  1. Riz, I am soooooo happy for you! Congrats! Hopefully you wont have too long of a wait before your interview! Have you checked your embassy timeline to get a guestimate of the wait? Congrats again! I knew it wouldnt be much longer for you. What a wonderful Christmas present! Keep us updated about your interview date and good luck as always.

  2. Mike, first let me say congrats! Next you need to decide which visa you would rather pursue. The K-3 will bring your wife here faster "supposedly" depending on how fast the embassy works for you. The CR1 visa will take just a little longer as it will stay at the Visa center to go thru processing. The processing it will go thru will be all the processing that the K-3 will need once your wife is here. Alot of people choose to continue with the CR1 as it will give the greencard straight away, where the K-3 you will need to file AOS when your wife arrives. Looking at the embassy page (top of page under embassy info) for Hong Kong, they seem to be pretty straight forward and fairly quick as far as interviews go, but you might want to check the embassy forums to get others opinions. If you do choose the CR1 check out the National Visa Center forum and look at the timesavers thread that Aussiewench had started, it will give you short cuts etc. to save time on your NVC process. Good luck in your decision and on your journey.

  3. Riz, I know it can be frustrating at times to say the least. I also understand where your coming from as far as the K-1 vs. CR1 timeframes are concerned, just try to be patient and have faith that we will get thru this. I agree we shouldnt be kept apart from our spouses any longer and that the processing shouldnt be as long as it is while other visas are a faster route. But this is the route we chose and we will just have to wait it out. At the end of the day, we made our choice and now we have to accept it, and with help and support from each other on here we will manage to get thru this. Lets pray for each other and hope for the best. Hope you hear some good news and soon! Good luck and GOD bless.

  4. This is just too wierd...LOL. I cant really feel bad for his USC future wife for him taking advantage of her. I have no sympathy for a woman who makes babies and doesnt take care of them. Sorry just MO. The thing I dont understand he is all about how USA is so wonderful and being a USC I love my country, but given a choice, I would prefer to be in a country where my child will recieve the best education. USA is not noted for there educational system, Finland is however the best place for education. Hey wait a minute.......if your aunt is there, problem solved Mr. International. Move to Finland get your GED or equivalent and make loads of money. Then you can support yourself on more than just rice and daal. Oh and take your welfare case with you. As a tax paying citizen of this country I do believe that people have a right to use welfare, only and if they actualy need it and dont abuse it. Sorry, but welfare wasnt designed to pay for cable tv and internet. It is designed to help people who are having a financially tough time and need help taking care of their families ie; children, spouse etc. Since she has neither and is working 35 hours a week she should have no problem making ends meet. As far as your concerned, you make claims that you dont get paid for work that you do, yet you have all this money for laptops and flights to see your g/f. Now I am no genius but the cost of the flights with the cost of the laptop for lazy bones (really think your bragging but for your benefit I will indulge you) saved could have bought you a ticket to Finland to stay with your aunt.

Americas not perfect by no means, but she is a great country. But people like your deadbeat g/f and the likes of you are what make the "system" difficult for the rest of the actual hard workers and the people trying to make a better life for themselves by immigrating properly.

Check my post for all the spelling mistakes you want, I am sure there are plenty, but I wouldnt call someone out on spelling if I knew that it was a weak spot if I were you.

Normally I wouldnt get onto a post like this, other than to agree that I loved the Fax the Police bit. Just thought you might want to tuck a few nuggets of info away in your poor misguided head.

I have seen the posts about people saying that their petitions havent reached NVC yet, I'm just not sure why your asking or maybe I am confused about the question. Looking at your timeline it says your cae was completed on the 12th. Thats 20 days, just under 3 weeks for them to review and complete your case. Looking at some of the other posters, they have waited at or around 1 month, and some even longer. I would say that your case was completed faster than some of the ones I seen from Oct. and Nov. Thats a bit suprising as the holidays are coming, I would have thought this would be the time for them to slow down a little. I hope its a trend and I can follow suit. NVC recieved my final documents about 1 week after yours, with any luck I can be completed soon as well.

As far as the service centers being slow at sending petitions to the NVC, who knows their excuse. I'm not an expert or as knowledgable as some of the more seasoned posters, but in the past there have been delays like this. Long waits to get the petitions to NVC and then the flood breaks open and they pour in at NVC. It may have something to do with the changes that have been or are being made. It was like that when IMBRA first started. Lots of delays and recalled petitions and then WOOOSH. All we can really do is wait and pray for each other, especially those that seem to be stuck in limbo waiting to have theirs forwarded and/or on AR.

Hope yours gets to the embassy quickly and a speedy interview. Good luck!

No bother, just thought you might like to know your options. As I said, if other factors involved, scheduling etc, then its just something to tuck away for future reference. Good luck on Nadya's interview, keep us updated! I havent been posting much lately as time wont allow me, but I do come on and check updates to see how interviews are going and how processing is moving. I hope things go well for your friends. If it does go well at least they would have a heads up on what to expect from your and Nadya's case. Good luck again and have a safe trip.

