If you can barely afford the paperwork fees, do you earn enough to sponsor 5 more people?
Thank you for your concern. Without getting into details of my finances, I can on paper sponsor my family members as I make enough. Currently husband isn’t working.... he will in future as we figure out child care options for our 1 year old.

You will be filing paper versions of the I-130s.
You don't use you A Number. As a citizen you use your social and copy of naturalization certificate.
Follow the directions literally. Put in the mailing and physical address.
Thank you. I will use paper files and it helps as I will put in both addresses.

You understand the wait for your sister will be over 15 years ?
With confusing records they may ask for DNA testing. When your parents lived here was it legally or did they overstay or violate a non resident visa ?
Yes I understand its not easy as I've dealt with USCIS legally living here for 28 yrs. My parents always were legal so not worried about that. They never overstayed or anything. If they ask DNA that's fine by me too. As for my sister, I am aware of long wait too but I would still like to try. It doesn't hurt to put in the application.

Hoping others who've done so successfully can help....
I got my citizenship through naturalization August 2018. I want to petition for my parents and sister (with husband and kid) who's in India.
I understand I have to file 3 I-130's, one each for parent, one for sister (with deratives)
I've always done process through lawyers before so am trying to avoid legal fees this time...it's not good time financially to pay extras.
Questions
1) Do you have to do paper filing or online through ELIS? I believe I have an ELIS from when my naturalization was being processed (although lawyer had filed). Should I be using that to file? Does it allow you to save information like an I130 form or do you have to do it in one go? I tried to use the online fillable I130 but it doesn't let me save it as I can never finish one go and it's a pain to restart.
2) On the I130, do I have to list my A-Number now that I am a citizen?
3) Uscis online account number... Is that the ELIS account number?
4) If mailing address/physical address are same, do you have to complete questions on physical address 1 (12a to 13b)
5) Indian names on documents are confusing. My dad has name A B, with no surname listed on his passport. My maiden name is X Y. I've always stated Y is my surname. I always thought B was dad's listed surname but looking at it on his Indian passport, surname is blank and given name is A B. So how do i fill out questions 24 a and b. Same issue with mom's name. Funny thing is in all document filings with USCIS, I never thought of it and I've always put dad's surname as B....if they start digging old files.
6) another big issue is birth certificate. My birth certificate has some random first name that was given for sake of birth records. It's typical there to just put a name then start using another name after religious/astrological consult. All my school records etc have always been the name I use, not what's on my birth certificate and a fluke. It lists both my parents name as indicated above. When I filed my I485 etc and had to provide my birth certificate, I submitted my messed up birth certificate along with affidavits from relatives explaining the name issue. I also submitted school records showing my name and parent's name. Will this be an issue, especially with more scrutiny now with sponsoring parents and that being the focus, the names etc and relationships? I don't even know if I still have those affidavits as I had so many versions I forgot which I submitted.
7. Beneficiary entry info (question 45). My parents have often visited NY legally, at one point even lived here. Last entry was about 3 years back. I don't know if they even gave those I94 white forms any more. How do i fill that out?
Those are some starter questions. I will have more later on as I go through this.. I am not sure if doing this myself is wise but want to avoid paying all those lawyer fees. My brother (legally here on work visa) will be paying for the filing fees. In reality they will be living with him but I am sponsoring but I suppose on form, I should list that they will be living with us?
I appreciate all the assistance. Sorry for all my confusing questions.

congrats! do i need to bring tax return? even if they dont ask to bring it
I took tax transcript that I got from IRS/State and account record (shows transcript and any balance etc I think) but didn't have to show. since i had tax due, they were only interested in seeing the installment agreement for both state and federal. I also showed bank statement to show monthly auto deductions.

Congrats!!! but that was interesting "I asked front person and she checked, told my file was still being reviewed I asked front person and she checked, told my file was still being reviewed " do they review the file in the same day of interview or before?
good question but as always I fail to understand USCIS. Not sure why review was done same day.......... Maybe this officer got file and was covering for someone else or maybe because it's I showed up without a lawyer and got to this officer instead of another floor where file should have gone... Don't have a clue why

