jbanya reacted to JayJayH in i was denied entry in USA as tourist and Voluntary withdraw the application for admission
You were denied entry because you arrived on a non-immigrant visa, and failed to demonstrate that you did not intend to immigrate. In essence, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) believed you wanted to immigrate. When you're married, and eventually apply for an immigrant visa, immigrant intent is, of course, expected. That's the point of an immigrant visa. You will not be denied an immigrant visa because you intend to immigrate.

    Depends on the situation.
What is the person's intent when entering the US?
It's possible to adjust status from tourist to permanent resident, based on marriage, without having to leave the US.
But it is not possible to legally enter the US on a tourist visa with the intent to adjust status.
A tourist visa is a non-immigrant visa, allowing a person to enter the US for a visit, with intent to return home.
Adjustment of status is an immigrant petition.
You cannot enter the US on a non-immigrant visa, with intent to immigrate. But you can enter the US on a non-immigrant visa with intent to return home, make new plans after entry and then adjust status.
It all comes down to intent on entry.

Timescale to get the travel and work permit is 2-3 months, the full AOS (with interview, to get greencard) can take many months longer. The SSN alone does not let you work.

Sadly, I think it is very legal.
I will give you another simpler examples.
You know it's legal to be a tobacco smoker in US (in proper areas).
But there are companies that do nicotine tests, and you will not be hired
if you are found to be a smoker. I worked for one before.
Also, US government says, you can't discriminate against age, sex, religion, etc.,
but that government like (CIA, FBI, Police) have age restrictions on certain positions.
If they don't want you, you probably don't want to be there anyway.
There are plenty of other jobs, just let this one go and move on to the next job search.
    That's American style...
    Best wishes

First of all, you are joking, right?
Second, if you ARE serious, you might want to consider telling us you're still joking.
Your topic annoys me. See, because of people like you, who want to get marry for such selfish, immoral reasons, we, who genuinely love our partners, have to go through this long, sometimes frustrating process!
So, thanks a lot, "Erika", and good luck, not to you, but to your fiancé!

He will donate all his properties to charity. You will not receive a dime, well you will get your greencard eventually so it is good for you.

Find your way to an abuse shelter in your area. You can look for them on google. Catholic Charities can help you for free with your divorce and petition, but, because you have no evidence, it can be difficult. I strongly suggest you call the police next time he hits or abuses you. Police will help you here, especially since you are pregnant. This is not India, women have rights, and when it comes to abuse, more so than men.
Also, remember to delete the history on your computer or use the incognito version of chrome.

I think they are seriously mistaken. My wife arrived on a K-1 on 9/2/12 and we went to SS office on 9/4/12 and applied and had a SS card in about 10 days. Granted it did say "Not Authorized For Employment" on it. After GC just went and made the name change.

I know not all women think that way as I once dated a men who are 18 yrs elder than me and that time I only 22 yrs old, he divorced men and he is so gentlemen, I always look for mature man because they really know how to respect women, and I have the sense of security when with mature man, especially think on when I 40 yrs old, he alrd 58 and I still attractive to him! Especially to the girls who don't have "Father's love" in childhood.. oh my father still alive but in Chinese's Culture (Typical and traditional type) they only love son, and threat daughter is liability
Don't worry what others' view, priority is yourself, if you love her, just go ahead and don't bother the ignorant's feedback here!

Usually the older one have fear than the younger one I guess; he said he feel bad as Asian usually look younger and he actual age 10 years elder than me. Once at London we lined in to visit a Museum, and the counter officer told me "student and age below 21 is half price".
I am a bit naughty, I like to address him "Uncle" as well...

Baron555 she probably won't get to the point of needing a chaperone since she is very likely to get her visa denied.
Daddys_dream. Right now, I don't see anything else you can do other than submiting the reason she can't travel to see you. In the eyes of the USCIS the only thing that can stop her from visiting you visa denial.
Not having the money to travel because her family likes her to travel in groups of three is nonsense.
At the same time, this whole chaperone thing is very unusual for a phillipina looking online for a husband. I am not saying there aren't religious families in the phillipines, but their daughters don't try to marry older American men online. Be careful not to fall into a scheme of sending visa money + plane ticket money for 3 people. You are an easy target since you are disabled and can't travel to The Phillipines to cause trouble after losing all the money. Usually, If it's too good to be true it's because it's not true. You don't want daddy's dreams to be shattered now do you?

As always I respect you for your opinion. It is a wonderful world where all opinions and lifestyles coexist. I only care about my Love for my fiance, not an issue what others think. My children who I raised as a single parent also have accepted my fiance as they know their dad and wish for him to be happy.
Take care, stay happy, and most important be true to your heart and yourself.

Leave Catholicism out of this, s'il vous plait
I'm following the topic, because I was interested in what people have to say about age difference, but the discussion has turned into what it's like in the Philippines. Never been there, but I'd go visit if I had ton of money for traveling around the world But Catholicism shouldn't be brought up like this as it has nothing to do with the issue; rather cultural and individual prejudices.
