Hey girl. My honey was approved. He had a nice American man interview him but asked A LOT of questions. He was at the Embassy for over 4 hours. Told him he will get the Visa in one to two weeks. Hoping your man's interview goes just as well

I've done a lot of research on this website and elsewhere regarding the visa process and of course, it seems like everyone has a different experience. But of those people out there who applied for the IR-1/CR-1 visa for a spouse coming from Egypt, what was your experience?

I married my husband in March of this year and our I-130 was received on May 13, 2014 and is currently being processed in Vermont. I feel like I don't know how to plan for anything. It seems like overall, the entire process--from I-130 to visa in hand--the average time for everyone is about 9 months, but looking at people's timelines, many people took over a year This is discouraging.

What were all of your experiences like with Egypt and the US Embassy in Cairo?

I think our case is an exception. A little over 6 months, but ours was a fiancé Visa as well.

They were crazy for us, so I'm glad you had a great experience. Now, let's get that visa to him, so he can travel.

They told him 1 to 2 weeks but is this always the case when they say this? Could he still go into a long AP?

Don't know yet, but if all the transfers are headed to CSC then I would suspect it would, yes.

So glad we were approved through CSC before they got the Texas back log haha!

He was in the interview for about 4 and a half hours! He said the man took him last because he wanted to see pictures. I will have to really talk to him and get details before I can write a review up

The Visa was approved!. Hurray! Just have to wait for the Visa to be issued then I can really celebrate.

So much luck to the both of you! Our interview is today also. He just arrived at the embassy. Peruvians are so predictable! Always, Always everything at the very last minute. His interview is scheduled a 8:45 am. It is 8:26 am in Peru and he arrived only 5 minutes ago! I am ready to jump through my skin. So I know how you feel exactly.
