  1. And the partial government shutdown has begun! :-(

Fox News is reporting that the Department of State is going to continue processing foreign applications for US visas and combined with the info someone posted directly from a USCIS employee, I think we will be okay. Maybe they will even work faster if they aren't being bothered by any other government agencies contacting them! :-)

Here's hoping for a nice, quiet, productive day at USCIS & NVC.good.gif

But boy does this shutdown make the US look bad. dry.png

Not happy at all due to this shutdown...!!!!!protest6wz.gif don't know who is responsible.... Obamacare or Republicans....

but why all this ####### is happening at this time.........ranting33va.gif

right now we are facing this shutdown and this 17th, don't know what is going to happen... government is going to reach its borrowing limit...... (possibly could lead to another shutdown)....cray5ol.gif

    Congress...come onnnnnnnnnnn............

  2. I'm just passing along what my lawyer said this morning.

If it directly affects the USCIS... I don't know... but it will definitely get held up at the NVC. The NVC is a different government office

Ahh!!! that really frustrating to know....

but i have googled this and got this one: http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/09/29/20745618-a-government-shutdown-what-could-it-look-like?lite

I guess its not gonna effect immigration services......

  3. Well, definitely not at VSC, cause service centers stopped processing I-130s in August of last year. Perhaps it was a Philly local office.

Yes, we got our hard copy on the 14th.

Are you a September filer, too? Come and join us in Sept thread then smile.png

    And timeline.gif

Ah!!! I am an early April filer........ was goin through Sep thread... saw a lottt many posts from you there...... smile.png

seems like u r one of those who jus can't wait to see their better half.....smile.png

Believe me...its been 6+ months that i am away from my wife (she is in US).... nd this wait really sucks.....

  4. Hi all,

I am too April,2013 filer, still waiting for NOA2.... still in 'initial review'... crying.gif

I have a brother-in-law (US green card holder), he applied for his wife on 12th April, and already got approval and got his NVC case number too. He is in process of filing AOS. It is really disappointing for me that my wife is a US citizen and we are still waiting. Called USCIS call centre 3 times but same answer - WAITTTTTTTTTTTTT.........

  5. Hello everyone,

I got married 3rd Feb, 2013 and my wife submitted her I-130 (US citizen filing for spouse) on 2nd April, 2013. I received a text and email confirming the case has been accepted on 4th April, 2013. E-mail says that :

"Your case has been accepted and routed to the USCIS National Benefits Center for processing"

Its already 6th month going on and still USCIS website shows that my application is under 'initial review'. I am tired of checking status updates daily (as it remains same and pissing me off crying.gif ).

    1. Does anyone know what are the processing dates for NBC for i130?

    2. When i am checking USCIS website, in the table for timeframe there is no listing of i130 at all. So i don't know why my case is at NBC. Also, the website was updated in June .

    3. Its already 6 months and i came to know that this petition takes around total of 9 months. Is there something fishy in my case.
