Yea...nothing yet
Been waiting for an interview for an expedite and nothing yet from the consulate directly
Does Ramadan affect anything now with timing? Do the Muslims still go to work or what?

UGH, they take forever

You should email them once in awhile to see if they have an interview date yet or you can check this website for your case number. It is a list of interview dates:
http://egypt.usembas...nsular/iv8.html
Go to the top of the page where it says edit then click on "find." Start typing in your case number and either your case number will show in the list of interview dates or it won't. At what stage are you in the process? Did you send packet 3 back to them yet?
Hi,My case was updated last week, but I haven't recieved any mail or emails.if they have scheduled my interview date.how long will it take them to notify me? Will they notify me by mail?

Before the end of the month can be KILLER when you are waiting to e-mail the Embassy to find out if you have an interview for the next month!!!!!!! Oh LORD please, we want our interview in August. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

Congratulations! Cannot WAIT for this separation to end soon. I will be dancing tooooooooooo

It is normal to be nervous and anxious and over-think everything. I know it is easier said than done, but take a few deep breaths, tell yourself you researched, prepared and followed all the instructions, and try to relax. I wish you both luck for his visa approval and your upcoming marriage.
Ahhhhhhhhhh thank you so much!
I needed to hear thisss especially when my fiance is so DEPRESSED with thoughts of something going wrong or being denied. I told him not to have those toxic thoughts ughhhh lol
-
yup
Nevermind. I don't know what I was thinking. I followed exactly everything the Embassy emailed me to send them. lol They said photocopy. I will have him bring originals to the interview.
1. Photocopy of passport (the original to be submitted on the appointment date)
2. Photocopy of birth certificate
3. A copy of your divorce certificate (If previously married and divorced)
4. Police certificate from your country of nationality if you are 16 years old or older
5. Police certificate if you lived in a different country for more than 12 months and you were 16 years or older at that time.
6. An Affidavit of Support (Form I-134) signed by the Petitioner and notarized before either a notary public in the U.S. or a consular officer at the embassy (this can be done on the day of your appointment).
7. Petitioner’s most recent year of federal income taxes (form 1040 only). Please also bring the most recent W2 form and a job letter indicating current salary and length of employment
8. Medical exam for applicant as attached, medical examination report should be submitted on the day of the visa interview. Applicants are advised to schedule their medical examination 3weeks prior to the date of their visa interview.
9. Applications: DS-160 application online application form: https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/, please print the confirmation page and send it along with the documents.
10. 2 photos face view photos with a white background for the applicant
11. Payment for the visa application ($240) at the consular cashier on the appointment date.

Should my fiance have sent an original copy of his birth certificate to the Embassy?
-
yes i got the same thing from the NVC and they want the original copy with the stamp from your country. As for the Affidavit of Support you might need to see if you send them all that the right papers. make sure you send in your w2 and answer all the question on the form right. also there is much help on here to help you feild out your papers right.
Wait, the beneficiary has to submit the original birth certificate?????? And W2? I didn't think they had taxes in Egypt?

There was no factual reason, it was a biased assumption and speculative BS. No factual reason was given.
I asked what the problem was she responded she did not think we would have a lasting
marriage. When asked what brought her to such conclusion she responded : Nothing, just a gut feeling.
Case was returned, expired. We re filed, were approved again and are currently waiting for NVC case number.
Oh my gosh, I would DIE!!! Then re-file, as I'm sure you did :'( How horrible......Gut feeling it wouldn't last???????!!!!!!! I will slap you lady UGHHHHH
-
We got lucky in everything in reality. Total wait time from file to visa in hand: 7.5 months
Hoping and praying we get the same. We are going on 5 months soon, from the time we filed. We shall see
-
exactly...cultural issues for the most part...and yep ,I am an Egyptian woman but my story is more complicated than what you usually hear about
Awwww I'm sorry to hear this. Can I just throw in my 2 cents? Who cares what anyone thinks, go for what you want and what you believe in
I know it's hard when family doesn't agree! ugh

