MichelleRenee got a reaction from Ksenia_O in June 2017 I-751 filers
I'm assuming we were just randomly selected because we have a really standard case and they didn't ask for any more evidence. I also thought it was weird that it would take that long to hear anything and that the website wasn't showing any updates. But that's uscis for ya!

MichelleRenee got a reaction from Mushulatubbe in I-751 Interview (Chicago)
I assumed we were picked at random but wasn't sure if anyone had heard of them combining an I-751/N-400 interview which I highly doubt they would do despite it sounding like less work on their end! We all know they don't do things the easy way though

MichelleRenee reacted to Nich-Nick in Civil Surgeon/Blood Test?
He had separate shots for MMR--mumps, measles, rubella. Two for rubella, two for measles, and one for mumps. I would think he would be approved on that one. He's pretty well covered on those diseases even if he didn't have the second dose of mumps. Many get approved on one MMR shot.
Varicella has VH so okay
Flu Has the waiver marked "not flu season", so okay.
Those first two lines cover Diptheria, Tetanus, Pertussis...adult line and baby line. He is lacking one given in the last 10 years. 1988 was his last one. So yes he is due a booster. It could get overlooked by an adjudicator in a hurry, but the darn nurse at Knightsbridge had to write on it that he has chosen to defer his required shot. That kind of calls attention to it.
Choice to make:
Find a civil surgeon who will copy all those shots from the DS-3025 plus the proof from his two others onto the immunization section of an I-693 without giving any blood test or TB skin test or medical exam. They are often hard to find. They don't understand the K1 process. $25-35 would be a reasonable fee.
Or
Send that copy of the DS-3025 with AOS and cross your fingers, knowing full well he isn't complete on that form. Hope for a miracle. If he gets an RFE, then go find your civil surgeon and get an I-693. He's got so much stuff on that form that may not bother to decipher it. An RFE is no big deal now that he is here with you.

MichelleRenee reacted to Glyn and Kathy in Green Card and Moving Overseas
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE...take my advice and the advice of others here. IF AT ALL POSSIBLE, get citizenship FIRST, before you move out of the country. While its not any harder to apply a second time around, its an added expense and stress down the road when you want to come back. You will never had to worry about a sponsor or income guidelines in the US again! Just remember, once you have citizenship, even when you aren't living in the US, it is your responsibility to file a tax return every year (even though you most likely will not owe any tax). ALSO months before you plan on attempting a move to the UK, research the procedure. While it is normally a quicker process, it is a lot harder. They have pretty steep income guidelines and as someone mentioned, no co sponsors allowed. You also need to have had that income for a certain amount of time to use it as money to sponsor. So, unless you have A LOT of money saved up or a good income that will continue after your move the UK, then you and your spouse will probably be apart for a good length of time so he can go over, get a steady job, and show a steady income for whatever time length it is they require. If you wish to stay with family at the beginning they also require proof of adequate housing. They have made it very difficult to immigrate into the UK, and the laws change just about every year...so always good to keep an eye on it.

MichelleRenee reacted to Cathymac in Lengthening wait times letter
Someone has written a letter suggesting we bombard the relevant agencies and media outlets over extended USCIS and now NVC wait times. We are suggesting a mass email to be sent out this week. Here is the content:
I am writing to you today as a part of a group that has been invisible. I am writing to you today to be seen. You are supposed to represent the people. I am writing to you today for help.
Each month a few hundred thousand I-130 petitions are filed with the USCIS from a US citizen on behalf of their spouse who is not a resident of the United States. These are people who have fallen in love and see no boarders in that. These are also people who trust their government and wish to go about bringing their loved ones into the country LEGALLY and do exactly as the system and government agencies ask.
We feel we are not being treated as law abiding tax paying citizens. We are being treated as if we do not matter, or even exist.
It is currently taking over one year in total to bring the spouse of a US citizen to the USA. With current laws giving priority to ILLEGAL immigrants we are being set aside. The problem is no one knows we are here. WE are hundreds of thousands of people being torn apart from our loved ones, our family, our friends and our human right to be happy. Children are forced to be separated from one of their parents. Wives are going through child birth without their spouses to witness the life they have created being introduced into the world. Some US Citizens are being forced to choose between their partner in life, and their right to live life in the country they were born in.
This is not what we were promised. This is not what we will allow to continue.
Here are some key points, questions and demands we would like to bring to your attention:
- USCIS states that spouses of US Citizens do not need to wait in line for a visa to become available and that family unity is a priority
- If US Citizens are at the top of the priority for the US government agencies why are we being set aside while ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION REFORM is being glorified and allowed special treatment?
- US Citizens are put through stress and depression and as a result poor mental and physical health since the DACA program has slowed down processing times even more than in previous years
- Thousands of dollars A DAY is being spent on ILLEGAL immigrants to be able to stay in the USA when we have to prove we can support ourselves with our own hard earned money and we are happy to do so
- When calling the phone numbers we are provided for assistance during this process we get NO understanding and certainly very inconsistent answers, if any
- We need to know why our government is spending so much money and resources on ILLEGAL immigrants and warfare and can’t provide enough employees to control a backlog for spouses of US Citizens to process their paperwork?
- Certain processing time frames at NVC and USCIS are given and not abided by and we demand for a change in this
- We demand for processing times to be controlled and fair at ALL steps of this process
- We demand to be the priority as we are choosing to do what is right and legal
- We demand to be treated more humanely
- We demand for a change in processing times for Immigrant Visas IMMEDIATELY
We want to know why we are being punished.
We need to know that we are not invisible.
WE CANNOT CONTINUE TO BE IGNORED
Sincerely,

