Mohamed&Laura reacted to michellefor in Nebraska Service Center ??
Base on the filer May ,2014 should be getting their Green Card or ready for interview by now if you don't have any RFE requestment, perhaps you should go make an appointment via InfoPass. Just simply go to USCIS website for that.
GOOD LUCK to you. At least you have filed the RFE the last day before the expired date and you have done your best.

Mohamed&Laura got a reaction from Jon York in Can I buy a one way ticket ???
Yes...I was assuming he would want to return. Sorry. I also assumed everybody knows they can leave at will. This isn't israel with their NO EXIT garbage.

K1 visa is a single entry visa. He cannot go back to his country until after he adjusts status and gets an Advanced Parole for travel. Maybe your family is not wanting him to marry you and stay in USA.

Mohamed&Laura reacted to KayDeeCee in Can I buy a one way ticket ???
Why would someone entering using a K-1 with the intent to stay need a round trip ticket? Your family is mistaken. A one-way is perfectly fine.
You can do a search here on VJ and find quite a few threads on this topic.
~ Moved from K-1 Progress Reports to Working & Traveling During US Immigration - topic is travel to US with K-1 visa ~

Mohamed&Laura reacted to sabinucsb in October 2013 Filers
SHE'S APPROVED!!! 5-7 Business days until the visa arrives. We'll be driving across the border at the AB/ Sweetgrass, MT crossing. Finally bringing the part of the journey we have to spend apart to a close. Thanks to everyone who helped along the way, hope everyone's journey goes as smoothly as ours did.

Mohamed&Laura reacted to Boiler in Marrying on Tourist Visa - USCIS officer said it's ok???
If she is here on a tourist visa she can stay and adjust.
If she arrives on a tourist visa with her worldly belongings and tells them she is going to stay she will be on the next plane back.

"Bring originals and photocopies..."
That particular line is not asking you for photographs but COPIES of documents.

I got a RFE at 7:45 am! I am so happy because this means I won't be waiting for months and months and months! I'll mail off whatever they need ASAP and then on to the slow process with NVC. 23 days from NOA1... amazing!

Mohamed&Laura reacted to Jeanna in BOTH visas issued!!! Quick turn-around time
Salaam and peace, ya'll! BOTH of their visas were issued as of today! We are anticipating them being ready for pick-up by early next week. There is a possibility they could come here before Thanksgiving even or directly after; I don't think they should travel during the Thanksgiving weekend due to the volume of traffic.
So happy! Our CEAC timeline:
Nov. 1st interview, CO gave temp rejection while they adjudicated my foreign divorce
Nov. 7th created our account in CEAC, switched to "Ready"
Nov. 8th Called fiance to tell him to bring in passports for visa issuance
Nov. 12th Dropped off passports at embassy in Kingston, no paper or confirmation given
Nov. 12th his son's status was updated, kept at "Ready" but fiance's was not
Nov. 20th both put into AP... getting close!!!
Nov. 20th fiance now updated to "Issued" but son kept at "AP"
Nov. 21st his son is now updated to "Issued" as well
Allahu akbar! Thanks to everyone who has helped us with moral support and advice, wish I had joined this site sooner!

Mohamed&Laura reacted to vbtwo in K1 visa noa2 dated 7/15 still have no case no. or transfer notice!!
Yes, you should get another update that it's been sent to Department of State. That is when you know it's actually sent to the NVC, about a week after that you should get your case number.

Mohamed&Laura reacted to JayJayH in Emergency Situation
Meeting the in-laws to-be on a bad hair day is awful.
Meeting the in-laws to-be in CBP detention pending removal is worse.

Mohamed&Laura reacted to Zedayn in Emergency Situation
You know there are hairdressers in the US right? Fly first, do hair later.

Mohamed&Laura reacted to Kevin y Kelly in Emergency Situation
I'm in Colombia now. I'm trying to rush her out of here ASAP.

Mohamed&Laura reacted to Kevin y Kelly in Emergency Situation
I feel what you're saying Yang-Ja. If we can leave tomorrow we will. Kelly is frustrating me now because she wants to go to the hairdresser so she can look good for my family and I'm dealing with this crisis .

Mohamed&Laura reacted to JayJayH in Emergency Situation
But they have a flight leaving tomorrow. Don't wait until Saturday, leave tomorrow. IF for any reason your flight got delayed on Saturday, your fiancee may or may not be able to enter the US..

Mohamed&Laura reacted to JayJayH in Emergency Situation
While it may seem like a small technicality, the CBP officer cannot, and will not admit her into the US if her visa is expired. Even by one day.
Change your flight ASAP. Change it to the 22nd if you can, as any flight delay could render her visa useless.
It should be noted to future readers that everything immigration related is counted in calendar days - not months. 90 days does not equal 3 months, and 180 days does not equal 6 months.
-
Mohamed&Laura reacted to Zedayn in Emergency Situation
If the visa expires on the 23rd, it will no longer be valid after that date. If your flight is for the 24th, she will not be able to enter the US (expired visa). I suggest you change your flight.

Mohamed&Laura reacted to Teddy B in Tourist Visa Denied
If there is nothing difficult about your case, such as criminal records or past immigration problems, then you should be able to do it yourself and save a bundle of money for a nice honeymoon. You'll be able to get all of the help you need right here.
Good Luck.
