KMR&MHAH got a reaction from THUNDERLAND in Help needed by Egyptians who applied for k1
We applied for K1 and the beneficiary is Egyptian. The K1 is initially applied for by the US citizen, by submitting an I-129F so it is processed in the US. Once the I-129F is approved, then they send it on to the consulate and the embassy in Cairo takes over. The embassy sent very clear email instructions along the way and we did reply to the Cairo emails at times for clarification and they always responded within 24 hours. Its a lengthy process from Cairo, but not particularly difficult. The only thing that I was most concerned about was the medical check. I think it is only valid for a few months. Since we had to wait 5 months after the I-129F was approved in the US for him to get the interview at the Cairo embassy, I was concerned that the medical might expire before the visa was granted and we would have to do it again, and pay for it again. Since that was a concern, I emailed Cairo at the beginning of each month after the case was transferred there to ask them who they were currently interviewing. They told me what month they were currently processing and when they got to the month just before ours, that is when he went for the medical. That way his medical was only 2 weeks old at the time of interview, instead of possibly on the verge of expiring. The interview itself was not difficult. The interviewer started the conversation with a huge congrats and my fiance laughed with him and invited him to our wedding. He was approved and got the visa within a week of the interview.
I hope this is helps. Message me personally if you need further information about K1 through Cairo.

You know , I read this and this sounds like a lifetime channel classic saturday afternoon movie.
C'mon you already know what you need to do, you need no advice.
You need to make the ultimate decision, the brave decision....whatever that is for you
I for one if I was you and I was a woman I would leave before it escalates into more serious violence.
Everytime he hits you and you stay...you let him know that his behavior is accetable to you.
His behavior and level of violence will only get worse!
Put your big girl panties on, pack your Sh*t and leave.
Sorry if I come off to strong, but you did ask for opinions and advice!

KMR&MHAH got a reaction from Soloenta in Egypt interview, how long is it taking?
We waited 5 months for a K1 interview. The embassy has gotten behind over the last couple of years, but seem to be trying to make a valiant effort to got caught up. They are inching forward to shorter wait times, but lets hope that things stay somewhat stable over the next few months for you. I have also noticed that there are some who interview at Cairo and are either not put in AP or its pretty short, so maybe that is helpful. Our interview is coming up and hoping for no AP.

KMR&MHAH reacted to relshamy in Where does AP take place?
Thanks for your input everyone. Unfortunately, the embassy keeps on saying there's no timeframe. I told them my fiance was told 3-6 weeks by the CO during the interview. They said if after 6 weeks it's not done, then it's just not done yet and you have to wait. So pretty much the time frame that was given is just a standard one. I really do hope everything is resolved quickly for all of us inshAllah. Good luck to all of you