  7. Congrats Mandy! Awwwwww, Sinead is just beautiful what a lovely pic! Congrats again I am sure your so proud! If you get a chance to post, I know how tired you must be with a wee one needing your attention, keep us updated with pics!

Hi Josh, congrats on the new car! I just bought one myself last friday. We opted for a Jeep Grand Cherokee, its not brand spanking new, but close enough. I like SUV's and Niall liked the Jeep. I like the roomy feel of it and we will travel to see his brother and sis-in-law, they are in New York. I have 1 child and hopefully (GOD willing) we will have more, so the bigger car works, and I am just not ready to be a mini-van mom! LOL. I know what you mean about the shorts getting the mail. The weather has been mad here lately. Cold one day and nice and warm the next. I hope that your enjoying Charlotte, as much as I can complain about NC, it does have some pretty good qualities as well. Good to hear things are going good with you and Denise. Stay safe on the roads and congrats again on your new car!

Colleen I was going to mention a few movie jobs for you to let Gavin know about, I didnt realize that he was in the business until recently. Very cool, anyways, I have a few websites for you to look at if he doesnt already know about them. Feel free to email or message me and I will get them onto you if he wants to continue acting.

Donal, I am so anxiously waiting to know your news. I have been busy speculating LOL! I hope I am right! Good to hear your doing well also, have a wonderful visit with your family and safe journey!

  8. If I knew that things were moving this fast I would have not been going at this time. Rather when she needs to do her interview.

    Scott,

First let me say Congrats!!!!! What a wonderful early Christmas prezzie! I am sure that spending Christmas with you SO would be ideal and can understand what you mean about prefering to have been there for the interview instead. If its only a matter of a pre pre-purchased airline ticket, you might want to ring them, some airlines will allow you to change the flight if you call in advance (usually 2 weeks prior to departure) for little or no fee. I had a situation with my passport a few years back and had to cancel my flight on the day I was to leave, they allowed me to reschedule for 2 weeks later and I only had to pay $100 for the change of flight. This fee was because my flight was connecting in London on the way to Ireland and the airline said that I would have to pay the fee for the international(London to Shannon) change. So if its only a matter of the flight it may be worth checking on, if there are other factors involved such as work scheduling, etc. then just save the bit of info for future reference. Good luck at the interview and congrats again!

  9. I am stunned by your news Summer. My heart and prayers go out to you and your family. I am sure your devastated, as anyone would be and you have every right to feel that way. I have to agree with another poster tho, take your moments to cry, be angry, hurt etc. Then FIGHT, fight with everything you have and never give up. I dont get the impression that your the type to take this lying down, as you have already started contacting lawyers, so go get them, you have all the encouragement and support here. Be strong for your children and family (my prayers are for your mother as well) they need you as much as you need them. As your faith in God has shown in your posts, talk to your minister, anything that you do to help your struggle will give you more strength to keep the journey moving. Always remeber that there are other people cheering you on and praying for you and Andy. Good luck and God bless!

  10. Hi everyone,

Had alot going on lately and havent been around too much. I hope everyone is doing well. Colleen, I am so happy for you and Gavin. I am sure your over the moon now that he is home. Congrats again! Has anyone heard any news on Mand and the baby?

Congrats on the Ead and new job Donal.....tho its really not new anymore...LOL.

  11. Hello all, I havent been on in a while, but its good to see so many new people here and everyone progressing nicely.

My husband and I delayed sending in our I-864 and DS-230 because my husband got a job in his country and we werent sure how long it would last and what it may have led to. We had actually thought about abandoning our petition all together and moving to Ireland. Anyways as it turns out we have decided to continue and have sent on our forms to NVC. Since then I have read a few posts where people were asked for more info on thier I-864's and I am just worrying that I may not have sent enough info. I rang NVC and the fella that I spoke with was extremely nice and even offered to go over the forms step by step. He then told me all the supporting documents to send along. So this is what I sent.

I-864 for myself, last years tax return, recent pay stubs (6 months worth, hope not too much) and signed release form for tax data.

I-864 for joint sponsor, last years tax return, recent pay stub (only found 1 hope its enough) and signed release form for tax data.

He told me there was no need to list assets since we wouldnt be using them to meet the required guidlines and that I didnt need to send bank statements since we werent listing assets. I didnt send a letter from my employer since it was asked for. Will this be enough info? Has anyone else sent the minimum and not had any problems? Also I was wondering if anyone new what kind of processing timeframe to expect with NVC from them recieving the I-864 and completing case and sending to embassy, provided there are no RFE's for missing documents. Any help is greatly appreciated and again I hope you are all doing well and good luck on your journey!

    Sherry

  12. Congrats!!!! You will need to ring the NVC at 603-334-0700. You will also need to speak with an operator , since K-3 petitions generally dont stay long at the NVC they dont logg them into the phone system. Have your reciept number and your spouses name, birth date, and your phone number ready to give to the operator. Congrats again!
