  1. Hey all, i asked about my case earlier but now after reading a bit more about Administrative Processing I'm left with some new questions. Interviewer never mentioned the words "administrative processing" or give my fiancee a 221g form, they give gave her the passport back after the interview and told her "because you are getting married in Maryland then living in Louisiana we need to check with the lawyer if that is ok, We will contact you to tell you when to bring your passport"

Then when i checked online status is says Administrative Processing. So my questions are:

    1) A.P. with or without 221G, whats the difference?

    2) A.P. with keeping passport vs returned passport whats the difference?

    3) Do the words "administrative processing" get mentioned during interview?

    4) They kept all other documents except the DS160 confirmation page

  2. I don't know why we are still at NVC. They won't tell me. All they say is AP AP AP AP. It's like a broken record!!! Our status says "at NVC". It isn't supposed to take this long to be sent to the embassy. No one else that I know of is having this problem. Our NOA2 was 10/20 and received our case number 11/5. It's as if our case number was assigned and then our petition just disappeared.

AP is the most frustrating thing ever, I'm in AP after interview and I'm very frustrate, I can only imagine how frustrated you must be. Hang in there, want is your plan of action at this point?

  3. Hey Syunny0125,

    Wow... February 2!!

I'm about to send back the DS-2001 form tomorrow at the US Embassy of Paris and I was dreading that type of interview date....

Did you also have to send the DS-2001? Did they get back to you fast??

We were hopping with my fiancé to be together in January... I guess that will not be possible... What about your NOA2 date? Can't you email them and explain that you need a closer date?

Let me know, we are on the same boat in Paris ;)

    Marie

I was originally given a 1/25 date, then i emailed the Embassy explaining that by then our I120F petition, medical, and police records would have expired and that I got everything as specified and as quickly as possible. They emailed back letting us our interview was in two days.

  4. Hey All,

My fiancee had her interview today, all went well except for the end. [backstory- my fiancee is 17 and in Louisiana her dad will have to be present at court, but in Maryland the father's written consent is enough, so we decided to marry in Maryland, thats were my family lives away way]

The consular wasn't sure if that was legal so she wanted to ask the lawyers and asked my fiancee to come drop off her passport once she gets clarification from the lawyer that what we are doing is ok. She didn't mention anything else, she told her everything else is good. Im checking her status now and it says Administrative Processing, is that the reason? isn't that always for background checks thou?

  5. I am sorry about this little delay. But hey, at least it's not a denial!! ;) It will resolve super quick, I am sure! :)

I hope so. I tried to email the Embassy with an explanation and a copy of the laws that say its allowed, but i get an automated response saying "high email volume..blah blah blah.... if your case is in administrative processing we will not reply to your email...blah blah blah..." Ive never received an automated email from them before, strange

  6. Interview --> administrative processing :(

They said they need to check with their lawyer because they aren't sure if it's legal for us to get married in DC but live in Louisiana.

Reason is, she is 17 and in Louisiana her father has to be here to consent vs in DC (where my family lives) they accept written consent. I checked the Louisiana laws and we are all good!

    Hope this resolves quickly

  7. I read that K1 fiancée are eligible for social security numbers. I also read that I should wait two weeks from date of arrival before going to the social security office to apply. My question is when you apply do they give you the "number" right away? I understand the actual cased takes two weeks in the mail

  8. I had the interview thsi morning and I am APPROVED!!!

Can't wait to reach my baby!!!!! I am so excited and happy!!! *_*

I wish to all of you a great journey and end :)

YAY that is GREAT, very happy for you. What will be your plans now?

btw we got our interview re-scheduled from 1/25 to TOMORROW!!! pray for us. Do they keep your passport if approved? give you a slip? I hope you don't mind elaborating on that point a bit.

Again Congrats on being the first approval for September

  9. I contacted the Embassy November 5th and told them i had everything ready for interview. They gave us our date today 1/25/2016. I think that is absurd, almost 3 months!!!!!

What the average wait time for interviews?

If everyone will please reply with date ready for interview to interview date in a similar format to below

    Day interview requested/assigned/ready: Nov 5th

    Day of interview: Jan 25th

    Embassy: Beirut
