Application Withdrawal before Second N400 Interview
Dashinka replied to WTE's topic in US Citizenship General Discussion
Sorry to hear what you are going through, I hope you keep yourself safe. Yes, I would withdraw the application and then re-apply under the 5 year rule. You can do that by sending a written withdrawal request to the address on the interview NOA, or you can request a withdrawal at the interview when the IO calls you back. Personally, it is it not too much of an inconvenience to go to the interview, I would do it then as the IO should give you a receipt notice then. Good Luck! -
Insurance companies starting to catch up? Insurance Costs Could Cripple European Electric Car Sales The British media is awash with horror stories about the latest insurance premiums. One Tesla Model Y owner was shocked to be asked to pay £5,000 ($6,000) for annual insurance, up from £1,000 ($1,200) the previous year. Some insurers are getting nervous about the possible scale of liabilities. John Lewis Financial Services has paused insuring electric vehicles while its underwriter analyses risks and costs. The cost of replacing batteries is causing insurance companies much angst. Batteries are usually mounted underneath the passenger compartment and cover a huge area. This makes them more vulnerable to damage, and their sensitivity adds to the problem. What would be a minor shunt for an internal combustion engine (ICE) powered vehicle can be catastrophic for an electric one. https://www.forbes.com/sites/neilwinton/2023/10/10/insurance-costs-could-cripple-european-electric-car-sales/?sh=406959aaae68

Proof of relationship - digital ?

The I129F is still filed by paper, so anything you include in that submission must be printed out. Good Luck! -
Tesla uses drain valves in their battery pack enclosures to allow for coolant to drain out if there is an internal leak. What is interesting is these valves use a cardboard/paper type material that will expand when wet and open the valves allowing the draining, and after the material dries the valves should close. The issue is, and most likely what happened here is enough external water/splash exposed this expanding cardboard paper and the valves cracked open and allowed the water in the pack from the outside. To me this is clearly a Tesla design issue, but they don't seem to agree. Tesla Owner Reports Shocking $21,000 Bill For Battery Damaged By Rain As covered by Edinburgh Live, the couple had driven the vehicle during recent torrential rains in the Scottish capital. Having driven the Model 3 to a restaurant for dinner, the car would not run when the couple went to drive home. The car was picked up after a five-hour wait for roadside assistance, and taken to Tesla Edinburgh for repair. After a few days, the couple was contacted and advised that the battery was damaged due to water ingress. That came with an astonishing bill of £17,374 ($21,166 USD) that would not be covered under the car's eight-year warranty. The car's owners, Johnny Bacigalupo and Rob Hussey, told Edinburgh Live that they were shocked by the figure, and pressed Tesla as to how the problem occurred. Bacigalupo says they were told that the battery had effectively been submerged in water. https://www.thedrive.com/news/scottish-couple-left-with-huge-bill-for-replacement-tesla-battery

Passport Name Different than AP
Dashinka replied to slavaskii's topic in Working & Traveling During US Immigration
You are spot-on with your numbered bullet points. The only thing I would add is make a couple of copies of the documents in case an airline employee wants to keep them. You can also keep the link for the carrier guide CBP publishes (below), the relevant page is 10. https://www.cbp.gov/sites/default/files/assets/documents/2019-Mar/2019 Carrier Information Guide - ENGLISH.pdf To my knowledge, you will be fine with an expired passport relative to the naturalization process. Good Luck! -
To me it seems these Leftist types crying that Israel is an "apartheid state" are the same ones also promoting segregated "safe spaces", restrictions on free political speech, and an expansion of the federal bureaucracy. This is why I am all for exposing these collegiate types that are pro Hamas, and pro terrorism. These names must be known as they will drive divisions as they move into the workplace.

Who is their alternative? Some Neocon establishment far right type? Mike Pence who was duped by the FBI, and is a religious nut? I could see DeSantis, but I expect a lot of these "Dump Trump" types would hate him as well. Also, there is no GOP candidate for President that will get a fair shake by the MSM regardless of how moderate they are as the MSM needs to prop up the joke of a candidate the Democrats nominate (did you see Scott Pelley interview himself with Old Corrupt Petulant Joe Biden sitting nearby). What amazes me is the inside the beltway Republicans, who really just want to be the Washington Generals of leadership, saw Donald Trump bring in a lot of working class types, and minorities to the GOP, and yet they want to go back to be the "also rans" of DC. It seems the GOP has become the Big Top Party with a lot of differing opinions unlike the racist Democrats that are in lock step in their progressive movement (yes this is how it is spelled) toward totalitarianism, but the GOP leadership does not like it. Regardless, I know, Slow Steady and Corrupt is good as the world blows up as Biden fiddles.

