  1. You will be fine. They will not deny your entry, don't worry.

I am already thinking about tickets though too and have been researching buying a ticket with a return flight even though she is not planning on returning. So just canceling it few days before the flight back. For me the return flight option is about $1000 cheaper than one way What i have found people on this forum say is just to buy whatever is cheapest. If it is cheapest to buy a one way do that if it is cheaper to buy a two way return ticket than get that and cancel the return flight. I hear about people not being let on a plane because they had no return flight but once they involved a supervisor they got it cleared up in the airport.

  2. Thanks for your input. How did you know when the embassy received your case? Was it through checking the site, calling reps at the call center or the letter the embassy sends? Ukrainian mail takes awhile, I doubt it was waiting for some letter. We can see today that the open interview dates are 7 days from yesterday, so we should be okay provided they receive our case in the next 10 days or so.

    thanks

We are in the same boat as you. Waiting for consulate to receive the case.

  3. I was using DHL tracking, and it showed when the case physically was at the Consulate. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/302190-dhl-tracking-from-nvc-to-us-embassy/page-101

And as already ppl said, if its says ready, you can do appointment.

    Good luck!

I did that too. NVC status went to In transit on the 3rd so i typed in EXP 03 NOV 2014A and it shows that that packed was delivered to the embassy on the 6th, our status went to Ready on the 5th which i think kind of makes sense because of the time difference. Like i said above we already scheduled a medical and an interview but my fiance called earlier this week and they said no case yet. So a bit worried...

    Thank you for your reply!

  4. If it says ready, it got there. There's no need to call or email them, just schedule the interview. I've never heard of anybody not being able to interview if they scheduled after it said ready.

So as was suggested by you and many people we did schedule an interview for the 25th. Our case Went from In Transit to Ready in about 3 days, it went to ready on the 5th of this month. We waited a few days than scheduled a medical, filled out DS-160 and scheduled an interview. Now earlier this week my fiance called the embassy and they are saying no case yet so that is why we are very confused at the moment.

  5. No worries, thank you. I called the ustraveldocs site customer service, and they said the file hasn't arrived to the Consulate as of yesterday, but will try again soon. The agent said she sent up a profile for my fiancee, but it didn't work when she tried to log in later. Hopefully it won't be long before they receive it.

Would you please share what number it is that you called to find out if your case is at the consulate yet?

Is this a number to the consulate in Kyiv? I need to call as well to find out if it has arrived but i am not sure how to do that from the US

    Thank you!

  6. Still nothing, but trying to stay positive. Today is 6 business days. Do you think they send these in batches like USCIS does? That would explain the delay. It doesn't seem like Kiev handles many K-1 petitions and some here report only a few days between NVC sending and Consulate receiving. The flow chart on here suggests calling the Consulate after 5-7 business days to see if they received it. I'm not sure why it would take longer using DHL. Is there any way to check on its progress, tracking, etc?

    Thanks.

Our case went into "Transit" step on the 3rd and my fiance called the embassy today, still nothing even though now the case status is "Ready" so i am a bit confused about this step but it is what it is, we are waiting. We did schedule a medical for next week though and i received a letter from NVC on Monday just stating our case number and that it was shipped out to the embassy. Not sure about tracking.

  7. Technically that could pass but where is the essence of marrying her within 90 days? My examples of getting her a ring and proposing is just many ways of showing sincerity, doesn't have to be fancy or whatever, those are just examples and could use as proof of bonafide relationship (lots of ways actually). Engagement ring is not necessary but the INTENTION of marrying her is what is this all about, unless if the objective is just to approve the petition and pass the k1-visa that will do.

People are tend to focus on "approval" getting visa or something like that and tend to forget the meaning of it.

I understand that ethical part and you might be right there but we are talking about whats on paper in black and white. USCIS wants to see that you seen each other, nowhere in their rules it says show us proof of you ring, that's all i mean. If you do research on this site most people will say that the ring is not an evidence.

  8. I'm preparing for all the necessary documents to bring to upcoming interview. The I-134 requires a statement from an officer of the bank or other financial institutions with deposits, identifying the following details regarding the account 1. Date account opened, 2. Total amount deposited for past year, 3) Present balance. Bank of America refuses to provide this to me. They say that they are not allowed by policy to issue statements and or disclose deposit amounts regarding accounts. I am well over the poverty line requirements and was informed that I do not need this information in this case. What I did was print out every monthly statement for the past 12 months for savings and checking account. The statement shows deposits and balance for each month. I dont know if this will be a problem or if the embassy will review and except these statements I printed from my account. Has anyone had the same experience with there banking institution and how did it workout at the interview?

Print your own statement online if you are worried about it and that's better than nothing. It really is not a good bank, my dad has them for his business but as it was said above if you are over the poverty line you most likely will not need that information.

  9. thank god case approved .. ..........what next ????

Congradulations!!! That is a BIG step done.

Next you have to wait for NVC to receive your case. You have to call them in about 2 weeks and start asking for your case number. Our petition got to NVC in 17 days after NOA2. Start calling around that time and call every other day or so until they can give you the case number. Once you have the case number you can track the status of your case online.

  10. Our NOA2 was 10/27 and NVC received our file 11/6....got our case number last night and said it should leave for embassy on 11/10! We are working on DS160 and gonna schedule medical on Monday as well! Good luck!

We filled out our DS-160 too couple days ago and hopefully will be scheduling the interview tomorrow. Medical is already scheduled.

Thank you! Good luck to you as well!

Thank you to everyone else too!

  11. Hahaha!!! I always used to stay up super late in Europe to talk to my husband ( then boyfriend ) so I can totally see you checking you status at 4am I would be doing to same if it was me :) and congrats on NOA2 every step is exciting!

It's working perfectly for me since I wrote this post. Keep trying it will work for you too :)

Thank you! I wish you good luck on your current case

  12. We got out NOA2 before the website went down but yeah, I did the same thing. I checked our case status maybe 5 times a day.

When our case went to approved somehow weirdly my fiance and i checked the status within minutes of each other. It was 4 AM here and afternoon in Europe. She texted me to check the status at the same time as i called her. That was interesting. And oh yeah you heard me right, i checked the status at 4 AM. lol

  13. Hi,

Our case got to NVC on October the 31st. The status went from "At NVC" to "In Transit" on November 3rd and on November 5th it went to "Ready" We now filled out the DS-160 and are waiting for Monday to schedule the interview.

Would you please share your timeline from the time of your case going from "At NVC" to "READY" Ours was fast and i did not expect that they would mail the documents to the embassy so fast.

    Thank you!

  14. What didi u mean by the date of nao2 the hard copy or the case status online? My case status say appeoved in 22th ictober but i dont recieve hardcopy till now

I mean case status online. I dont even know the date that i recieved the paper NOA2. Thats not important becuse it depends on how far away you live from your service center. I would think thats normal, mine took a while too

  15. It is confusing. We got the same message yesterday and our case is in transit too. Since when NVC schedules K1 visa interview? If NVC doesn't , why would they put such message on the website?

Our case is on the way to Riga, Latvia. On the embassy website, it says we have to pay visa fee and make our own visa appointment...I suppose we should follow embassy's instructions?

Absolutely, do follow the embassy instructions. I think NVC just puts out a general message for all cases not caring about it confusing many people.

In Kiev, Ukraine we have to schedule our own interview too. Which i knew by what the instructions say and from people who went thru it from this site and others that my fiance is signed up to but still that message threw me off.
