New Card arrived in the mail today! I have my 10yr green card in my hands at last! Now just waiting for this semester to be over to have time to file for N-400 before Christmas.

Yes my case status change once it was approved on 11/11, then yesterday changed to card being sent on the mail.

I-797 letter of approval arrived on the mail today, that was a surprise because I didn't know we will getting one. Now just waiting on my new card on the mail any time now.

I would imagine so, I am not of much help since I haven't been around in months. I even forgot my log in credentials for this forum!  I stopped checking my case status also a while ago, then I checked it yesterday to find out I was approved 4 days before and I had not idea. 5 days after approval they are sending me the card.  I hope what you are receiving is your card and not an RFE.  I recall receiving my 2yr card on a priority mail via USPS.

Today my case status check says that my card was sent on the mail on 11/16    I was approved on 11/11.

I finally received link to reset my password so I can post with my original profile. As I posted earlier, I got a nice surprise when I checked my case status and read that my new card went on production on 11/11. I am so happy that I don't have to live in limbo anymore. Next step is to apply for citizenship, if I find time to study for the exam while working full time and also going full time to college...and being a mom and a wife. This is my excuse to be completely MIA from this forum to the point of forgetting my password. Can someone please refresh my mind how to update my signature on approval date, also to update the table?  Thank you!

Today I had my infopass at 2:15pm. I started a new job this week and I hated to ask permission to leave early but they understood. The officer was way too nice, he didn't even ask for any form of ID or other documents. He took a look at my NOA, checked my case in the system with no clear answer what is going on, he stamped my passport and even encouraged me to apply for citizenship because it will force my stagnant case to be pull out from wherever it is and be adjudicated at the same time as naturalization.  I had such an ordeal to get to this office using GPS navigation and traffic from hell did its part. My appointment was at 2:15pm and I was still looking for a place to park at 2:16. I ended up parking so far away that I run for my life to the other side of the building. Once I got the security, the lady just laughed saying "I saw you running from the other side of the building, you made it!"  even the police officer waiting for me to go through metal detector was very friendly telling me that I will be fine, there is plenty of time. I barely sat few minutes to grasp some air when I was called in. The officer, after stamping my passport was giving me tips where I could apply for work once I become a US citizen, that is because he asked me what major I was going to college for and I told him "Accounting", he said IRS is always hiring accountants and he gave an a unexpected array of tips on how to apply and how to prepare my resume for that kind of job, even at USCIS!!!!

I finally got my Mexican passport after a failed attempt two years ago when I started the process of adjusting status. They argued that I could not use my married name (my us citizen spouse's last name) because that would be different from my Mexican birth certificate, schools documents, voting ID, etc. So I had to present an expired passport in my package and AOS interview thankfully with no problem.  Now that my extension letter is coming to its expiration date next month, I gave it another try but this time with my maiden named and I had no problems even when I answered I am married.

Now I have a freshly issued passport to present to my INFOpass a week from today to get my stamp. I am currently a college student and I am also about to start a new full time job with awesome benefits and I will bring the job offer letter to make sure I won't be denied the stamp.

Congratulations! 13 months shy later you reached another big milestone. Have you applied for Naturalization yet?

After reading instructions of I-9, employer cannot ask for specif documents to verify employment eligibility. The prospect employee can present documents either from List A, or documents from list B AND C but not only B or only C. Documents in list B and C include but not limit to a valid Driver's License and Social Security Card.  In case of doubt, take the time to read the instructions to correct me if I am wrong.

She wasn't able to say why the system didnt update it, but I guess it just happens. She was however able to verify that no communications were sent to me since the NOA/Biometrics notices,  so nothing was missed.

    Obviously, I had to ask about the timelines and how much longer will this process take...she said that she can't give any estimates or specifics...but that the June 9 date for CSC is no longer accurate. I asked if it means they are past that date, and she said, "It's possible". She sounded super nice and cheerful...haha... I know it's not much, but gave me some hope :-)

 

Moral of the story: do verify what address they have on file...

I was told that same date yesterday when I called and the lady was also very friendly, so this means that hopefully they are a little more ahead than June 9

Employers CANNOT specify which document(s) an employee may present to establish employment authorization and identity. The refusal to hire or continue to employ an individual because the documentation presented has a future expiration date may also constitute illegal discrimination.

I recall when I submit all the information during the process of being hired by a staffing agency, part of the questionnaire was if I was a LPR and also provide proof of it. They requested a copy of my green card, once the expiration time of my conditional card approached, they requested a copy of the NOA I-797 confirm my ongoing ROC process which will allow me to work with them for another year and so I did. Now I am in the process to be interviewed for another job, my NOA has date 08/02/16 and my GC expiration date was 08/20/2016.  Any suggestions on how to proceed with possible new employer?  should I mention my situation and the immediate process I have to go through as far as getting my Mexican passport next week and the following week going to my infopass appointment to get the extra year extension stamp?  I have my SSC with no restrictions and valid Driver's license.

