For the 3 of you still waiting to interview, here’s how ours went today. Johan has a pending I751, so our interviewer began with that. We brought the box of ALL the papers we’ve ever filed, plus the papers we put together as updated documentation since filing in May 2017.  She only really asked to see tax records for 3 years and joint accounts proof (we had em). I actually bombarded her with stuff she didn’t ask for. 😂  She said she believed we have a legit relationship, she just had to do one more background check through some database, and then it’ll be approved. 
 
Then onto the N400.  She asked my husband if he wanted me to stay. He said yes please. (He was nervous). She started going through his application online, and he asked her if he could do the questions first to get them out of the way. She complied. His questions were:
 
name one war fought in the 1800’s
who was president during the depression and WW2?
name one state that borders Mexico
Who is the father of our country?
who is our state’s current governor?
who is the Vice President? 
 
Interestingly, he said War of 1812, and she was sorta caught off guard by this. She said something along the lines of, “also known as...?”  We were like, “huh?”  Then he said “the Civil war?” And that’s what she put in the system. 😂😂😂  I guess civil war is most answered. 🤷‍♀️
 
Because his green card had been pending for 27 months (!!!), he had to fill out paperwork to take to the oath ceremony.  She acted like it’s a done deal; “next oath ceremony is August 22nd,” etc, but it’s still pending approval based on the I751! Grrrrr  She said the system *should* be updated by tomorrow. We shall see.   So one of 2 things will happen: he’ll take his oath next month or we start making plans to relocate back to Ireland. 😂😂😂.

Congratulations!  Johan's interview for his N-400 is on Saturday, July 27th.  There's zero mention of it being a combo interview, but we're preparing for it to be both anyway.  

I just had my i751 interview. The wait is finally over I was approved on the spot.  Does anyone know how long it generally takes to get the green card in the mail? Thank you.

It’s July 27th! Unexpected on a Saturday, but I’m thrilled!! It’s  the day before our 5th wedding anniversary. 🎉

Today I had my oath ceremony. I am finally a US citizen.

Got a text while sleeping that Johan’s interview has been scheduled! Can’t wsit to see when. One year and one day after filing. Woooot!! 

YAYYY!! Johan must be so relieved now! The interview letter appeared in my online account a day after the text notification.

I had my interview in Baltimore on 6/11 and everything went smoothly. I reached an hour early because of light traffic so after the security check, I had to wait for 30 minutes before I could check-in and get a token number. As mentioned in the interview letter they only want people to show-up 30 minutes prior to their interview time.
After 50 minutes or so, an officer called my name and escorted me to her office. My officer was polite and respectful. She kept the conversation very formal and to the point.
As expected, she verified my information and ran through all the yes/no questions. After that she took the civic test. Their system randomly selects 6 questions each time so you need to know all the answers anyways. My reading test was “George Washington was the first president.” and I was asked to write “Who was the first president of US”.
While reviewing my case, she asked for my marriage certificate, she also noticed that I had traveled outside the country after filing the application but she didn’t care as the trip was only 2 weeks long. She did ask me why I filed two I-140s (I ported from EB3 to EB2) and that was it. Overall the interview process was very straight forward and because of this forum, I knew exactly what to expect.
After approving my application, my officer chatted with me for couple of minutes and escorted me to the main waiting area.
 
The oath ceremony letter was uploaded online on 6/14. My oath is scheduled for June 25th and hopefully that will be the end of my immigration journey.

I went to my interview today. Everything was great! I’ve been approved and I’m just waiting on my oath information. Does anyone know how long it takes for that to be updated to your account?  These are the questions I was asked:
 
1. Name one war fought in the 1800s. 
2. Name one war fought in the 1900s. 
3. What did Susan B. Anthony do?
4. Who is the governor of Texas?
5. If the President can no longer serve, who becomes President? 
6. Who is the “Father of our country”?
 
These I don’t remember too well, but something of this nature:
reading: What state has the largest population?
writing: California has the largest number. 

My Oath has been scheduled for 06/25/19. Yaaaaaay!!!

But great news I had my citizenship interview May 21, 2019 and I passed 😁!!!!! Now tomorrow is my Oath Ceremony!!!! Super excited!!! I can not believe this journey is coming to an end! And is a happy ending!  Wish the best for all of you that are still waiting.  Don't lose hope your time will come sooner than later
