  1. it all depends on the count you entered. Play with the app

so i went back 20,000 cases to go from August 31st to the 27th......Shocking, can that be right? Most cases look to be I-130 however. Does USCIS really get that many cases? i wonder how many cases they process per year

    Never mind i found it

"USCIS website: USCIS receives and adjudicates approximately 6 million petitions and applications annually from individuals and employers"

Thats 16,000 cases per day !! Hats off to the USCIS you don't get enough love. I'll be patient with you

  2. Yes case tracker app (i am using for ios). Obviously I don't know other people WAC numbers. I check series round my WAC number and just change count. Numbers are given according to the dates our I129F/ applications were received. By changing count you will see series of application received/ approved/ RFEd, that's the purpose of count.

thanks, cool app. how far back are you going to see approved cases?

  3. You are almost there guys!!! Are you using the Case tracker app? You can see the approval faster, you can also see the series of I129F being approved.

I am still checking and there are still who filed earlier than us or even received same day as us that are not approved or have no RFE. Sad :(

The VJ estimate is quite accurate in our case, so you guys should be receiving approval towards the end of the week or early next week! yayyy!!

case tracker app? and what do you mean by seeing the serires of i129f being approved? Do you mean you check other people's case numbers

  4. I've been busy today looking ahead in terms of all the forms. Last question for the night.

I am a student in professional school so I live off of student loans. We get enough for housing, food, ect.... basically everything! I read that won't qualify as income. I have my brother co-sponsoring, he has a steady job as a surgical resident, makes more than 125% of the poverty line for 4 (himself, his wife, me, and my fiancee) but he is otherwise pretty broke (bank $0.00 lol) month to month you get the point. Is he a good sponsor?

I myself have assets and enough coming in to support me and her, i won't be asking my brother for a dime, just paper work!

  5. When I said they see each other and go on dates then if there is chemistry they will proceed to get engaged. Obviously like little love birds the minute they get back from their date they are going to text each other all night then all day everyday. The relationship will only grow with constant communication, there will be plenty of evidence to show by the time he petitions. I personally don't think he is going to meet, engage, marry, bring her with him all in three months. It's never that easy.

But as far as "arranged" marriages if you want to call it that, I think all marrages are arranged at some level even if it was your wingman introduccing you to a girl at the bar.

This will be my last post on this topic its getting pretty stupid.

If you read what i said you will see i am saying the same thing that you are saying. His question and title of the topic is "How can I marry a Syrian refugee?" then his subquestions are what is the fastest way...ect....

I answered his first question: Yes

and to the people on the thread that are ignorant "he wants to treat her like a slave, marry a naive refugee" "how can you marry someone you still haven't meet" " etc etc etc. I gave a brief explanation of the Syrian situation and the process and how reasonable it is. You are the one fixated on saying arranged marriages are not bone fide relationships.

Lets agree that NEW relationships are not bone fide

  6. Thank you for your insight about arranged marriages.

However, the U.S. requires the petitioner and beneficiary to provide evidence of a boba fide relationship to qualify for a spousal visa. Regardless of traditions, what evidence would a couple that just met and decided to get marry show to prove an ongoing boba fide relationship?

People who meet online will have evidence of communicating over a period of time.

How would the OP show any of this? This is the problem. It's not about culture or arranged marriages. It's about what evidence the OP can provide to show a bona fide ongoing relationship.

  7. Actually, the PDF link says the USC spouse needs to be legally residing in Turkey for at least six months to do this special thing. But hey, his plan isn't until 2016, so he has time to research the steps he needs and make his decision.

My great-grand parents were married as they fled Nazi invasion of Poland to come to US. Yes, the OP needs to meet all the relationship requirements, but I don't see the same negative view point of someone meeting on happy lovely cherry blossoms Asian love.com and those relationships get approved the same as arranged marriages. Just know that you are stepping into a very sensitive situation. It may work out to be beneficial, or it could work out the opposite. Men may not always be as cautious as women (for reasons left unsaid) and you don't want to return to US with someone that changes their mask at the first opportunity. Just means you can be at risk, too, OP.

I second what is in bold.

First off i want to welcome my Syrian friend to the forum, there aren't many of us here. Its good to have you and i hope you stay connected on this forum. Everyone here has great insight just ask and learn!