Just an update to my almost ending journey with USCIS.....
I filed for citizenship in Dec 2017. Forgot actual date. Online estimated completion date was Dec 2018. I'd stopped looking at it much being busy with a one year old.
Had my N400 interview in NY Federal Plaza yesterday. Scheduled for 2:30 pm, 9th floor (Queens) and got there at 1:50 pm. I was asked if my lawyer would be joining me and I told them no. I'd used a work lawyer to simply do the paperwork but they weren't going to represent me. So instead of being told to go to another floor, I was given a ticket number and told to wait. Room had very few people. Most people coming in to 9th floor were checking in and being sent to other floors. So I was bit surprised and thought this was going to go fast.
My concerns going in.... I owed back taxes from 2016 due to hubby unemployment, cashing retirement. Am on payment plan so took payment plan info and bank statements showing monthly auto deductions. Also I had answered no to all questions on arrests, citations etc but afterwards remembered I had a ticket from 2016 that I pleaded not guilty (cause I should never have gotten that ticket) and the case has been postponed twice (once me being heavily pregnant, second the officer) and case is now scheduled for Nov 2018. I read that you should let officer know. Not sure. I took my driving license record and the notice with date on it for nov 2018. I also took dmv manual to show that I was not really required to be doing what office told me I should be doing when given ticket and that's why I am fighting it.
Back to interview day at federal plaza
even though only 2-3 people in front of me (some people come to this floor to be seen at window for bringing documents, pics, questions etc). I waited till almost 3:30 from 1:50. I asked front person and she checked, told my file was still being reviewed which made me nervous why so long. But then again I've lived in USA legally for 28 yrs almost and I have a huge file i'm sure. Most officers were leaving around 3:30 and I was still waiting.
Finally got called by a younger woman at 3:30, walked back. Was asked to swear to tell truth etc, did so. She asked if I was waiving for lawyer to be there, I said yes. Made me sign a screen acknowledging so, took fingerprints, pic.Went through basics of date of birth, address, work info etc. Verified hubby date of birth, if still unemployed (yes). Then started questions from application, yes/no.
When asked about taxes, I said I always filed but owe taxes, explained situation. Showed docs on payment plan, bank statements. She took those copies. Said shouldn't be a problem as on payment plan.
Then other questions. When on question of arrest, citation, etc. Told her about traffic ticket. asked if i mentioned it on my GC application, I hadn't but it was after I applied for removal of conditions etc. I told her I was pleading not guilty and why/about case. I tried showing DMV printout which shows I am not required to be doing what officer asked. SHe didn't look at that or DMV record. She wanted to know the amount for fine which I didn't know and kept asking about that. I asked if should be a problem she said she wasn't sure and would have to check.
Then I had my English reading/writing, civics test. I got first 6 right.
Asked if I have 2 passport pics and luckily I'd read online and got 2 on way from Walgreens. Not best looking.... but gave those and she had me sign them.
Then signed a screen showing changes to my application with traffic violation and taxes. Also confirming some other info.
Given a sheet saying passed english/civics but can't make decision.
I asked again if will be a problem with the traffic violation and pending hearing. She said she's not sure but can check on way out. I asked for her to do so please.
Then walked out. She made me wait on side when she went to ask someone. Came back and told me that it will not be a problem. I asked how long is wait time now. Said about 3 weeks but they have 120 days to make decision.
Left feeling better that at least she said all should be fine.
My phone was dying with 5 % when I got txt alert case was updated. 2 alerts. Had to wait to get home and then checked and said oath ceremony was being scheduled. Yay.
Today I was able to log in and see date. 9/11 Brooklyn Cadman Plaza ceremony at 8:30 am.
So almost there.
Just wanted to update for anyone looking for info.

Thats good to know, i really hope you get your approval soon. 🙏🏼
Thank you.
Infopass (first one ever for me lol) went well.
Officer told me my I751 was approved a while ago. I am assuming when the officer told me at interview I was approved. Grrr.
It never got to go for card production. Instead NBC requested it, am assuming because of the N400. So I was given a one year stamp. I had to get my photo and fingerprints taken for the stamp.
My N400 is supposedly in line for an interview. So seems background checks completed. She said maybe will get interview date in next 60 days.
So now I will go back to waiting in peace for some time as I at least have a stamp to prove my status.

Get an Attorney and file a Writ of Mandamus... you’ll be over in 60 days.
I was able to at least get an infopass appt for Monday morning to go and get I751 stamp. Thanks to Senator office involvement. At least I will have some peace of mind while waiting. I hope all goes ok on MOnday as I"ve never been to an infopass....

I am not in position to get a lawyer and pay $$$ to do this. With a baby on hand, I barely have time to make dinner right now at times. Life is crazy busy and thinking of this is giving me more of a headache now.
I requested assistance from my senator office so what they did find was that my case is at NBC waiting for interview day scheduling. I feel like filing for naturalization screwed me up because had I not, at least i'd have an answer to my I751. Now that is stuck. They should be unrelated in that what if for some damn reason I am not able to get my naturalization, I am still able to get conditions lifted and a permanent gc.
I have a serious headache today. God only knows how much longer I am stuck and now at making sure the naturalization goes through because otherwise I got nothing.
I can't get a stamp unless I go to office saying there is an emergency. How the heck am I supposed to show an emergency? Why the heck am I supposed to wait till an emergency when USCIS had 2 years already to process this...even did an interview.
I guess my advice...don't file for naturalization until after. Or at least find a way to get your passport stamped during an interview.
Not having a good day...