More good news! I was able to schedule appointment at Mexican consulate next week to renew my passport. I was blown away how fast I was able to schedule this appointment even chose the date and time   Also like every morning, today I checked for infopass appointment online and BINGO! there was one day available with times to choose from 7:15am to 2:15pm, I immediately chose my time and got the confirmation appointment letter to print.  One week from today I will be getting my passport and two weeks later my infopass appointment to get my extra year extension stamp. Just in time to get ready for Fall semester and to prepare for a job interview in few more days

I need to schedule an infopass and I can't seem to find the right key when I dial 1-800-375-5283.  I called to inquire about my case and the information was given by the system and not by a person, same information that appears online.  Thank you

Hello everyone!  This waiting and waiting is daunting as we know.  My I-797 receipt date is 8/02/16 and my 2yr GC expired on 08/20/16.  Am I covered until which date?  I am a full time college student paying Resident tuition and I am freaking out about my extension letter expiration before Fall semester begins on 08/21/17.  I have been trying to schedule an infopass appointment online for the last couple of week unsuccessfully.

Is there any specific number where I can call and schedule an infopass appointment?  I tried 1-800-375-5283 several times using the different options but I can't figure out how to dial the right one.

Also, this week I am putting together my documentation to apply for naturalization.

Biometrics done yesterday as scheduled. It went extremely fast, same facility but I noticed few changes, no security passing purse, wallets, etc through X rays machine (like at the airport) and the layout of areas where fingerprints and photos are taken also changed. Everyone was friendly and it was done in about 15 mins. Now crossing fingers that the next step won't take forever.

I just called USCIS and I chose to talk to someone in Spanish (not that it matters) and the guy who took my information was very nice and explained me that the biometrics letter appointment is normally issued no later than 30 days after application of I-751 and that I should have gotten mine any time after Sep 02. He opened a service request and gave me a reference number which will identify my case if I have to call again. He told me to wait 15 days up to 30 to receive any type of communication from USCIS in regards of my case, but I can call again as early as 15 days from now to check what is going on. I try to not get stressed out or nervous, specially when I see that no one who sent package to California in this forum, hasn't received the letter either. Not a consolation because we all should be on track like everyone else.

I have been reading all the posts since I received notification to my email, but I am not really active because I am swamped with school.

I'll give an update as soon as I get any news in my case.

On Sept 20 I called USCIS and a service request was opened for my case, today I finally saw that glorious envelope with those blue letters "U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services". My biometrics appointment is set for 11/10/2016 and the letter is dated 9/24/2016, four days after my call.

I think everyone who sent package to CSC will be getting their biometric letters within days now.

Checking mailbox every day waiting for biometrics appointment and find nothing it's getting me frustrating. What else can one do? just wait ​

Did anyone else not file tax transcripts with their package? I was unable to log back into my account where I requested transcripts two years ago, the system didn't let me set up a new account, the snail mail transcripts never got to us (we had moved during this time) and I couldn't reach anyone by phone. So I just sent our return and W2s and decided that I'll visit a IRS physical office to get the transcripts if USCIS sends us a RFE. Still a little nervous though, especially since we only have 2015, as we had no income in 2014 and I didn't think you could file a return if you didn't have income. Fortunately our other evidence is solid.

We did not sent tax transcripts this time nor we did send tax transcripts for AOS. We sent the federal income tax returns forms -the whole set- when we applied for AOS and I did again for RoC. We sent income tax returns for 2014 and 2015. We didn't get any RFE during AOS. I sent everything it was requested for RoC and now waiting for Biometrics letter.

Hi everyone.

So my ROC is coming soon, around 3 months from now. I've had issues with my wife and we tried to fix them while the divorce option was on the table, however few weeks ago I had to travel back to my country because my father's health is going worse and I needed to be there for many reasons. My question is I dont know if we are heading to a divorce and when if so, and i dont want to file for divorce just for the sake of using the divorce waiver (I have a lot of good faith evidence) As well as I dont want to end the marriage and lose my wife. If i go back to the US for couple of weeks can my wife and I file for ROC joint if we are separated (not legally separated)? knowing that I might have to return to my country untill I finish what I need to finish over there (such as legal matters about the family business and properties,etc). Both my wife and I dont know if we are heading to a divorce ans we are working on things, but as I said ROC is ahead of us. My legal address is still our marital home and I am receiving mail there, nothing changed. What do you suggest?

I am sorry to hear about things being unsure in your marriage. We have had difficult times as every other legit a couple as well but we manage to work things out. We both work really hard to have good life and currently making a lot of sacrifices to accomplish the goals we set when we decided to become a family (I have a child from previous marriage and we also adopted two kitties). I get on his nerves and he gets on mine, but there is always a "we" nonetheless when we talk about the future. I hope things unfold in a way that brings the greatest good for you two.
