I am not seeking approval from anybody here, specially in a online forum. I asked a question an i expected good people, with experience, specially old members, to ask me about why, how, when, what, etc and guide me in what could I improve and take with me to the interview,. The last that i expected, was a staff member, saying "in my opinion you are taking advantage" But its all good. I will just leave the community, not worth it to put time and effort to help others if nobody is here to help, just to judge and accuse people

Nobody said anything about being a housewife. But it makes sense if she “can’t live without you” (your words, not ours) that she would be rushing to live with you. I mean, you moved thousands of miles to be together. Why can’t she move 150? Once she’s in Austin she will find it a lot easier to get a job there. She’ll be able to network, attend events, be able to attend interviews at short notice. If she’s good at what she does, she won’t be out of work for long in a place like Austin. And it would mean you’re not paying 2 rents and 2 sets of utilities. Maybe the company that she loves even has a branch in Austin or nearby where she can transfer? 

 

Interesting that this change of location dramatically reduced the wait time for your N-400. Now if I were a gambling person I might be tempted to say the job had nothing to do with it. You just wanted your citizenship as quickly as possible so that you can divorce your wife and move on. Seems you are just staying married to get citizenship under the 3-year rule. 

 

 

Just FYI, we are both from the same country, we met in our birth country, not here, we dated for 5 years there, and we ended up staying here after i came to meet my father in law(from brazil too, but naturalized too). We have been living together for almost 8 years, between Brazil and here, so please just shut up  If I wanted my citzenship quick I could divorce my wife and wait 6 months and apply for the 5 year rule. But we plan to be together, bring my mother in law here too(she still in Brazil) so we can have kids and our kids can have grand parents

While a tad blunt, previous posters are right. It can look as though you are "hanging on" to the marriage till the interview, since you're the beneficiary and have moved away for a job without your wife. That's an honest and very real answer, and you should be prepared for that reality come interview time. Does that mean you are out of luck? No. But you better be prepared for questions and have enough sufficient evidence otherwise.

 

PS, in my opinion, tattoos won't make for good evidence. Legitimate communication between the two of you, hard evidence of you visiting one another as often as possible, maybe even evidence of your wife pursuing and looking for a new job where you are, which shows intent of her eventually following you there.

Well I appreciate your answer, that is way more respectful than our "super staff member" has been in this topic.

We lived together for 4 and a half years, I moved for a job, my sister in law moved to Austin too, the whole family plans to move to Austin, just my father in law and her still there because he has a bus company and she is the financial manager(CPA) there. My father in law will either be moving the office here or she will be coming for a new job, but I just dont pressure because we have been doing great and for me career is really important, I am super in favor of woman that are hard workers and pursue their career goals. 

But yeah, seems like people here just want to judge and find problems, instead of really read, understand, ask questions and help. So I might as well dont post anymore. I hope that "super staff member" gets punished  for judging people without even knowing who they are. This is supposed to be a collaborative community, not a judging community.

Well, I would never want to interfere in my wife career, she is an independent woman and that is one of the things that attracts me a lot on her. I don't want a house wife, and she despite that because her mom worked her whole life too. And we live 2 hour drive from each other, not a plane ticket

We went for a month vacation to Brazil, had a time with our families and we decided to try it again, we got married in Brazil too(with the family etc), with a party to all our friends and we have been doing great. We were always best friends, our problem was a lot of jealously by her part(specially social media, i think a lot of people can relate) and we are young so we are still learning with each other.

So me and my wife have our I751/N400 combo interview in 2 weeks, and because of a job opportunity we have not been living 100% of the time together for the past 4 months(I got a really really good job offer in Austin that I could not say no and since my job pays more than double what I made before it made sense even tho paying 2 rents.), we live around 150 miles apart and see each other every weekend driving back and forth (I live in Austin and she lives in Fort Worth). She did not move to Austin yet because I do not want her to feel pressure to leave her current job(that she loves), but she has been applying for jobs here that fits her career goals but still didn't find anything that she likes. Does that affect in any bad way us in the interview? We have tattoos with each others names, all our bills together, bank accounts, credit cards, both cars in both names, etc...

I applied December 2017 and my interview will be in the San Antonio office on Oct 10th. Possibly combo interview since i have I751 pending as well

I am having my N400 interview on october 10th, looks like will be a "combo" one because my ROC did not move at all

Just to update on my case. I recently moved from Fort Worth to Austin, consequently my USCIS Office change to San Antonio, my waiting time came down from 22 months to only 7 months, and they already took action on my case.

I have the I751 pending from January 2017, so i think i will have a combined interview

I truly regret applying for the N400, because my office is the Dallas Office and the waiting time is 20.5 months lol.

Its been 18 months with nothing in the I-751.

I need to travel internationally for work and will need to get stamp on my passport again.

It is so frustrating how much we pay for it and we get treated like this

Hello everybody.

I need a help from y'all before I go consult an attorney, since I always got better answers here in this forum. Me and my wife have been going thru a difficult time where either me or her are happy in our marriage anymore. We tried counseling, we tried traveling together to forget work and stress problems, but  it didn't work and we are to the point that we want to be happy and probably wont be together. My whole thing is that back in December, when we were still going thru counseling, we applied for my citizenship based on the 3 year rule, we actually sat together and discussed this and she said that even if we weren't staying together, she wanted me to apply and stuff. Now we sat again, we talked about divorce, and if it happens, will be a friendly agreement. My question is, if we pull the trigger and start the divorce process of me moving out and stuff, what do I need to do? Because I have 2 applications pending(I-751 January 2017 and N-400 December 2017) and to be honest I have no clue what to do, if I need to withdraw the N-400 and change the I-751 to divorce and if so, how to do it. Or do I let it like this and wait for the interview and explain the situation? Or schedule infopass to explain the situation. What is the best route to take? Thanks in advance!

So I had my biometrics rescheduled because I was out of the country the day that they scheduled the biometrics. I had my father in law sending the "reschedule" request to them on Dec 29th and Still nothing. Do you guys know how long it takes for them to confirm and give me a new date?

My biometrics are scheduled to Jan 4th and I will be out of the country till the 9th. What should I do when I come back?

I saw some Dallas applicants online that were processed and approved in 5-6 months in the last couple months, lets hope for the best.

I hope at least that my ROC get approved, i dont mind waiting for the citzenship, but waiting for both for 1 more year makes me really nervous

So sad that my EDC is like 23 months, but I saw a lot of Dallas Office cases being approved in 5-6 months. Will hope for the best