Second off i want to try and shed light on this whole "helping" and "arranged marriage" discussion for those that aren't from the Middle East. Many of us once established academically or financially or in a career begin to look for a spouse, most decide to find a spouse from their native country (because the language and shared culture give them so much in common) So usually the person takes some time off and flies there. Once there his family usually sets him up on a few dates with available single ladies. They get a chance to talk and know one another, if there is no chemistry they call it off and look again. If chemistry sparks and a relationship develops they usually get engaged rather soon then plan for an early or late wedding. This is the classic situation.

Now that Syrians in the US cannot go back to Syria, we can only fly to neighboring countries and look for a spouse there. That being said everyone outside the country is a refugee and will need financial and emotional support now more than ever.

I agree with the people that contributed to this topic, your original post makes it read like fraud. I advise you to choose your words more carefully not for our sake but for the sake of the consular reviewing your case. As for the specifics on the matter and your big question can i marry a Syrian refugee? I'm sure this site will provide you all the answers and its good that you are reading up ahead.

Stay in touch and I wish you the very best.

  8. So i just remembered the thought process i went thru when i decided to not use the waiver

    1) Syria is unsafe, can you fly to Lebanon? ummm yea i guess

    2) can she drive to Lebanon? NO ITS NOT SAFE..........well then if we approve the petition you know there isn't an open embassy is Syria and she will have to go to Lebanon. So mentioning the she cannot leave Syria might get you rejected because of that; she wouldn't be able to interview anywhere

    3) ok its actually reasonable for her to go to Lebanon.. Then you have 'no' problem meeting.

  9. She's in Damascus. She could enter Lebanon. Actually that's about the only country nowadays that Syrians can enter legally without major difficulties. It seems quite redundant to have that exception within the instructions and yet never apply it, ESPECIALLY to someone who actually has Syrian heritage and did reside there for a significant period. @SuperSaiyanVisa (Kickass screen name btw haha), are you part Syrian as well?

people on visajourney scared me from applying the wavier. I'm a US born citizen to Syrian parents. My fiancee is also in Damascus.

It was very easy to set up the visit. I emailed her copies of my plane ticket and hotel booking (i booked her room with her name and her dads name) they printed those forms and on the Lebanese they showed them all the documents and had no problem entering. Basically the Lebanese just want proof that she isn't going to stay permanently in Lebanon. So packing light and showing hotel reservations for a few days puts her in the clear.

PM if you want more info

My case would tend to hurt your case of applying the wavier. Because Syrians are still meeting in Lebanon

  10. I'm a natural born american citizen. I am however half syrian and did reside in syria from 1994 till 2001. I have asked my aunt in Syria to possibly seek a significant other for me. They introduced me to my cousin's sister in law and we have been talking for a couple of years. I was in jordan where I met my aunt and cousins and spent two weeks back in april of this year (2015). They came from syria (they have jordanian citizenship). However my now Fiance' is syrian and her and her family couldn't get approved for a visa to Jordan. Due to the unrest in Syria, I have no intentions of going there since americans are targeted by terrorist organizations currently existing there. Under those circumstances, would I be able to get a waiver for the requirement for us to meet in the past two years?

P.S: I can prove that I have met my family in Jordan and so can they. I can also prove that my fiance is my cousin's sister in law.

Hello, your case is very similar to mine. My fiancee is from Syria and i asked about the waiver unfortunately i didn't receive any encouraging responses. So i decided to arrange a visit to Lebanon and my fiancee was able to meet us there. which part of Syria is she from?

Yes the wavier exists i just didn't want to take a chance, i don't know what my chance would be with it

  11. So he had to pick up the visa package, do you know if there was an option of having it mailed or emailed or someone else picking it up? Because my fiancée is Syrian living in Damascus and entering and exiting Lebanon just to pick up a package is laborous. Especially if she will have to come once for the medical then come again for the interview, then come again to pick up the visa?

  12. For evidence of relationship. You just need to send copies of the passport stamp pages

your evidence is good enough but if you want to you can also include some text and or chats from the both of you

The passport page with the stamps on it, no problem. is there a special way people print this to show that that page is from that passport?

  13. I have all the evidence on my end (boarding pass, visa stamps) but for my fiancee (she came via car, visa gets stamps on card that gets turned in once returned, hotel was booked in my name) we do have pictures of us there. but any ideas on what else i can get for stronger evidence ?

Ok she found she visa stamped on passport.

Do i send photocopies of entire passport, or just page with visa stamps?
