  1. Congratulations to all of you for these great updates!

I am leaving tomorrow and I am so excited!!

I am probably won't be able to be on the forum as I did so far. But I'll try my best for still updating on next steps (in the right thread in this forum of course under AoS).

    :) Good luck everyone!!

Very Excited, i believe this whole group is. Finally one of us is crossing over lol. We wish you safe travels and an easy entry.

Oh my goodness!! Congratulations!!! I bet this must feel so surreal! If you can please let us know what the POE was like!

    Yes please do tell!

completed my medical today. it went really smooth. cannot wait to get this done! :)

Congrats, we all knew it would go well. Did you also get your procedure done?

Our case finally went from "immigrant AP" to "non-immigrant READY"

So I guess next it should go to "non-immigrant AP" then "ISSUED" right? how long is that usually taking?

  2. My fiancé had her interview this morning at the consulate in Warsaw. We were approved!! We are both so happy!! What a relief! Although we both had no doubts about the approval, there are always the lingering thoughts of "What if we're not approved... What then?"

Keep strong everyone. It can be a very stressful process at each step. So many unknowns. Thanks Visajourney and all of its members for making the road so much easier to navigate! I pray that everyone gets to see their loved ones soon!

Congrats! Expected date for visa in hand and POE?

  3. Actually I had no idea about the CEAC site at that time. I only started checking the site on the day they gave him back his passport with no visa... I entered his case number and it said AP. But I do know that it said "Case created: August 4" ... and August 4 was the day they gave him back his passport. So I'm not really sure!

But I will mention that on the day my fiance picked up his passport after the orange slip... there were 3 guys that didn't get the K1 visa, but the girl that was there did get the K1 visa.

Hate to say it but same situation here. Got the call said he was approved and bring in the passport. Orange slip issued to come back in 10 days for the visa We booked flights then they told him to pick up his passport two days prior that visa wasn't ready. Now six weeks later they call to say they need another document... So back to waiting. When we checked online in the meantime it said non immigration admin processing with creation date the day they told him to pick up the passport. Prior to that it was immigration AP.

Hope that's not the case for you.

Keep us updated! We are all in the same frustrating wait game.

    Oh God!

  4. Was it an orange slip? When my fiance had his interview, they asked him to bring his passport and then was given an orange slip that had the next week's date on it to come back and pick up his passport. So when he came back on that date he picked up the passport but no visa. Hopefully yours is different and they will really issue your fiance's visa on the 9th. Especially since she is a woman I think women get visas quicker than men :) Keep us updated.

Yea the orange slip exactly. at that time do you remember what your ceac.state.gov status said? I get "AP" when i enter our case number and "no status" when i enter the DS160 number.

  5. Very confused, upset and angry!!! The embassy turned her away for her interview saying they did not have her petition. Our case status said ready as of Nov 27th and today says ready as of Dec 4th. If it is ready, how do they not have her petition in their system yet?? I called NVC and the embassy and they were of no help. All they say is to wait. Wait for a letter from the embassy that everyone who processes through the Philippines says never comes. How in the hell are we supposed to know when she can interview if "Ready" means NOTHING!!!!

With hardship comes ease, with hardship comes ease. Keep the faith alive, this is obviously just a small delay it will be resolved. The embassy isn't doing their job right if they don't fustrate us first, it's like part of the process.

  6. Medical is done- 5 shots in one arm and he's feeling crappy, but doctor said everything looks great and we're one step closer! Interview next week <3 <3

Indeed one step closer, AND its the last step hopefully!

Medical done!!! Packet in hand and all set for interview tomorrow!!! I am so happy! I've been a nervous wreck the last 2 days. Praying there would be no problems for her. One more hurdle and I'll be booking her flight to the US!!

Please pray for us for a successful interview tomorrow. :goofy::joy::):D:dance:

All glory to God for answered prayers!

Best of luck!! She might be done by now let us know how it went

I am so happy for everyone! I had to take a wee break from VJ as I just became a nervous wreck for everyone. Medical next week, shots done but a cyst needs to be removed tomorrow...funny though, I am more worried about the immigration medical than having a breast cyst removed...I'm sure they will have me psyche evaluated for sure now... Praying for good news and great reviews on the interviews tomorrow!!

Im on my psych rotation now and I can say we all have some flavor of personality disorder lol jk, this process is more stressful than anything I've been through. wishing you a successful procedure and medical

  7. i hear you! :) it really not that big of a deal but i also get his point of view. we have a co sponsor too since my fiance is still a med-school student. i took us a while to gather everything but its worth it.

theres always up's and downs. dont worry too much. feel group hugged :)

I am a med student as well. I used a co-sponsor because i have no income other that financial aid which apparently doesn't count.

  8. Every email you send them causes them to take time to read and decide how to respond to that email and then the time to respond. That time needs to be devoted to working cases. They work 8 hours and they have many more cases than just your case.