we met 8 years ago (in 2006) ,then it has been a long distance relationship on and off...we've been fully committed to each other for all that long while having no hope to ever get married because of so many reasons...then after our last meeting in Moscow last February ,we finally applied for our k1 visa...now I got back to Egypt and he's back in the USA waiting for the sloooooow process to go on and we're nowhere near being sure that it might eventually work out
Hmmmmm, not to sound rude but seems this may have been on some part your guys' fault? I know you probably don't want to be specific but I guess if it was about money I can understand. If two people really want to be together I think they can do anything to do that; just that the process takes a long time for some but definitely usually not 8 years lol Holy moly. I think you guys have a unique relationship/situation going on.
You said on and off and no hope to get married. Maybe religious or age differences. You are an Egyptian woman ?
-
oh trust me ,we've almost broken a record...we're been in a distance relationship on and off for 8 years now hopelessly and I am sensing me getting back to Egypt will just make it worse now
WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY 8 years????????????????????!!!!!!!!!
-
The highlighted is the worst...
Good Luck!!
Thank you very much!
-
Same here !....and I made the dumb mistake of getting back to Egypt before my interview (I was in Moscow when we started the process and was supposed to be interviewed there )and transferred our case from Moscow to Cairo...I awfully regret that now....we're starting to get so damn bored
Hmmmmmmmmm, I heard both places can take some time for an interview? I might be wrong. Tell me about it, I am SO SICK OF HAVING A RELATIONSHIP over the computer. Totally inactive and boringgggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg. So ready to start our livessss together and do thingssss
-
Actually, since we are on what is the worst :
Interviewed, AP 16 months, visa refused, starting over = years and years !
This is one thing I REFUSE to think about right now!!!! I am sorry you are going through this or went through it. If it happened then I would just have to start planning for another trip to Egypt and have that to look forward to. I can't imagine a nightmare happening right now. UGH!
...and "immigration reform" means granting citizenship to people who came illegally.
That's why so many are massing on the border now. They're smart enough to come illegally whereas all of us are so dumb we try to follow the law.
Thanks to OUR wonderful amazing president.
Sorry for those who like him. I DO NOT!
-
I know easier said than done, but just try keep your mind on other things. I was away from my now husband for 6 months, and no matter how hard I tried there was just a constant ache. But we are now married, and been living together for 5 months and all of that waiting and being apart just seems like a distant nightmare. It's all worth it in the end
Some days I am ok, really. Other days feels like a day lasts a month lol I know it will be worth it in the end, it's just SO HARD NOWWWWWWWWWW!!! ahhhhhhhhhh lol!
-
Yeah I know. It has two speeds: Slow and stop. But it works in the end. My fiance is here with me in New York. It took forever for us too. But forever got here. And it will get there for you too.
Thank you for your encouraging words! So happy for you
Get prepering your mind , just in case after the interview they put in administrative processing.
I dont know what is more frustating, if waiting for the interview date or wait in ap after your be approved at the interview
Relax and prepare your mind.
I know. Trying not to get my hopes too high! ughhhhh I am deathly afraid of AP being long
So funny! I was just thinking the same thing so I decided to logon to VJ and see what was going on with everybody else - and ran across your post - perfectly expressing what I was thinking!
HEHE! Glad I could post your thoughts
I'll check out your timeline !

Just to set things straight, Philippines is anything but fast. Took us 2 1/2 months to get our interview date, and we got it just in the nick of time before everything collapsed there. Now it is next to impossible to get an interview date.
Our total wait, 9 months, not too bad but much of that buoyed by the TSC being super fast last year. Now that TSC is back to normal speed (6 months), add 4 months onto those 9, plus whatever it takes to get interviews in Philippines, and they are now running about 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 years.
Oh ok. So, Philippines is now acting like Egypt lol
-
Yeah, waiting for the interview. UGHHHHHHHHH lol I have good days and horrific dayssss
Thanks you guys
-
Yes I will do that.
So do I need to send her the original bank letter or just a copy?
I'm assuming you are getting prepared for sending all necessary documents for packet 3? What I wonder is if they will need any of these documents again for the interview?
-

I sent the original. Can always go back and get another one right? Better to be on the safe side and send originals.
