SO ironic because this is the EXACT date that we wanted. I was flying home to the USA on the 22nd FROM Sydney so now I can go with my husband to the interview and we will only be separated for ONE week!

My husband and I were talking this evening about how this group has become our saving grace. We have an awesome community here and thanks to everyone for the words of encouragement after my mini-meltdown this morning!

I'm sure they have a photocopier. But, do you really want the officer to have to waste time to copy documents not to mention the higher chance of them leaving the original/certified copy in the machine, then issuing a checklist for the "missing" document?

I had a lovely Sunday. I slept in, went on a 5k run with my esposo, had a big bowl of grits for breakfast (I'm southern and I brought grits to CR because I love them!), tanned out on my small patio, then took a long nap while it rained.
Kept my mind of the interview date until... now.

LoveMyTico and Jsumner86 called NVC and told them you went on vacation so they said they would make you wait as long as we had to. ..............

I called at 1140 EST thinking there's no way I'll get through before they drop all calls, but at 1208 (gosh I forget who she was now ), the rep answered!! And they 'FOUND' my police certificate upon review by the supervisor, probably that 'piece of mail still listed in the mailroom' - which I assume fell off the package when they opened it to scan the barcoded sheet...
I asked her if they could possibly still be doing June interviews and she wasn't sure, but that's better than a definite 'NO'
Anyways, I'm so happy!! My heart is pounding, and I wish this feeling very soon for each of you!!!

Also, but, I got my first, very own car yesterday and thought I'd share the great news with you awesome folks It's a brand new, 2014 Prius. Only had 1 mile on it! I've wanted this car for years and years and finally got one! Although, I definitely wasn't expecting to get one, lol. I've been having car issues with the hand-me-down I received 2 years ago and my husband merely suggested I test drive one (since I never had before). Few hours later, ended up driving this off the lot The 50 mpg is nice though

Also thinking of getting a personalized license plate: Saylin! Not only do I use that name here but pretty much on all sites as my username

Well, ya know, some border officers are pricks. I got one myself when I first started the process who denied me entry into the US. That was my second denial and last attempt as he told me that if I went to another border and tried with "another story" (???), I could get banned for life. I swear, some of them just like the power they have to control people's lives
At least the Canadian officers are nice Or maybe it's just cause I'm Canadian
