  1. So is there any hope for people who are getting approved now (like me) to think that our spouses can join us by Dec/Jan? My first anniversary is in January and I'm praying that I can spend it with him here in US as it would be nearly impossible for me to go visit. :(

hey, I believe that with the new changes they just had made it will take less than 6 months in nvc.

I hope to be in USA in Jan/Feb.

    *praying everyday*

  2. Yes, it makes sense to send AOS and IV documents together.

However, you won't be able to send the AOS package while waiting for the IV fee invoice so you'll probably end up waiting longer if you get a checklist for the AOS package.

In other words, you'll wait for up to 60 calender days for the IV fee invoice; then, send your AOS and IV documents and wait for another 60 calender days. If you're lucky, you get a CC in 120 days (4 months) from getting your case number. :dead:

If you get a checklist, you'll wait for another 60 calender days (total of 180 days or 6 months). If you get a second checklist, you'll end up waiting for 8 months at the NVC stage. Getting stuck at NVC for 8 months would be a crime! :bonk:

Edit: I see a sentence: "Please allow 15 days for the NVC to process your DS-261 before continuing to the next step." http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/approved/Step_1_Choose_an_agent.html Maybe you'll receive the IV fee invoice in 15 days from filling out the DS-261? If so, it'll definitely save a lot of time! I had to wait for 40 days for the IV fee invoice.

I believe they are going to unlock both AOS and IV fee at the same time.

I really really want it this way!

8 months in USCIS was way too much and I don't want to spend another 6 or 8 in nvc :P

  3. Hey Nanana!! So glad to finally see u finally got NOA2!!! Hope its better at NVC and u can get a quick CC. I really encourage u to read and re-read Saylin's wiki and hope u already have all docs (especially the Police Certificates) as some may take months to obtain ?. I havent called NVC but just keep trying until u get thru.

aww Thank you! I've talked to nvc today and they had received our case at 3rd of Sept., so now officially I am on nvc boat :D more waiting "yay"

sad thing is that there is still few Dec filers still waiting for noa2.

I'm glad! We hit 2 months from POE this week, there's still a lot of adjustment going on but life together is incredible. All the ups and downs of the visa process are just a fading memory now, and that is definitely something for everyone here to look forward to :)

I am looking veeery forward to it!

    happy adjusting :D

  4. so true with the service request. I don't know what to believe at this point. I called and spoke to a tier two on Thursday and was told my background was just sent out on July 28th and they are still waiting. I asked after almost nine months you guys are just sending my petition for security check! I couldn't believe it.

When my husband talked to Tier2 he told him that our case was sent out to "extended background check" on May 30th.. He said it might take up to 90days, if it was true what he said then our background check took about 2 months.. I hope you will get your noa2 sooner!

  5. Thanks nanana, how is the water in NVSea? :D

We're in touch with a caucus member from ACA (American Citizens Abroad) working on making an inquiry for our petition. We have also emailed Nebraska directly a few days ago explaining our issue, still no reply. Same day we emailed uscis associate directors (for the heck of it), no replies, oh yes, sorry, auto-replies saying they are out of office until xx date.

We were trusting (ah ah ah) the uscis this would go smoothly and that we would not need to jump thru such hoops. Naive we were. What a mess.

My case was shipped yesterday to nvc.. so so far I am still waiting :P

    what a mess. yup.

  6. Hi,

    Thank you all.

I got back yesterday late at night from my trip, I had no access to internet for all these days (beside this one day when we got approved - lucky me ) and I was going through all these pages with a hope that I will see more approvals ! but I am sad to see that there is none.

I would like to let you know that we had contacted our congressman twice, talked to Tier2 two or three times, put 2 e-requests and wrote twice directly to Nebraska. Last response we got 4 days before approval : " USCIS records indicate your case was undergoing an extended background check. The background check is now complete and the case is assigned to an officer.Although assigned, we are unable to predict the date a final decision will be made. If you have not received a notice of action or a decision on this case within 30 days, please contact us for an update."

Not sure if bugging all of them had helped or it was by luck.

I am hoping that you will all get approved soon ! I want to go thru nvc stage with you, December family :)

  7. same here. some how now we have adjusted with this thing. we know that we can not do anything, this thing will be done on its own time. waiting is the ultimate solutions for now :) happy waiting...

It is frustrating me, that we can not do anything. I am aware that my frustration will not do any good, therefore I am not letting myself to get frustrated to often :D

so yep, here we are waiting 8 months... punished for doing the things the right way. But I am never giving up! :)

    Hey guys!

I had a very pleasant news while visiting my husband :)

Thank God our I-130 was approved on July, 23rd and shipped off to NVC on August, 1st. We've got approved after an RFE, they asked for a certified copy of our marriage certificate)

I feel for all of you still waiting for NOA2...I know how hard it is to wait away from our beloved ones

Hope you all be approved very soon and join me on the NVC Stage!

    G.

Great news :) Good luck with NVC ! I wish you zero checklists !

  8. Hey, here you can find a letter along with email addresses that we want to send to tomorrow (Monday).

We should join this action and ask our family members to do it too.

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/508457-lengthening-wait-times-letter/

ow. two more things, if you can think of any other places-emails we should email it - add it to the list :) and we need to use different subjects lines for the email so they don't take it for a spam...

    are you in ??

p.s. even if you are approved at uscis you still should join, because nvc is backlogged right now too..

  9. BTW can you tell me, do you have any kind of i mean any kind of relationship in past with USICS, USA? Any idea why they put your case in additional review? Trying to figure it out why they put cases in additional review...[/size]

It is my first time dealing with uscis and my husband as well..

I made research what this 'message' could mean and what I found is that most of the time it means NOTHING. BS. That's all. I think that way to many of US Dec fillers is Still waiting therefore All their responses are meaningless..

But I Still have faith in NSC and people working there :D Come on uscis !! Hurry up !!

  10. so we got our SR response and it says "... we have to perform additional review on this case and this has caused a longer processing time. If you do not receive a decision or other notice of action from us within 6 months from this letter, please call customer service at the number provided below. "

great ! Nebraska is the best in sending meaningless full of c r a p messages.

i am not waiting 6 months before contacting them again...

how are you guys, anyways ? It is super hot in Poland MSN-Emoticon-hot-023.gif