From my experience working in a case load job, you purge the case out to a time when you can work on it. For example, they might plan to work on the case in two or three weeks to give you time to respond to the request. So they may have a particular day when they expect to work on the case. If they worked willy nilly on each piece of information that walked through the door, very little would get done. They are working on older cases right now and getting to the information that someone had sent in two or three weeks before you guys had your interview.

They plan their work and work their plan. You ain't there yet - wait for at least an update or two, and you might be pleasantly surprised!

I pray that it won't be long. I can't help being frustrated thou because its like the grocery store if you have a long line infant of you but you only have one item, there should be a self checkout or express line for smaller things. I just hope our issue is a small one and our visa gets approved quickly, its taking a toll on my psychi

  9. From my personal experience and from what I have read on other's posts in the AP forums, your idea is rather silly.

In our experience, the embassy was working on our case and we had progress. While we experienced a delay when our case hit "READY" in NIV status, and the way Amuli's delay was, to me, those are legitimate delays. I was in Ready for 40 days and seen several cases get issued even ones that were on the same status as us. Amuli is/was on the last step before issuance.

Getting a rep involved when you haven't even waited two weeks won't get you too much results. I could be wrong, but you haven't given the embassy time to work on your case. USEM's don't need to reply to Congressional inquires with anything different than the information they give you. If you don't give the USEM time to work your case and go directly to a legislative person, don't feel stone-walled if they won't take any action until you have actually waited on the process.

    I see.

Its frustrating, all they told my fiancee is wait until we check with legal then you can bring your passport back for the visa. No indications on how long that takes, it took me 5 minutes to pull the legislation that says our marriage will be valid, 5 mins!! The part that is pissing me off is the lack of communication since the interview. I used to email them constantly before the interview and they always replied within one day, now its like we are going to leave you in limbo and not even reply. Just an email saying we are working on it please be patient will lift my spirits at this point.

  10. I have come across a lot of scenarios but this is not one i can give you much insight on. But based on my research, representatives won't really get involved until the initial approval time from USCIS has passed. But trying never hurts. Perhaps you can get a written statement from a lawyer with the laws and send it to the embassy.

Like I said before, it took us five weeks between each review so be patient this embassy is not known for speedy processing. But try to provide them with as much documentation as you can from both states regarding the marriage laws.

Just out of curiosity, when does your fiancé turn 18?

I emailed the embassy a copy of the legislation that says its legal, except i get an automated response that they are receiving too many emails and if your AP don't expect an answer back.

    Not until mid July.

You essentially want to contact your representative after being in AP for 13 days?

Yes. The vibe that I'm getting is that they just toss these cases aside until someone decides to give them a push on their back. What do you suggest?

  11. I contacted our local congresswoman last week. Signed a waiver they requested and waiting to hear back on her inquiry. My case status was finally updated yesterday but still showing non immigration admin processing. Hate to be the bearer of bad news but If your in beruit embassy you might be in AP longer then expected.

I actually called NVC non immigrant customer service today. They are able to see what notes the embassy may have on file. The representative said everything looked good and hopefully since it was updated yesterday good news may be on the way. (Fingers crossed) he did say the embassies tend to take longer than expected in some cases and countries.. Just have to try to stay positive as hard as that may seem.

But after months of watching the pattern it usually takes 5 weeks almost exactly between each update for us.

Good luck to all and keep us posted!

our issue was my fiancee is 17, and in Louisiana her father has to be present in court to get married. However, in Maryland we can marry with a written father's consent. So we were going to marry in Maryland (where my family is) then settle in Louisiana. During the interview the consular said we need to check with the lawyers to see if that is allowed and that they will call us. Our status shows AP since. Do you think I will benefit from contacting my representative right now? have them at least explain to the Embassy that as long as the marriage is legal where it took place Louisiana has no problem recognizing it.

  12. Hey everyone, hope y'all had a blessed Thanksgiving. Seems like a lot of people have interviews this coming week, best of luck to everyone!

It would be really cool if we can tally up how many people are at each stage, because there will come a time when someone without an interview yet is going to freak out thinking she/she is the only one left. So if you think this could be helpful, please just tally your self into the list below:

    NOA1: 0

    NOA2: 0

    NVC case number: 0

    Embassy 'ready": 0

    Interview Scheduled: 0

    Interviewed-approved: 0

    Interviewed-AP: 1

    ARRIVED TO GLORIOUS U.S.A: 0

  13. this does not make any sense

it does not matter what state you get married in

or where you live in the US as long as you give immigration the correct mailing address where you will live

I agree. The little wrinkle i forgot to mention in this post that i mentioned in my previous post, is the she is 17. In Maryland a written father's consent is enough vs. in Louisiana we need the father to be present in court. I did check the Louisiana marriage laws, it said as long as that marriage wad legal in the state where it was preformed we shall recognize it (with the exception of same sex marriages). So legally i believe we are clear, just trying to sort this A.P. #######
