Twentyten2010 got a reaction from Milmauka in Where's your hometown?
Asawa ko is from Davao City Mindanao, and I am from Houston, Texas USA. It's cool to see all the different mixtures of couples in this thread. Even if it's an old thread. 😉😉😉

We were flooded into our home for almost a week, but no damage or loss. We were one of the lucky ones. Hope everyone made it okay with our hurricane....and now I hope the people of Florida stay safe with the one coming their way.

I think they will have 20% discount for those people who lived in area/s affected by yolanda(super typhoon) and the earthquake something like that..
St. Lukes Medical Center Extension Clinic- MANILA will be closed on June 24, 2014, Tuesday, in commemmoration of Manila Day.
Normal clinic operations resume Wednesday, June 25, 2014.
St. Luke's Medical Center Extension Clinic - Global City is not included in this announcement, and will be open for Canada, Australia, and New Zealand visa applicants.
St. Lukes Medical Center, Inc. joins the governments efforts in helping the victims of the recent typhoon Yolanda that hit the Visayas region particularly Eastern Samar and Leyte and the earthquake that jolted Bohol and Cebu earlier.
St. Lukes Medical Center Extension Clinic (Manila & Global City) will be offering 20% discount on medical fees of U.S., Australia, Canada and New Zealand immigrant visa applicants as our humble way of showing support to our countrymen coming from these directly affected areas.

One might think that USCIS/State Department and the Embassy would be a little more proactive in how they're handling this situation. The huge influx of petitions/expedites has completely overwhelmed the system/process thereby negatively imacting everyone! Expedited petitions are only as good as the ability to get an appointment once the petition has been approved. There must be hundreds, if not thousands, of Typhoon Yolanda expedited "beneficiaries" trying to get an appointment - along with the several hundred K1, K3, and other visa types - each and every month - ALL competing for the same slots.
Many have complained about how difficult it is - quite understandably. My wife and I are also frustrated. I think that "patience" is at it's wits end for just about everyone who's been trying to get an appointment. What it takes to get an appointment is astoundingly ridiculous!
Perhaps it would help if everyone wrote to the State Department in the US, with their ideas of how to remedy this situation. My thought is that there should be a unit set up in the Visayas that can handle expedites locally - more efficiently and expeditiously. That the USCIS/State Department release more visas to the Philippines to accommodate the huge influx. That the Yolanda expedites have a separate process in order to truly expedite their cases in an efficient manner. All of which would relieve the tremendous impact on the US Embassy in Manila. Manila should also set up a separate unit to deal with the Yolanda expedites. Yes, it means additional personnel, office space, equipment, and other resources, etc. Where there is a will, there is a way.
Does anyone else have any suggestions?
While writing to your Congressman/Senator is useful, you will get the same reply from most of them..."it's a tough situation." This situation demands more direct contact with the Agency(ies) that oversee Embassy operations. The Embassies take direction from the State Department. Not from within.
Make your voice heard. At this rate, the situation will only get worse, long before it gets better.

Be positive-I know it's difficult. I started May 18 doing the refreshing game and finally got a cancellation date May 30. It's much like fishing. I got a nibble one day (saw a date that was too soon--only two days later) so I threw that fish back. Hooked the big one on May 30 for June 19 interview date. When you're fishing, you just mindlessly enjoy the world, rather than curse at it. Stay diligent--you will get there.

Yes and No. If a date is available then it will show up as long as it is still available and will stay there until all the slots are filled. With that being said if someone cancels a appointment it will show up but that means there is only 1 slot open for that date and you might see it but your not the only one who sees it. You might click on continue like your going to grab that date but then on the next page it tells you that there is no more appointments to schedule and what happen was that someone beat you to the punch and got to it first. Then if you refresh your screen that date will not show up on your dashboard anymore. This has happen to me before.

I have composed a letter to the embassy, I know iam at their mercy, I have explained everything and let them know it was my poor judgement and not a matter of my fiancée lieing, since they have not outright denied her yet, should I wait for a denial, or send my letter before a denial occurs? thank you

Thanks. You know I never got locked out at all and I looked every 30 minutes. I just logged on and if I didn't see a date on the dashboard then I just logged off. I figured the july dates would come out about June 1st but is phil date so I started 8pm est. on May 31st. Keep on checking which im sure you will but pace yourself so you don't loose out on dates cause you locked yourself out for the day. I will keep you guys posted for sure. I just filled out the online CFO pre-registration but now it wont let me try to schedule a appt. cause it says the CAPTCHA code im entering is wrong and I know its right and made sure everything is exact including case sensitive letters. It still says its wrong code. You would think this would be one of the easy parts but cant get past this to setup up a CFO appt in Manila for my fiancée. Can anyone help with this one? Hopefully Hank will see this

Twentyten2010 reacted to Firebug in April 2014 TSC Filers
It's a government operation . Nothing else really needs to be said and knowing this I am not the least bit surprised by the complete ineptitude and disorganization of this agency or any other government agency, at the very least be thankful you are not in need of medical care provided by the VA.
A positive thought, every day that passes is one day closer to being together and that is what matters most.