Logging on after a while and seeing posts now. I posted something yesterday related to this.
My timeline.
I applied for I751 jointly April 2016
Applied for citizenship Dec 2017
Interview for I751 and biometrics for citizenship application in January 2018...same day.
At interview for I751, I went in with a sick baby and husband. I'd had baby sick for few days and was super exhausted and unfocused and out of it. Couldn't keep up with officer. Having 103 fever for baby few days and not sleeping will do that and was going straight yet again from doctor office, waiting forever to be seen. So I sort of lost it a bit though I apologized to the officer and he was really nice and said he didn't even know why we were there to begin with. He checked everything took baby (citizen) birth certificate, said all good, he was approving case. Asked supervisor passing by, "the couple with sick baby" and she stated to approve too. Obviously brain dead I did not ask for stamp in passport.
Here I am still waiting though verbal approval was given.
Looking at my case number using biometrics letter, it says On April 11, 2016, we received your Form CRI-89, Petition to Remove Conditions of Permanent Resident Status Received, Receipt Number ___, and sent you the receipt notice that describes how we will process your case.
Yesterday I tried to use the I751 receipt number which never worked in past and I"d given up and it says On April 16, 2018, we received your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, Receipt Number ___ at your local office.
So why was my case transferred to local office when i've already done one interview and was told approved in January 2018. What is going on..
I really need proof of status for things I need to do in terms of baby. I never got passport stamped due to last year being pregnant and now working and having baby on hand. I've tried for months to get appt with NY office and there is nothing. They don't take walk ins. So what am I supposed to do.
I am stressed out about this.
Nothing on citizenship case too after biometrics.

My I751 filed jointly in summer 2016 is still pending. I had an interview in Jan 2018 where I went with sick baby and husband and kinda lost it (several days of baby sick does that) and officer was really nice and said we should not even be there, he was approving case. Asked his supervisor in passing also and she too said it's ok and approved. Left without thinking of getting passport stamped. It's May and no response or anything since. I also applied for citizenship in Dec 2017 and had fingerprinting same day of interview. We are in NY. Can't get any appointments to go and get passport stamped. So not sure. Am trying to get local Senator office help.
My number from fingerprinting notice says my CR case is received and pending. My receipt number from I751 filing that finally is working today says my case transferred to local office on April 16, 2018. Why was it transferred after my interview.
I'm so confused and stressed out... Any ideas???
-
i am stressed too now. My GC expired 6/16/16. The NOA1 on my removal of conditions is dated 4/11/17. So am not sure what date to go by in terms of needing a stamp in my passport.
I'm pregnant with a month to go and really don't need this stress of not knowing why not approved. I've thought of getting an infopass appt but haven't seen any availability when i've checked. Plus I really don't want to take time off work to go get this done when I'm trying to save my days for maternity leave. It's so random and unpredictable. At first I was trying to have patience but that seems to have run out. Every day go check mailbox but nothing in there.
Stressed out today.... What if I do nothing and it's end of June and still no approval. I know by then I will probably file a service request. If I remember with new baby on board.... But what if I forget and i have no extension or stamp...my status is safe right?
-
Congratulations to so many new approvals. I am so happy to see movement. Wish I could stalk mailman but can't since at work. Feeling left out Wish I would see mine today. That would make me preggers feel good and excited for one day. So tired!!!! Come on USCIS, make me happy today!!!!

Fania & Nelson, wow congrats. Gives some hope for us VSC April filers. I was thinking May or so at least so it's good to get some glimmer of hope.

Got biometrics done yesterday. Took about 15 mins. One of my fingers was not very cooperative. Now to wait again. The guy doing it was nice. Said I should be getting decision in mail. I said I know but gotta wait few months, he said if all good, shouldn't take so long. Lol I know how it goes though.

My biometrics appt is june 1 at long island city, queens. I am confused. I thought that one had closed for some reason and all cases moved to the other nyc field offices such as manhattan office. Even uscis website didn't gI've me much info. Does anyone know or has recently been there? My appt is mid day so think I will try to go in am so don't loose all day of work.

My biometrics for June 1!

Got NOA today too. Check cashed yesterday. Today NOA dated 4/11. We mailed it on 4/6, ups showed delivery 4/16, so who knows what they've been doing there.
-
I wonder for those that got their checks cashed today in the VSC waking moment, how long before to get the NOA1. Other service centers, some see the checks cashed a day or so after they receive the NOA. So anyone from VSC get a NOA in mail? Some proof other than the delivery notice would be good....

Yes that's really issue with Indian parents not living with daughters. My brother is here legally and so they stay with him but he can't sponsor as he is not a citizen. So I am not sure if it would look wrong if his address is shown instead.
Money is tight as husband is not working but we anticipate he will return this year. Also my brother is really taking care of parents. We will look into getting visitor insurance together when approved for visa. Besides NY is expanding health coverage to all outside of immigration status at this point. So that should help too.
Thank you. I will use Alien number.
That's a good question to ask my parents. Thank you. That will help. Where is the india specific portal on this site.
