Two years ago we had a new dock and deck made at our house in the Keys replacing one that was constructed with PT lumber. This time we used a product called TanDeck, a product made entirely from recycled HDPE which is largely old milk jugs. 50 year warranty. So far it's great and still looks like new. Always hated the way PT lumber warped, cracked, splintered and weathered in the intense FL sun.

Oh oh, that's very bad. You need a bite guard. More health problems? Any hot Asian chicks at this one? Yuck!

Yesterday we flew to Colorado for the wedding of the daughter of my wife’s best friend, and a girl that worked for me while she was in school. We are in the Boulder area but staying at a small lodge in a very small town way up in the mountains. 8236 feet elevation which is a big change for us from the couple of feet above sea level. It’s a quirky artistic tourist town and our lodge is right on Boulder creek. Only took us several minutes to walk the entire town. Noticed that there were mountain bikes for rent. Asked my wife if she wanted to try mountain biking…LOL. She said only if she could get a mountain bike with training wheels. @TBoneTX, I think this proves she is a true Rubia.

Dad taught me how to change oil and filter and other maintenance tasks before I turned 13 and since that time I have never paid for that service on a car or a boat or when I was racing karts then cars. Guess I'm pretty much a do it yourself kind of guy.

Yes it is. It seems they reduced their size and gave up a little bit of their property to accommodate cruise ships, a new hotel, and an upscale gated community (Truman Annex) some years ago. I do still see them practicing touch and goes at Boca Chica. And of course got to keep a close eye and ear on Cuba.

I'm here in the Keys every month, and after the end of the year I'll be able to spend a lot more time here.

You know, here in paradise I have found that a couple of stiff drinks allows me to have a very successful siesta! Just saying.

No Walmart in the Keys and I'm going thru withdrawal. And yes, I did start drinking well before 9am.....COFFEE! Actually it's about dinnertime and I've not had any alcohol today. And I almost never drink when I'm not in the Keys, but you know what they say. " You can't drink all day if you don't start first thing in the morning", or at least I was told that by someone in Key West.

Just a quick question. Is 9:00am too early to start drinking? Asking for a friend...

Back down in the Keys again. Came down today with a new monster boat in tow. Got a whopping 9 miles per gallon on the trip here. Didn't think I would ever get another boat and my wife had told me on several occasions to not even think about it because it would never happen. She insisted a new kitchen was her first priority. Several times each year we have 2 or 3 other couples come down with us and because some of our friends are "large" it's a problem taking everyone out at the same time. This past July 4th we were with our friends hanging out at the local sandbar when my wife spotted the perfect boat. She told me we should get one! (Sometimes I don't even know who this woman is) She said she was willing to give up her kitchen and admitted she really didn't like spending time in the kitchen cooking anyway. I researched this purchase until my head was ready to explode and finally found the right deal. Figured I'd better seal the deal before my wife changed her mind... strike while the iron is hot. I did agree to name the boat in her honor. I just hope I have some money left for gas.

Ours was a paragraph or perhaps two. That's all. Included 5 photos of us together. I just couldn't imagine anyone would want to waste time reading several pages and look at dozens of photos. We did K-1 and it worked fine for us. At this point I don't think K-1 is much faster than CR1.

Feeling sad today. The 1/2 inch drive Power Kraft (Montgomery Wards) ratchet that my dad bought well over 50 years ago and passed on to me, finally broke. It had a lifetime warranty. Need to find my closest Montgomery Wards to get my replacement. I always thought we should have bought Craftsman tools because of course you remember what they said. "Craftsman tools. As solid as Sears"

What a perfect time to go shopping!

My wife continues to have no problem making video calls with her friends and family using Whatsapp. She chatted with her sister this week.

Wife got this Russian tortoise from a breeder here in FL. He(?) is fairly small, a little less than 2 inches in diameter. I'm doing some research and learning as much as I can. This little one burrows and hides away during the day but after work we get him out in the sun and warmth and he comes around. Loves spring mix salad and dark green romaine lettuce. He has small pellets of food but doesn't show any interest in that.

We are ....you guessed it, down in the Keys again. Holiday weekend coming up so we took off early and are not going back to work until Tuesday the 9th! We are so over this thing called "work" and we just don't give a damn about our patients anymore. OK, that was a little harsh, but we are just about ready to end this part of our life. Will be done just prior to the end of this year and then we are officially "old farts". Even more funny, on the way down yesterday we stopped at a McDonald's to let the dogs out and pee. Decided to eat and ordered a chicken value meal and a wrap. Wife and I shared the fries and the one drink. The bill for the two of us came to just over $8. I told her we are getting to be just like all the other old folks in Florida. Wife said she wouldn't sit with me if I ordered a senior coffee. The SUV was packed to the gills. Besides the usual supplies and cooler, had the two dogs and a large dresser for the bedroom. Also had to find room for a new temporary addition. A tortoise! Wife bought that to give to her grandson for his birthday. I guess that's better than the cat she was originally planning to give. I'm going to have to seek help from @Ontarkie on proper care of a tortoise. It's a very young Russian Dwarf tortoise. Hopefully the family will take decent care of him.