Taking interview in an anti LGBTQ country
Dashinka replied to mogox15161's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
Consulate where you will be interviewing is actually US soil. The CO's are required to follow US immigration law relative visa interviews, and are more than likely well aware of the issues surrounding LGBT folks/couples in some countries. Good Luck! -
This was absolutely a great piece and left me . A bunch of "progressives" afflicted with major TDS apparently needed a safe space and the New Republic provided it. I wonder if they gave each other awards. What I Learned at the 'Stop Trump Summit' Rep. Jamie Raskin (D., Md.). (The guy who led the second impeachment of former president Donald Trump.) George Conway. (Anti-Trump tweeter and ex-husband of Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway.) Miles Taylor. (Remember that low-level Trump aide and future cable news star who published the "anonymous" op-ed in the New York Times that everyone assumed was written by some senior cabinet official? That guy.) Tony Schwartz. (Trump's ghostwriter for The Art of the Deal.) Don Lemon. (The hack journalist fired from CNN for being a misogynistic #######.) Al Franken. (Effectively fired from the U.S. Senate for similar reasons.) Robert De Niro. (Just trying to pay the bills.) Michael Cohen. (The unhinged former Trump fixer and former inmate who pursued a new career as an anti-Trump celebrity around the same time he became the target of a federal criminal investigation.) Michael Avenatti couldn't make it because he's still in prison. https://freebeacon.com/politics/what-i-learned-at-the-stop-trump-summit/

Makes sense. WAAH tantrum update: Now conservatives are ruining "progressive," too! Conservatives are once again successfully demonizing and devaluing a term embraced by liberals, and this time they are doing it with the help of Democrats. Even in purportedly liberal bastions like San Francisco and Oakland, the word “progressive” is being twisted to denote radical ideas and inept leadership instead of hope and revolutionary change. https://hotair.com/headlines/2023/10/15/waah-tantrum-update-now-conservatives-are-ruining-progressive-too-n584999

Proof of bonafide marriage for 3 yr rule
Dashinka replied to Don0's topic in US Citizenship General Discussion
This is what is shown in the N400 instructions (below) relative to marital evidence to bring to the interview. You do not need all that to actually submit the N400 though even under the 3 yr. rule, although most when filing online will upload it. It seems you already have a bunch of evidence from the I751, so you can add to that, and it is up to you if you want to upload it if you file online or take it with you to the interview. Good Luck! 7. Other Documents. Depending on the circumstances, you should bring certain documents to your interview. You may also submit copies of these documents with your application. For example: A. Spouse of a U.S. Citizen. Bring the following items to your interview if you are applying for naturalization on the basis of your marriage to a U.S. citizen: (1) Evidence that your spouse has been a U.S. citizen for at least 3 years at the time you file your Form N-400. Such evidence may include: a birth certificate (if your spouse never lost U.S. citizenship since birth), Certificate of Naturalization, Certificate of Citizenship, or Form FS-240 Report of Birth Abroad of a Citizen of the United States of America; (2) Evidence of the termination of all your prior marriages; and (3) Evidence that you and your spouse have lived in marital union for at least 3 years at the time you file your Form N-400. Such evidence may include: (a) Joint bank and credit card statements; (b) Leases or mortgages; (c) Birth certificates of children; (d) Insurance policies; and (e) Internal Revenue Service (IRS)-certified copies of the income tax forms that you and your spouse filed for the past 3 years (or an IRS tax return transcript for the last 3 years). https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/n-400instr.pdf -
You are correct. Given your situation with no plans to resume residency in the US, the proper course would be to apply for a B2 visa in Germany, and formally surrender your GC via the I407. If CBP questioned you, it is wrong to suggest not surrendering your GC at that point, but I am not sure if CBP would still parole you in. With the wait times in Germany being very low for a B2 application, you should be able to apply for a visa with the DS160, and then also fill out an I407. I am not sure if you need to do the I407 first or if you can turn it in at the B2 visa interview along with your GC. I would not be too concerned with the tax implications as your spouse being a USC still needs to file taxes annually, and that should cover you. Good Luck!
