If you are anxious, I know of this herb that might be able to help you relax..... (too soon?)
In all seriousness, I also have some pretty horrible anxiety issues, I actually didn't pass my medical on the day because of them, (my blood pressure was through the roof, for no other reason than I get anxious around doctors, and when I need something to go my way), I had to get a 24 hour blood pressure test to ensure I was "normal".
I know from experience, that it is much easier said than done, but you really do need to calm down and relax about the whole process, worrying and getting stressed isn't going to help you. I would even call back up and see if they still have the appointment you cancelled.
I literally went 2 weeks ago, and all she said was "have you ever taken drugs, or are you a drug user" I said "no", and she moved on to the next question on the survey. She told me the blood test is for syphillis only. Then you get your blood drawn, she has a quick poke, and peak downstairs, you get an xray, see the nurse about vaccinations, they give you a form and you leave. Thinking, what the hell was I so scared about.
Feel free to keep talking on this forum, or even private message if you want. I know before my medical, I had so many stupid questions, that I just needed someone to reassure me everything would be ok, and that I am making a big fuss out of nothing.
Everything is going to be ok. You are making a big fuss about nothing. Relax

I hdidn't master's degree, and used my f1patienceand b2 visa time to network like craat. When I got back I had a few nights out with some of my contacts. Got a few beers in them and got then to spread the word. Within about a week I interviewed for 6 jobs and was offered all of them. Picked the one with the best title, best money and pretty good hours even though I am salaried.
It is all about confidence. Being a great social drinker with good contacts always helps.
I didn't apply for one single job..
Have patience and faith, you will find something. Just remember everytime you are out at a bar, local event, or even church it is your opportunity to network with someone who can help you. Heck I am not even nearly religious, but the contact who got me in the door for the job I have does, and I met him there when I decided to go to a service for a christening. Every person you meet could potentially be your golden ticket.

USCIS sucks. Couldn't organize a piss up in a brewery. In three months, I could cut down a tree, create paper, catch a squid, kill it, extract the ink, make a pen, fill in the form, walk to Chicago, hand over the papers, get in the door, pick up my envelope, walk to the nearest service centre, make friends with someone who works at the center, give them ten bucks to process my case, then cycle to the FBI, do the search myself, then head back to Helena, get some plastic, and create a card, build a wooden plane and fly back to great falls, and get a job.
    Anyway, still no news

I'm not sure but I think they won't actually start doing anything until biometrics are done I could be wrong, however
I think that's why a lot of people try to do early walk ins to speed it up a bit

I got my e-notification texts at 2am! I didn't know what was happening when I got 3 consecutive texts at that time of day haha.

Yeah, the way I see the whole interview thing is as if you are already conditionally approved. You just have to now give in the required documents, proving the finances are in order, and you are who you are, and answer a few very easy questions. Just think of it as a final check. Just make sure you are prepared, and everything becomes much easier. I worked myself into a frenzy thinking about the interview, when after all was said and done, it was the easiest part.

I live in Montana. We got to -40 before Christmas, and for one day, we were the coldest town in the world. Colder than the North Pole... Get on my level... haha joking, joking I just never imagined moving to America and getting -40 f***ing degrees for 3 months a year, trust me to find the girl of my dreams in one of the Coldest places in the world.. . I can't wait for summer. At least for the large majority America gets a proper 4 seasons. Unlike the one week most the UK gets.

I work for the passport office advice line, so hopefully I can shed some light.
There should be a barcode reference number you are given. After 1 and a half weeks, keep calling 0300 222 0000 (option 2). They can check the status of your passport, but if you make it sound urgent, we can try and put you through to ICH, which knows much more on the status of your passport, and have up to the minute information, whereas the number you call may only have information refreshed from over 24 hours ago.
At the minute they are incredibly busy, but if there is absolutely no issues, then it should be a lot closer to 3 weeks than 4 weeks.
You can also call the number I wrote there, if you are desperate to get back to get a temporary extension, then renew your passport once you get back using the one day service in the Cardiff office (appointments can be made 3 weeks in advance.

As long as you take 1 US-Sized Passport Photo (and if you'd read my "Interview Day" part of the K-1 guide, you'd have known that) whether you get it at a photo booth in a supermarket, at Gould's just before your interview or printed out yourself then you will be fine.
Read the "Interview Day" section of the guide. Post 5. And read the nice, detailed review I linked inside it. Just ignore the section on portable electronics as you can now take those in.
    Take your attitude elsewhere.

In fairness, it is a privilege to immigrate to the United States, not a god given right.
Although it is frustrating, it is something you have to do. Ranting about it wont really change anything. Your medical was done before the embassy even got your LND number right?
And you didn't send off your Form of Readiness, and DS-160 until the 7th. So six weeks is the guideline the embassy gives, and 4 weeks is the average time around here. You are barely 2 weeks after sending off your DS-160 and documents.
You seriously need to calm yourself. You are looking at another 4 weeks from the time you get your date. You are going to make yourself sick, if you are this wound up for that long...
We all miss our loved ones, but sometimes it is beneficial to take a step back, and look at the bigger picture. What is a couple of months in the grand scheme of things and (hopefully) years and years of being together.

Just jump through the rings. I don't know why you would refuse a jab, for the sake of £29.00, you get rid of the uncertainty come AOS. If you read the Knightsbridge Doctor thread, closer to the end, you will see that your experiences are not exactly unusual. I had to get a 24 hour blood pressure monitor the next week, and the girl sitting beside me had to get a letter from her doctor.
It is just one of those things.
Just get the letter, and get ready for the interview. You should be excited to be this close to finalizing the process Chill!