We were APPROVED!!! I'm so happy. I can't thank everyone here enough. I'm sure we would've had RFE's, 221g's and way more meltdowns if it wasn't for all of you. You guys rule and I'm so glad we all went on this visa journey together

MichelleRenee got a reaction from aruadha in Feb filer here who contacted my Senator....
Good point! And good on your for speaking up about it. I didn't have a single clue how hard this whole process was until I started going through it. When I try to explain it to people, they can't believe it and seem to be confused by the entire thing! I think spreading the word to people who can really make a difference is important. Thank you and good luck!!

MichelleRenee got a reaction from Papetica09 in How to deal with my anxiety through this whole process :|
I think everyone going through this process has severe anxiety! I know I sure do at least! I spent so much time making sure every little thing was right on every form, but I was still certain I would get an RFE. After I sent my package, I obsessed over it. I forgot to make a copy of my G-325A and I wasn't sure on what I wrote for a certain employment date, and I was constantly thinking about getting an RFE and having to resend the form and then the dates wouldn't match up and they would think I was lying and I would get in big trouble or get denied!! It kept me up countless nights and made me sick to my stomach to think about. But guess what? We got NOA2 after 90+ days and no RFE! It seems that all the silly little worries that seem huge turn out to be the former.. silly little worries.
I would always try to distract myself with wedding stuff, but it actually stressed me out more. Are we going to city hall or having an outdoor ceremony? Who are we going to invite? Should we just elope? Would we regret that? Are his parents going to make it? If my mom is there, will my dad still come? Are we going to have enough money for it? MY BRAIN!! It was nonstop thoughts followed by nonstop anxiety and stress. I finally told myself to stop thinking about anything regarding the wedding and just wait until NOA2 came through, because the stress of dealing with both at the same time was taking its toll. I knew I was overreacting and it took a lot of deep breaths and conscious thoughts to make it stop. I forced myself to be mindful of my thoughts and try to control them when those negative thoughts started sneaking in.
I did find VJ to be incredibly helpful. Reading other peoples stories, learning more about the process, knowing I'm not alone.. All of those things helped ease my mind. I think you should try to distract yourself here and take it day by day. Try to relax! Which is so easier said than done, but one day we will all look back on this and go, "Why the hell was I so worried?!"

MichelleRenee got a reaction from ohmygoshguys in February 2014 filers
Congrats to everyone who has gotten approved so far! It's so nice to have a group of people who understand. Does everyone here have strong support systems when it comes to this visa journey we're all on (friends, family, etc)? I find it hard to convey what I am going through to people, especially those who have their significant other in the same city/state. I know that if a lot of couples I knew were tested in this way, they would not succeed. I think people don't seem to understand how strong long a distance relationship, plus all the added stress of visas and everything, can really make a couple. I know all of us will come out of this stronger and more sure of our paths. Let's all keep our heads up!

There haven't been any updates on my file but I'm flying to London later tonight to stay with my fiancé for ten days! I am so excited and hoping this will make the time go quicker. I am terrified of flying, but I'm trying to stay positive! Hope we all get good news soon.

MichelleRenee got a reaction from JulieandDanny in Filing Location Help!
You would put the address of where you are sending the 129F. I sent mine to the Texas Lockbox, so I used that address. If you are filing at the same location, the address is:
USCIS
P.O. Box 660151
Dallas, TX 75266
Although, I have read that including the address of filing location is not that important in the letter of intent. It's more about stating you both have intent to marry. Make sure you both fill one out and sign it. The original should be sent, not a copy. Hope this helps and good luck to you!!!!
