I went on the trip to US for Christmas holidays for three and a half weeks.
Didn't have any problems at POE (Chicago) but I had problems in EU at the airport.
I have two passports, one in which is my B1/B2 visa and new passport for traveling, with my new last name. I didn't have my marriage certificate with me and it seems that was the problem cause they couldn't confirm I'm the same person in both passports.
Anyways, they've asked the CBC chief of security what to do, he talked with me for a few minutes and allow me to board.
At that time we haven't filed for CR1 yet.
So bring your papers (marriage certificate) with you when you traveling. I hope this helps

As a fellow USC'er living abroad with the hubby and *only* using assets for the AOS I can tell you what we did (and it looks like you have enough especially having a driver's license, bank account and the schooling). We have a bank account in the US and two major credit cards that are constantly showing transactions (as all those birthdays in the US!). That seemed to be enough. We are using my mother's address as we do not have a house in the US as of yet and that is just our 'principal' address' - when we get there we will be put up in temporary housing by my husbands employer.
We had no issues with the domicile with that information and if you are relying on any part of your AOS in assets alone you will receive a warning 'checklist' after your 60 days (or after they review your case) -- don't freak out about it, it's merely a statement that says NVC isn't the one to look at assets and determine if it's good enough, that's up to your consular official. You need to make sure it's enough and that you have assets that can be converted to cash within 1 year (without putting strain on the family). Our interview went fine as we had cash that was over the poverty line so nothing else was asked.

Oh dear, everytime I see your case on here I cringe. I'm so sorry that you've been put in this lengthy process! Praying my little heart out for you dear!
I know folks have resolved this question for you, but just to shed some light - anytime a NVC rep makes comment on your account (and they make comments every time you call, get a case complete or any other form of movement with your case) that could possibly trigger a mail. Not all comments on your account trigger movements (if you just call in and they say wait and you hang up...that will probably not trigger anything).

Sending a copy of your US Passport to establish your US Citizenship when you file your petition is sufficient; period, full-stop.

Frips how do NVC review the DS-261 by phone? I called and the only question he asked was: Who is the agent on the form? and I said my self. And he asked my DOB, and I told him. and he said that is it: And that the IV Bill will be generated in 7 days. Is that right????

Now while waiting for these 60 days to be over I have to much time for to much reading and "thinking"

There is a little info from people about this here....we are using our assets so sure.... we are a little bit worried how COs see this...and especially about domicile stuff.. Guys what do you think...: driving license,maintaining bank account, transferred money to us account, have sold real estate in EU, and my USC wife's kid going to school in US from last year? Ehm.....huh huh

Indeed hope the rest of your journey is smooth, someone has to have good luck. There was one person who went through the whole process in less than three months total but they he/she was such a snot. Thank you for the crossed fingers and the good luck we all need it.

They wont change it, it's to their benefit to stall us at ever step and if they could they would just toss our petitions in the trash.

It would make much more sense to move NVC to California some state warm with no tornadoes or huricanes hahahaaa we will just have to live with Earth Quakes. But then of course it would make sense so this will never happen.

....i na kraju....ne cekajte da se NVC javi vama nego 2-3 sedmicno VI zovitr NVC. Neke stvari se nekad mogu malo "pogurati"

FINALLY! I got a cc!!! I got through after about 5 tries and held for 30 something minutes. I spoke to Ivy, she was a nice rep. She congratulated me and wished me good luck.
She said interviews for February are full but March interview scheduling will begin in two weeks, so call back mid February. Hopefully I will have an interview for late March.

Scan date was 11/26 for AOS checklist.

No...DS260 is locked till IV fee is not paid.

Remember, just be polite:) ask if they already have your Ds261 in the system and when you will be able to pay IV fee....
With nice rep..you might be lucky:)
