CR-1). I told them that he was coming from out of country and would be losing his benefits upon entering the country. They accepted it. There is absolutely no reason they shouldn't add her. I would be adamant about it and even ask to talk to someone else etc.

UPDATED with my info as well as Anubabes. I filed mine with a fee waiver due to financial hardship (Husband tore his ACL as was out of work for 4 months) so I know that my NOA-1 will be delayed until they decide on the waiver. On the ROC paperwork there is a question that specifically asks if you have ever been arrested or detained etc. by the police. He will have to answer yes to that question but if no charges were filed you have to submit paperwork stating that and explain the situation. It is all explained in the instructions for the document.

As far as I recall the answer to that question should be "NO". The PURPOSE of moving to the United States is to be with the spouse, period. They obviously know that once in the U.S. with the spouse he will be a productive citizen and become employed etc. however that is not why he seeks to enter the country. Does that make sense?

OP, first of all I am sorry to hear about your fiancés health. Being apart is hard let alone when someone we love is sick and needs us. I highly suggest you tell your fiancé that that is your motivation to request an expedite. I am sure that you would love to be with her in this time and are not just concerned about the financial burden. I am pretty sure I know what you fiancé is dealing with and it will not exclude her from coming to the U.S. and it should be covered under your insurance (I will assume). Obviously doing the K1, you are not yet married and cannot add her to your insurance yet. ((To the poster who stated she had to wait 60 days I am very curious of that, I added my husband to my insurance before he even entered the country on the basis he would be losing coverage.)

Anyways, the expedite request is up to the embassy. Email the embassy with your information and give them a brief story about why you want to expedite the process. I expedited my husbands process (After 18 months apart) due to my fathers terminal illness and wanting them to meet before my dad passed away. It is truly up to the embassy and a lot of factors are involved. They accepted my request for expedite. HOWEVER, they did ask my husband if he knew about my fathers illness (which he did obviously). Therefore, I highly recommend you talk to your fiancé and let her know that you wish to speed it up so you can help her and be with her. DO NOT make it about finances (although it obviously plays a role). I think she will be more receptive to it.

If you supplied them with copies of the birth certificate and you are only bringing the original to show them, you should get it back. I made the mistake of supplying them with the original documents in my package because I misunderstood and had to fill out a document after the fact and send it to the National Records Center to get it back. So just know even if they keep it for some strange reason, you can still get it back!

Yes this sometimes may depend on the country or someone's particular case. The Nicaraguan embassy allows the petitioner to go to the interviews but it is not required. I was not able to go to my husbands interview and it was not a problem. Had I been in Nicaragua at the time and wanted to go I could have. but No it is NOT REQUIRED.

If you do want to have it done professionally (which is not 100% necessary as was stated above) I used Rev.com for my husbands documents (I wasn't aware at the time that I could do it) and they were great. You can upload the document online (I just took a picture of it) and they have a 24 hour turn around. It was super easy and not expensive at all.
