Hi, I brought my stepdaughter from the Dominican Republic early on September. We had all of the necessary documents regarding legal guardianship of her at the time of interview, but they didn't even bother to ask for it. But when they were leaving the country, IT WAS A REALLY BIG DEAL.. Make sure to have those court papers because the Dominican authorities are the ones that really need to see them.

HUGE MISTAKE! Getting a supervisor to review your documents ii is the biggest waste of time at NVC. TRUST ME, I am talking from experience (check my timeline). They really don't do anything for you, and on top of all, you just added an extra 45 days to your waiting period! Let's hope that you are a lucky one..

Thank you guys.... i would rather get a colonoscopy than to call the NVC to inquire about anything, lol. I despise that place.

Hello VJ friends, it has been a while since I've been on this site. Anyways, after 7 checklists, yes, 7 checklists, from NVC in regards the Affidavit of Support, and going 3 times to my local congressman's office (which by the way, didn't help anything) I took it upon on myself to put on the boxing gloves and deal with NVC. I spent 4 hours and finally got through, and talk to one of the many LAZY BUMS that work at NVC. I have called several times before and tried to talk to a supervisor, but there was never "one available at this time" for my luck. Anyways, this particular time I called, and I said that I was recording them for legal purposes (I WAS BLUFFING, LOL) and that I just needed them to know. I proceeded, and I explained the girl on the phone the reason why I was calling for, and since she couldn't help me, I demanded to talk to a supervisor. She put a SUPERVISOR ON!!! I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT, BUT THERE I WAS, talking to a supervisor about my problem. That same day in the afternoon, I got a message that says, "ALL DOCUMENTATION NESSESARY TO COMPLETE THE NATIONAL VISA CENTER'S PROCESSING OF YOUR CASE HAS BEEN RECEIVED" I SHOULD HAVE DONE THIS 8 MONTHS AGO! So people, now you know The national visa center, doesn't want the media to know how nasty they are to people, so the minute they know that they are being recorded, they want to help you. BTW, that was last week.... Good luck to you all..

I am so glad that I came across this post. Thank you for replying to my question before. I am THE QUEEN OF CHECKLISTS from NVC. I have been submmitting my AOS since August, 2014. I have gotten FOUR checklists since then for documents that I HAVE ALREADY SUBMMITED many times with proof from the post office, and whenever I contact them, their claim is that they never received them. IT IS ABSOLUTELY FRUSTRATING because I feel like I complete IDIOT! THEY ARE MISERABLE PEOPLE WITH SUPERIORITY COMPLEX. Thank you so much for this information because is very helpful.

Thank you, but that us my frustration with NVC. I have enclosed that letter explaining my unemployment THREE TIMES already because that is how many times I have sent back documents. The first checklist was on my joint sponsor missing part X number X... The second was missing joint sponsor AOS. How can they claim that they don't have it when it was sent via certified mail, and I gave the proof that it was signed and received by them. Anyways, I sent EVERYTHING AGAIN, including my AOS. Now, I get the checklist because my 2013 taxes are missing! Can you see why I am about to burst? After calling them twice this morning, I got the same answer that I always get "no supervisors available at this time". Also, the other classic one "WE REVIEW THE DOCUMENTS AND WE ASK FOR THE ONES THAT ARE INCOMPLETE OR MISSING"... Ay, ay, ay.....

My cases have been at NVC since early March! Just today I figure out why people that work at NVC are so miserable... If you look up working at NVC, a big mayory of the employees consider it a miserable place to work.. Bad vibe all over!

This is really confusing.. I am Dominican and DO NOT TRUST ANY GOVERNMENT OFFICE IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, even those ones that are not run by Dominicans. They learn to play the game.

After reading this I can't help but think if this whole "system crashed" by homeland security was nothing but a scam to make people pay more money. I am furious at the moment. I wonder if they will give money back to people that $420.00 for filing I-130 petitions ?.
